My podiatrist prescribed a custom made ankle brace to avoid triple fusion ankle surgery for end stage arthritis in multiple parts of my ankle. So far it's helping very much. I have changed to an anti-inflammatory diet and also do ankle exercises when not wearing the orthotic.
I have always preferred to be barefoot and found that regular shoes caused me additional pain. I am so glad to have found Xero Shoes. Listening to you here is a reminder that I am heading down a good path and what I can do to move towards less pain and more movement. Thank you so much.
This is a fascinating conversation. I had dealt with foot pain for years and thought there was something wrong with me. I went to countless doctors and all of them said they weren't sure what was causing the pain and said my feet look beautiful. But not a single one suggested foot strengthening exercises, just custom inserts and to wear shoes at all times. Even to get carbon fiber footplates. I have spent thousands of dollars doing all the stuff. Since listening to this, I have started to walk around barefoot and am starting the exercises to work on strengthening my feet. I have even ordered some barefoot shoes and ordered some toe spacers
I have been following you across different platforms. Insta too . Short videos . Brief videos. Each one of them is very informative for those who are dealing with pain and want to look for some magic / help that makes the life bit easier. Keep up your good work. Love from 🇮🇳 Good luck for you.
Thank you Dr. Conley & Dr. Kuhn for a very informative discussion. I am currently dealing with an issue with my big toe joint and realize the importance of healthy feet.
I have serve bilateral metatarsal and heel pain from what I believe is fat pad atrophy. However I used to do everything barefoot and was a Altra ambassador back in the day… I now wear orthotics 24/7 but still have great range of motion. I just keep trying to move while honouring my body, it’s bleed into my body: I’m definitely open to suggestions. I used to be a dancer and avid hiker but now I’m just grateful to have a creek close by.
I had ankle surgery 2 years ago. Was put into orthotic. I had Posterior Tibilas Tendonitis . They had Plantar Fasciitis for 1 1:2. I am back in a brace and starting all over again. Can you Alyssa help to direct me to someone knowledgeable. I am stuck between Dr & PT. Bad cycle. Thank you

The plantar fasciitis was really diminished by wearing sandals and watershoes without heels.
Thanks for sharing.
Intro is WAY too long - couldn’t be bothered.
Understanding the movements is important.
