I love looking back at these 70s videos. It's such a breath of fresh air to see no false hair painted on faces (heavy makeup) and teeth layered in veneers. Just natural and beautiful. ~Blake
Talented, beautiful family. And Leon Sylvers was a mega-talented musician, writer and producer of some of the greatest riffs, acts and hits of the 70s. Much respect.
What a beautiful family. Ten children all together. Saw them on Groucho Marx show with their parents when there were only 5 and one in the oven. They sang in harmony even as little kids. Lovely.
I just saw them as kids, the youngest as a pregnancy, when their parents were on Groucho Marx's game show, on a UA-cam vid. I've never heard of them but how cute.
back in the late 70's that's how I started to love soul, groups and individuals like this beautiful talented family of "Singers" not artists as they call themselves now.
I was 10 when I first discovered the Sylvers. Foster is about 4 years older than me, so he was the sexy older man. Saw them in concert at Magic Mountain - was one of the best days of my life!!
Dick Clark had the presence of mind to read the plaque and show it to the audience. By contrast, Don Cornelius of Soul Train, when the Sylvers gave him a thank-you plaque...
Shoot you better be glad he had the fortitude to have a show for black people at all instead of not picking about unimportant things... Don was smooth and the atmosphere on soul train was better in my opinion...it felt like home.

I think Edmund Sylvers was handsome and fine at the time but he had a son who name is Jeremy Sylvers, and his son were a actress/actor on the movie that he played on ‘Child’s Play 3’. Then, now, I found out that he’s grown up to be a man as handsome like his dad Edmund... Like WOW!!!
Hey check them out when they were babies with their parents & Groucho Marx on his game show called, “You Bet Your Life “. Beautiful & talented right from the start!
Yes, I've seen that. It was very cool and I'm glad Groucho allowed extended time to be with them and to show their talents. Someone said "dad" left the family. What did I miss on that?? Thanks!
@@stevedouglas7375 yes...I was horrified to think he could just up and leave that way...But he does come across as arrogant and not so thrilled that a new baby was on the way...

The Legendary Sylvers are one of the greatest family groups that ever existed in the music industry. These legends gave the world the best timeless music that will capture our hearts and soul forever. We'd all love to see the performances too, but it's not a matter of not having them, they can't show them for copyright / clearance / rights / ownership reasons. I love the Sylvers!
Lovely family I believe one of the boys has passed away Edwin. Just watched them on a game show with their parents with Groucho Marx very intelligent check it out.
I have a chance to see the Sylvers in St Louis back in the seventies it was truly a blessing the Jackson 5 and the Sylvers they were considered as the first families of the black community so proud of them love them both make no distinction between these two

It’s sad to think that these young people are probably close to seventy years old by now. 😢😢😩😩
Their vocals aren’t all that great individually just average ...that sound good harmonizing though
Very gifted family. God is good. I thought it was sad he left them, according to Unsung. I pray they were able to reconcile. 🙏🏽
