Axial Yeti Upgrade - PT 12 - The Final Upgrades!

  • Take a look at the last and final few upgrades that I have done to this Axial Yeti!. Some of my previous upgrades or enhancements to this truck, had to be changed. In the video I will explain why that was.
    But the first thing I had to change was the steering servo. Unfortunately the Savox coreless servo that I originally had installed in the truck was drawing to much power. Also I discovered a leak in one of the rear stock shocks, so I decided to just go a head and upgrade them to the Axial Icon Shock. The last thing I had to change on this truck was removing the scale fuel tubing to be able to get better access to the inside of the truck to work on it. Again I explain everything in a little more detail in the video.
    I also show all of you the Led lights all working with out any problems. I honestly don't think im going to have any problem seeing at night with those RC4WD LED light bars! :)
    Want to know were I got my parts from? Check out the build series. Each video has a direct link to the part(s) that I discuses in each video.

    This is a very cool build. My Yeti kit will be here in two days, and I'd love to do some of these cool scale mods, especially the lighting, but I know that the first time I rolled it on the track and that light bar gets ripped off, I'd be pissed! To much work if you intend to drive it hard. All that scale detail will get trashed in the first couple of runs!

    So...I've ordered up the vanquish steering upgrades for the yeti.. this got me thinking about the next couple upgrades I would want/need. That being said (money no object) which 2 other upgrades would be the best 2 other upgrades?
    *not cosmetic stuff, actual performance stuff.

      personally I'm thinking I'm going to upgrade the steering knuckles and caster blocks (lump together as one thing) then the trailing arms. but I'm not 100% where I should start on the upgrades. I'm building the kit, so it's easier to get all the upgrades before I start building.

    I noticed my Yeti kit likes to endo alot when jumping. Are you having that problem?

    • @RCOverloadYT
      @RCOverloadYT  9 років тому

      G14 Not really. It has more weight now in the front then when it was stock. So that may be helping to keep the front end down a bit.

    • @chuckerchuckerton7046
      @chuckerchuckerton7046 9 років тому

      +G14 Kinda late but felt the need to correct this. Hrrmm, dirtbike world endo is the rear going over the front. Weight in the front would only make this worse.
      Either run stupid soft springs/heavy oil in the back, to help eliminate the "Pop" or really stiff springs up front combined with heavy oil 60wt+. I use 80 up front 60 in the back. Alot is throttle as well, save some top end on throttle till your mid air and jam it, or a lil throttle up at the tip of the jump, the wheel forces will arch the vehicle back mid air with enough rpm.
      Another note, just letting off throttle mid air will cause these cars to endo pretty bad(short wheel base? I dunno). Limit straps will keep to ass end down but you loose travel so, meh.
      My surface with my wrexo is loose track/dirt/light rock/large jumps, 15-20mph. 3s 9 pounds total

      Looks fantastic !!! I just added a Yeti to my collection. I bought it 3 days ago and have put over $600 into already. I did put in a High torque digital waterproof metal coreless steering servo with a Castle BEC( works great). You have had yours for a while. What upgrades do you feel are the most important to upgrade? I might have them already( or ordered) but I want to hear your opinion 🙂

      +RC Overload I purchased a Yeti and I have $1,244 in it total. It's still not constructed. This weekend is when I am going to build it and video the build. I got the replay prime x to video all sorts of stuff. I used every hard anodized axial part they made. I didn't replace the entire rear axle because the 60 is a nice rear end with the HD gears in it. And I didn't replace the trailing arms because of the alum reinforced sides included. I am not willing to cut the front end up so its not getting your other mod. I used RPM arms instead to give a bit more strength in that region. Hot racing c hubs and steering knuckles with the carbon fiber arms. ITS GONNA BE BEAST!
