We live in a Constitutional Republic, in our founding documents the word Democracy is spoken about in a negative way every single time. Read our founding documents. Sotomayor should know this too. If you want to see EVERY president be prosecuted, then keep chanting for it. It takes 1 prosecutor to wait until a President leaves office, scrutinize every act and choice, find 1 thing they can prosecute and do it. Why doesn't Biden just disallow Trump from holding any office in the government and say it is an offical act?

It would be easier to declare Trump an insurrectionist. Then to declare everyone that supported him stripped of their office. This would put 6 or 9 Supreme court Justice out of a job, most of the republican in the House and the Senate and a lot more everywhere in the US.

Ok, so hold on a second. We've always known that the President had immunity for official acts. One could assume that an ex-president would have immunity for official acts committed while he was still in office. How is this ruling any different?
