I've watched this video probably 5 or 6 times since you posted it. The best beard trimming video ever. Simple and to the point.
3:40 Starts the trim
Love how everyone else makes it seem like a science...and you jus rock a cut with some walmart clippers...bravo and thanks from every regular guy that is jus tryn to trim a beard lol
Thanks for taking the time to post these videos. I love the way you style your beard. I just grew mine out for 4 months and your vids helped me to not butcher my beard at my first attempt at a major trimming. All went well thanks to your informative tutorial.
Appreciate the videos as my yeard is in need of major renovation. Your explanations are clean, clear and to the point...while actually trimming it. Good job.
great video , i am starting my beard journey , and im grateful for all the information i gathered, especially the fact that i could use a a cheaper clipper set and still achieve great results. thanks man.
I have seen this video many times, and I do follow the steps with a Braun trimmer that I got few years ago at a local Costco!. Have a great week, and Thank you again.
Great beard length. Thanks for the practical tips. Makes it seem so easy!
This is an awesome video. I have just started to grow my beard, only 5weeks in. I was not sure what I want and this is perfect and now I know what I want. Many thanks for this video. I have seen many of your videos and they are very good. From the UK by the way.
I also just got me some of that Artius Beard Oil and Beard Balm. Thanks for the awesome tutorial and discount code, Greg!
Just got my Wahl today! Took a little too much off the front but we'll try again next month. Thanks for the help man!
I've been clipper-cutting my hair for years. Now I get to do the beard. This is the video I needed. 👍
Your beard looks perfect to me. Every vid is stunning. I am a bit jealous. 😂
Thanks, man! I really appreciate that you watch my videos. Keep in touch.
First time watching. Subscribed. That was an awesome job.
What I love about this video is that it very plainly demonstrates how the trimmer cuts the beard using that technique with the guards. That's my biggest fears when trimming my beard, how will the trimmer cut the hair. Great video.
Rockin the beard man!🤘🔥🔥🔥
I used this "Summer Trim" for my first ever self-trim and it turned out solid as a rock. Compliments and gazes for days as the mask movement seems to be lifting away magically, haha. A great time for a man to be on top of his beard and grooming game! When you can be confident in your look and also control and tweak it to your liking it is so gratifying and powerful. Life changing non-tutorial right here. Greg is teaching life-moves! Thanks Brother!
This is great to hear. I appreciate you letting me know. 🙂👍
Great info and teaching. You Reeperbahn teaching us as you are a smart well rounded solid dude
Thanks Mark
No questions from me. It turned out to be a great looking beard
You’re a brave man! Nice job on the trim. 👍
Thank you, sir!
Thank you for the video I always look forward to your tips.
Well sir you got a perfect beard! I've been following your video's for a while now and it really help me to grow out my beard (yes, that's an old profile picture ;). Thanks again for your videos! Cheers from the Netherlands mate
An GREAT Shape-Up for an EXCELLENT Beard...Always a Pleasure, Greg. 🤓👍❤️
Such a precarious task made to look so easy. Great upload...
Thank you!
You are way more confident with that trimmer than I am...
Respect.
Another great tutorial
Thank you very much!
Awesome video man. I'm gonna trim mine like yours 😊
Dude...Thanks for all the tips......nice beard!!!
You make it look so easy!! You look great! Thanks for your tips!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You're welcome! I hope it's helpful.
I have a short beard. The problem is my beard is very curly, so I find that shaving against the grain and measuring extensions to form a v from cheeks to chin is the best for a curly short beard. Otherwise I would have to grow a beard for quite a while to straighten it correctly, so against the grain i noticed is best for naturally very curly beards , as for myself speaking lol. Great video to help!
Thanks you, I'm getting ready to cut quite a bit off mine and this really helps. Beard is looking nice BTW.
I have the same looking beard and the same loud ass red Wahl trimmer. I use a little wahl trimmer around my mouth and trim lines.
Nice video! My last trim did not turn out so good. I decided to go against the grain and took it down too short. Now I am in the regrowing faze. Do you have a good video for fading the sides with guards? I am not brave enough to go without a gaurd.
This works well with a perfect beard aka a Greg Boswell beard. So for those without a Greg Boswell beard just keep your expectations low. However these beard trimming videos are absolutely excellent.
Very nice trim Greg! Looks great and you're very handsome! I hope mine can grow that thick.
I straighten my beard due to curls, should it be straighten before I trim it? Thank you Greg- great beard you have.
I was using the GQ guys advice with the hat on how to trimm my own beard. He was more into the square look. This video for me gave me way better results. I owe you one, you saved me alot of money and suffering.
I know exactly who you’re talking about. I’m so glad this worked out for you!
Look Tomar it's you!
Dang, that's a killer bears there Greg.
Cheers and keep it safe out there.
If your growing your beard out, do you still trim the fly-aways? Or just let them grow till they're heavy enough to fall down? Becuase you want all the hairs as long as possible right
Oh Man !
Short Beard is really suits you Greg !
Great , Great !
Thank you very much!
How do you prep your beard before you start trimming? Do you wash it and dry it first and do you have to brush the hair outwards or keep it in your regular shape prior to cutting?
Greg, you should look into straight razors, they are a great way to keep the neck and cheekbones looking sharp.
You don’t mess around - I’d spend 3x the time doing mine lol. The new length looks great!
Thanks! I was totally winging it. I had no idea where I was going exactly. I just try to be smart enough to quit while I'm ahead.
I love your beard.
The 8 guard is an inch I believe..seems like it left much more than that. Well done!
Hey Greg, beard look beautiful, thank you 🙏
Thank you, sir!
I will watch this religiously....lol I need to first continue growing as much as I want before trimming.
Did you use a #1 guide or #1 1/2 for the sideburns before the video?
What can you do to keep the chlorine in the pool from drying your beard out?
EXCELENTE TUTORIAL Y UNA BARBA PERFECTA.
WHAT RAZOR IS THIS ORANGE COLOR?
You should try the Brio Beardscape dude that thing is worth it
Your channel is doing well, Good work.
AWESOME VID!
Thank you!
How about a beard that keeps on growing to a side, how can I fix that, make it go straight? Like mine under my chin just keeps on growing to the right or curls to the right, when it gets like 2 in. Long
Nice beard pal. I'm rubbish at shaping up. I'm aiming for a beard just like yours. I'm bald and have got quite dark and full growth like you. I end up going to the barber every 3 week to get the neck hair and cheek hair neatened.
Just followed this video to trim my beard. I had a longer beard. After doing it this way my beard looks alit better. Thank you.
That’s great to hear!
You truly are skilled at this. I wonder ff the average Joe like me can do this with the same dexterity. I have been successfully cutting my own hair for years. But the beard is brand new. Am wondering if you think I should get a barber to give me the first trim to establish the lines so I can then maintain on my own? I have every Wahl machine ever made! ;-)
Damn good summer beard
Thank you very much!
This is gold!!!!!!!
Wow, thanks man!
ur beard looks exactly like Kratos's beard from God of war.... btw that was the best triming ever, everything went exactly the way i was thinking of it. great job..... 👍
What is the real purpose of beard oil? Is it just for moisturizing or to control the "fly-away" whiskers that stick out at times? And is it OK to use it if you have Seborrhea (super oily skin)? My seborrheic dermatitis is so bad I use a dandruff shampoo for my head and beard every single day. Thanks.
Hello Brother , This is the first time i'm growing a full beard .. in my 12th week .. My chin beard is very slow , while my neck beard is growing fast which is awkward ! Any remedy for this please .
Is it OK to use lip balm for a mustache if I don't have mustache wax ?
Looks good 🔥
Thanks!
Looks great Greg.
I myself get bord and trim my beard from short to midium or large. Good to mix it up.
A man who understands me 👍
Greg do you by any chance have a code for artius man? Thinking of geting some bay rum beard oil as you said its so nice but live in the UK and shipping is €15+.
Seen in some of your other vidios you have a code to get money off
🤩 you got a great beard bro, I just don’t know how long it’s going to take for mine to grow.. enjoy
Looks great I like the video.
Thanks, buddy!
I also shave my head and this is exactly what I'm doing this evening, so it's hilarious that this video popped up right now! Looks great!
Good luck!
Thanks for the live beard trim Greg. You surely know well how your beard behaves, thumbs up for your confidence. I actually did prefer the longer stache / short beard stage. Champ result none the less. Cheers!
Very cool, thank you!
as someone who has a full beard except the part under the lower lips, i somehow understand guys who can't grow a full beard haha...it's just something feels missing (no pun intended) without it. Glorious beard mate!
Thank you!
Good job. I have something similar; everyone has different features and that length simply suits me best. The one inch beard is a classic.
I've done this so many times over the years and ended up with no beard... Lol it just takes time and practice
Greg what's you're thoughts on heated beard brushes? Do you think they are good or bad? Ps great video, thanks for sharing.
Thank you! I've tried a heated hair brush. I didn't like it. It seemed so unnatural. And it's just another step in the process I don't want to make room for.
dang, I started palpating when I saw how close you were taking that blade at the front of your beard. I'd spend at least 15 minutes longer doing this. I appreciate the opportunity to just shadow in on this though!
Thank you kratos for this tutorial
A tip for the hair on the shirt, just take the shirt off when you trim, then shower after trimming then come back and line it up with the razor.
Hi. Any reason why you used the guard with the grain, as opposed to against?
Going against the grain takes off much more and you're not really able to control how much hair you're taking off! Going with the grain you're able to control how much you're taking off and it takes off much less at a time
never seen your videos but had say that your thumbnail on my recommended videos made me think Tom Segura had lost weight 😂
So jealous. Wish i could grow a beard like that.
Hey bro nice beard im a first time beard grower just wondering how do i shape the chin to grow longer but keep the face smoother
I'm not sure exactly what you mean but to take a guess I would say, go one or two guards lower outside of the goatee area. Not sure if that helps. Thanks for watching!
I went to Dairy Queen today, and I ordered a "Pecan Mudslide".
I just wanted every one to know that.
Da Bos!
Let's go men
At what age did your beard get this thick ? How was your beard in your 20's if you don't mind me asking ? Great vid keep it up
I never tried to grow a beard till I was in my 40's. It always came in this way since I started growing one.
İ want ask please answer i would be happy . What lenght i must have to cut 8 guard 25 mm widt the grain ‘ so catch some hair from beard ‘ i quess 3 , 4 month beard grow ?
Yeah, about 3 or 4 months in
Your brave lol.... Looks good.
Thanks!
Hi. Good shape you got there. Question: if I have very similar hair type and similar face cut, how long will it take to grow a beard this long? Secondly are the hair on your cheek shorter length compared to chin hair or is it the same length of hair all over the face? Thanks
On the cheek he does. Look for the v shape or duck tail video. Shows you how he trims the sides.
From a clean shaven face it would probably take me maybe @ 2.5 months to get this. I used the same number guard over the entire beard area but in cleaning up the sides I did mow it down a little bit to add symmetry. I didn't use a guard to do that this time around. Thanks for watching, brother!
@DaCrunkwizard A true subscriber there! 😀👍
@Greg Boswell
thanks for the quick response brother.. greetings from Pakistan!! do let me know which number guard (mm or inches) to use to maintain this size? Like In the v shape video you used no 3
First comment 😉 very happy to see again
Thank you!
could you use a guard for the sides to trim the stray hairs? Or is it better to just shape without the guard?
The only time I use the guards on the side is when my beard is much shorter than I have it now
@@GregBoswell428 Okay, thank you. Your beard trimming videos are extremely helpful. I'd love to see more beard trim tutorials.
If you can... How many mm s is a number 8 guard?
25mm
Been growing my beard out for the first time in my life. How do you grow your check hairs without it looking patchy? It’s making me want to cut it off smh.
Not sure how to answer that. I guess either it naturally fills in or it doesn't.
So what is the difference if you trim with an 8 guard and go with the grain versus trimming against the grain? Will your beard be a lot shorter if you trim against the grain .
Yes, it will. But, I've actually done that in a video and the beard turns out great even at that length.
@@GregBoswell428 perfect. Thanks for the very informative videos . I'm presently at the 8 month mark of a Yeard , and I'll most likely go back to a medium size beard afterwards as per the boss/wife's wishes .
Gillette blue 2,the old one, with no flexible head but double razor is the best for the lines...I think is much more easier to do the lines than the one that you are using...especially ones on the neck...
I stopped using Gillette some time ago
Top.. Man.. 💪
Thank you very much!
do you think this tactic of going with the grain works on curly/wirey beards?
That’s an interesting question and one that I’ve wondered about myself. Honestly, I couldn’t tell you but my guess is that it would shape it. At least, I hope.
@@GregBoswell428 yeah, makes sense! Guess im gonna have to grow it out and find out lol thanks for the response, bro.
@@dinglemcflingle let me know what you find out
You’re wrong. Midnight Ride is the best scent from Artius Man (with Citrus Fire a close second). 😉 Beard is looking on point though, bro!
Those are really good!
Looking good; you beast.
3:44 how many millimeters does the caliper 8 have?
A #8 guard is 25mm
My beard just grows into a curly bush, messy and impossible to tame no matter what I do. Only the hairs on my chin grow downwards.
I have the same issue.
That’s me too lol
The only thing that I do differently than you is I fade my side burns into my bald head. Other that that I like it.
