In most cases going from 11th to 1st gear is not necessary, however, in terrain that changes a lot (sudden uphill, sand, mud or just stopping at a red light in the city) we think that being able to quickly change gears in one motion is a nice benefit of the Gevenalle shifters. Of course, this video simply demonstrates how quickly Gevenalle shifts from one extreme to the other, where in most cases changing from 11th to, say, 4th gear will be enough. In that case, Gevenalle would still be quicker, just not as much
Why would I need to go from 11th to 11st gear in 1.5 seconds?
