- Join me in this first of a two-part video series as I explore the site of the Salt Rive Cave Massacre in the mountains of Arizona. This is also known as the Skeleton Cave fight and took place in the 1870s between the U.S. Army and a band of Apache Indians. As I boat into the area and hike up the mountain I see and find many interesting rocks, animals, and other natural oddities.

I think your brilliant. you have made me do what u do. I suffer depression. but when I find someone like you, it makes me want to live. thank you so much xx
What new adventures have you had so far?
Being outdoors has been my only cure for depression and an outrageous drinking problem I had. It’s really saved my life.
Same @susan Smith
Stay strong Susan smith

My wife and I both enjoy learning history. That is one of the reasons we like your channel; you include information about what happened in the areas you explore. thank you for making such great videos.
Chigg, you continue to keep me on the edge of my seat, the history you share i thank you such, i also see the compassion in your face with different thoughts you express, ty.
These videos from the southwest have easily been some of my favorites!
As usual an excellent video. Thanks for sharing not only your adventures in metal detecting or river hunting but discovery and passing information along as well. You go, and do what a lot of us can't for our own reasons whether health, financial, family obligations, or a multitude of life's doings, we get taken along. I don't know if you realize what a positive impact that has on those who follow you. A thank you seems somewhat petty, but who you are, and what you do is very much appreciated. May you be safe, stay strong, live long, and keep doing what you enjoy.
Like the long exploring videos. Most are places that I will never go and see myself, so getting to sort of take a ride there for a bit when others video exploring those places.
Oh wow! I have never heard this story before. Thank you for showing respect and for the history lesson. Love watching your travels and finds!
Great Video!! cant wait for pt. 2!
Out of all the channels on UA-cam this one has to be the most fascinating
Love your content, sir. Can’t count the number of times you’ve just dropped a nugget of knowledge or wisdom that has made me pause the videos to look up more info. You have a valuable wealth of knowledge on so many subjects. Really appreciate you sharing it with us.
I remember seeing a father-son team of paranormal investigators go into that cave. I’m almost cringing as I wait for you to tell the rest of the tale of what happened there.
Your videos are fantastic I have spent hours watching them. These 2 were very interesting. Would love to join in your hikes.
Chigger you left me in anticipation!!! It's like watching a fascinating show and all the sudden it says to be continued! dang it now I can't wait 4 the other half of the video!! why do you do this to me??? Lol OK:) what a beautiful location! Thank you for allowing us to live vicariously through your videos! I love you!!!♡♡♡
Your knowledge is immense and we’re all better for it each video we watch. Thanks for sharing ✊💯🤗🤗
you have me hooked, I'll be looking for the notification for the second part. Really love how you teach history along with showing the nature.
Or a huge coincidence 🤔
I love your historical narrations of your adventures! Thank you Chigg!
I think Chigg is wearing the Ray Bans I lost last year canoeing.
Salt River Cave Massacre, Pt 1, that was an amazing climb. Scenery was just wow, great job on filming and narrating this thus far. Off to see pt 2. See ya on the next one.
The gods must be crazy, I & II classic cult funny movies......couple of my favorites
Chris Brenton about tree fiddy
anywhere they have jumping cactus, you should bring a comb with you. it's the best tool for removing any segments of the cactus that gets stuck to you. you put the comb behind the segment where the needles are stuck into you and pull it out real fast. It hurts but it works
Absolutely amazing !
Thank you for taking us along 😎
I'm thankful that you are into making vids. I like to think I learn a little something watching. I loved these 2. Really insightful.
ohh trust me it's amazing storytelling you do, and it's fabulous pictures. I'm crazy watching your video from Arizona so never stop. just ceep going!!!👍👍👍
Great adventure. That’s one nice thing about the desert country is how well it preserves all that history. In that dry climate wood can last on the surface for a hundred years or more. I explore tons of old homestead sites, stage stops, wagon roads and am constantly amazed with how long the traces of that history can last around here.
On another note, I completely don’t understand how some people can be so inconsiderate of those old sites. So frustrating to see modern trash there.
Really enjoying your videos. Thanks for taking the time to do them for us!
Chigg you are amazing man, These videos from you vacation are Fantastic! Thank you for taking us along on these adventures
I really like your videos and your delivery. Great job and congrats on keeping active and exploring!
The landscape is so beautiful, I wish we had something like that here. Great adventure, you should call your boat trips Beau on a Boat.

Safe Journey's Sir
I can’t climb anymore; too old and too many metal body parts now. So I love watching your videos. Glad you stopped this video here, I needed to catch my breath.
This was the best video iv ever watched. You were so respectful it was really refreshing to hear. I'm from Ireland and love the history of the Native Indians. It would be a dream to be over there hiking to those caves and hearing all the history. Amazing thanks 😊👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Love this part one. Holding my breathe for part 2. Can't wait to hear the story. Thanks Mr. Chigg.
Cliffhanger? Lol, I couldn't resist you on the cliff there and making a second part! Loving these Arizona videos so much! All the best and safe travels!
Where ever I go, I'm always amazed at the tenacity of life. It clings to every opportunity to grow. Maybe not thrive but still...
You do a great job of sharing your knowledge of the history of much of the SW. Looking forward to part 2.
Being an AZ native, I think your crazy hiking alone in places like that for many reasons. I hope you leave a note with your boat saying where you were going, and also notify someone about when you expect to get back.
I'm LOVIN these!!! Thank you so much for giving us some lessons in American history!!!
Been watching your videos for a while. I love them. Very relaxing to watch. I watch from start to finish.
Btw - Thanks for all the awesome history and nature vids from your trip, Chig!
I’ve been down a lot of rivers like the Salt and you feel very small going the those gorges, it can be a overwhelming feeling.
Great videos, EXCELLENT. I can tell you first hand about Africanized bees here in Texas. Got into them shredding a pecan orchard. I was stung over 200 times before I could get off my tractor. Started off in the ER, Ended up in the hospital. Damn near killed me. Not a great experience
You Sir are a true adventurer and the videos you post are brilliant.. so lucky to seek out all these historical locations and man.. what a life to live. Keep up the good work!.
I know this is sounding redundant, but I appreciate your diligence in making these type of videos. It brings me to places I would want to go, if I were able to climb mountains again. You should've brought your detector!! Hold your breath!!
So interesting! Thanks for taking us along again. Will be quite a story about the cave !!
This is spectacular!! The colors are wonderful. You are a real trooper for actually following your dream. Learning so much. This is the Arizona that I want to see. And so glad you have your boat!!!

Hi there, I have been enjoying all your videos. Dessert is not a landscape I know much of. I've been watching all your searches for Kenny Veach - M cave. Thank you for your laughters, you love for life, for nature, for geography, for history - love it when you mention Native Indians' culture. Stay safe out there. We are with you in spirit!
Always a joy to see anything and everything that you post.Im curious about how your wife feels about your trips.I'm sure that's she must worry about you.
You are one brave man!!! Is anyone else with you? Love your videos! (from North Carolina)
THANK YOU FOR ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO!!!!!!!!!! LOOKING FORWARD TO PART 2! THANKS FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO!
Darn you Chigg!! I'm on pins and needles waiting for the rest of the story!! I guess if Paul Harvy were still with us, He'd be proud of you!
Fantastic journey so far.......can't wait. Thanks
New subscriber to your channel here, great content! The only change I could suggest is that those of us using Apple IPads with crummy speakers find the volume a bit too low. I have my volume to max and can hear it ok, but turn on a fan or background noise and I find it a touch too low to hear. People on PC's won't have this problem. Thanks, love the channel so far!
great to see you again. Welcome back.
Born and raised in the Sonoran Desert, this video is bringing me home! Wow, thanks for sharing your experiences!
Cor, I love your vids of your travels in the south west. I've been there many times, but not in a long while. Takes me back, yup, takes me back...
Can't wait until part 2 ....Love your vids....Thank you so much
Splendid view, awesome country, got me spellbound. Thanks for making the climb and not taking the easy way out.
Thanks for the video.Looking forward to part 2.Great job.
I am a Chiricahua Apache descendant. My lineage is Chihende and Chonoken. I thought I knew Apache Country well, but you amaze me with your videos. Very much appreciated.
Thanks for sharing!
Been watching u for a while now and as a native AS always wondered if I'd do the salt river...or if I would !. Glad to see u in our neck of the woods chigg!
That's some of my favorite fishing grounds. Absolutely love Canyon Lake! I live up north now outside of Kingman near the Colorado river but I miss living closer to the salt river and the lakes there.
The whistling/chirping is antelope squirrels (ground squirrels).
Great first half of the video you're like a true movie director you left me hanging now I have to wait till tomorrow, I'm so excited to see part two!!! Thank you so much for these truly INCREDIBLE videos.....but they are more like exciting adventures👍👍

Great video of this beautiful hike. I was just there in the Sierra Ancha Wilderness two weekends ago. I was going back for Spring Creek hike this coming weekend, but now I will going for this hike you did here. Thank you for sharing your experience on the trail. It gave me a good idea of what to expect.
this is the #1 reason history lives on !
Because MEN like this have the interest and desire to explore and tell of the experience !!!
electronics may allow the information further than your local area, but would be useless without Man !
chigg on !

Your adventures are awesome!!!!! Your vids are so cool and I wish I knew about them sooner! I'm gonna be out in the Mojave pretty soon, as soon as I get my truck back!!!!!

When I was a kid I hated history, but now that I'm old I find your story telling is my favorite past time. You are a great teacher to me now. TFS your travels and adventures. 😎
I hope you have more Arizona videos coming. Beautiful landscape, very different from up here in Norway! More hikes & history please :)

You most definitely have a great persona on camera, Beau. I always enjoy watching your video's. Your not only entertaining, your informative too!
