I agree, although I never know how it got this English name? In French, Tourjours Gai Mon Chere" means "Always Cheerful, My Love" and references how Yoshizumi never gave up, "life is beautiful".
@@zxyatiywariii8 True, but remember it was Bo Svenson's hard-headed American military man that first had to beat the answer out of him (in an amazing sequence clearly shot in Antarctica) and later as a last request before he died (in an amazing sequence shot in one of the best White House sets ever assembled).
Beautiful song from one of the most depressing movies I've ever seen. But at least at the end of this one, there's a bare minimum of hope and this lovely and haunting song. In the two more depressing movies - On The Beach and The Day After - there's not even that.
It really is! I love the original Japanese version best, but I like the American version too. Such different endings! I'm a survivor of viral hemorrhagic fever; and somehow I find movies like this to be cathartic. Like how Japan loved movies about nuclear-induced monsters not long after they had survived nuclear bombs.
Yeah, I was strolling around youtube until I found an interesting title saying Virus. This was truly a hidden gem that I've been finding for years. I mean a movie about a full-on deadly virus was enough for me to go and watch it.
What's the time? Where's the place? Why the line? Where's the race? just in time, I see your face Toujours gai, mon cher You are the star that greets the sun Shine across my distant sky when night is done You'll be the moon to light my way Toujours gai, mon cher It's not too late to start again It's not too late though when you go away the skies will grey again In the time that remains, I will stay Toujours gai, mon cher No regret for the light that will not shine No regret, but don't forget, the flame was mine and in another place, in another time Toujours gai, mon cher It's not too late to start again It's not too late though when you go away the skies will grey again In the time that remains, I will stay Toujours gai, mon cher Halfway measures go unsung Take your pleasures while you're young Just remember, when they're done, Toujours gai, mon cher
Nobody has to agree with me but in my personal opinion it was not only one of the best films of it's time but one of the best films ever made in history and not just in Japan but everywhere else! Some pick on its flaws but the good aspects are so amazing that it isn't even worth mentioning once again just my opinion
Merci beaucoup ❤❤❤
😢😢😢😢
Le film est excellent
One of the very best pandemic movies out there, of course I am speaking of the uncut original version...
And Janis Ian sings this theme excellently!
Sure.

Outstanding Film!

Virus is such an underrated gem of a disaster film!

This feels like a James Bond song. I recently watched this film. Damn, so no happiness what so ever...
Incantevole!!!
Life is wonder. 人生は素晴らしい
An underrated melody.
What's the time?
Where's the place?
Why the line?
Where's the race?
just in time, I see your face
Toujours gai, mon cher You are the star
that greets the sun
Shine across my distant sky
when night is done
You'll be the moon to light my way
Toujours gai, mon cher It's not too late to start again
It's not too late
though when you go away the skies will grey again
In the time that remains, I will stay
Toujours gai, mon cher No regret
for the light that will not shine
No regret,
but don't forget, the flame was mine and in another place,
in another time
Toujours gai, mon cher It's not too late to start again
It's not too late
though when you go away
the skies will grey again
In the time that remains,
I will stay
Toujours gai, mon cher Halfway measures go unsung
Take your pleasures while you're young
Just remember, when they're done,
Toujours gai, mon cher
So take your pleasures while you're young
*This song makes me cry.*
Me too
Beautiful Melody

I love the concept of the mm88 virus. But, I do feel sad for the MC's girl in Japan. She had nothing but despair which made the movie shine even more.
@@mbr41 Yumi Takigawa sure put on a great performance you're absolutely right!
Thank you! I loved the movie and this song - it somehow made me feel so nostalgic. What a love story it was as well.
止まない雨は無い。
Fantastic! Thanks a lot!

Where can i buy this song, its hauntingly beautiful
このヴァージョンは後半部分が歪んで不自然になっていないので良いと思いました。
❤️
In 2021?
I just watch the movie for the very first time, its awesome and I love it.
Yes I've found it is that really her who sings this, is that her face without a name?
Jedi Mind Tricks!
