Hi Joe. When I cook the mains like that, I take and poke a few holes in the bottom of the foil container and let the fat drip out on the fire. I like the burnt bottoms. I also figured out a use for all the sugar they give you. On the barley or rice mains, I sprinkle the sugar over them why it is cooking. It melts and mixes together. To me, it tastes so much better. The plain beef, I just fry it till it's crispy. Great review, buddy.
Great video!! I also think that the esbit heating isn’t always the greatest especially when heating tinned rations packed to the rim. I have never seen this ration before and it was great! Thanks as always for sharing!!
Thanks Matt! VOENTORG seems to have been more of a company back in the day. If you type that into eBay Russian equipment also comes up now too…not just rations.
Great review babe! The background noise wasn’t as bad as I worried it would be. Cannot believe you used that picture at the end. 🤣 I tried to get a good picture, but you moved. You just looked so content enjoying the ration for breakfast after filming!
The esbits are pretty inefficient but I typically like the burnt bits. I've never had borscht and would love to try some. Really glad those mains held up. Excellent Joe! Loved the outdoor review!
The thing that always irritates me about these russian rations is how inadequate the fuel supplied is. Your going to heat three rations plus tea and coffee on that in the middle of a Russian Winter? Seriously? I sort of wonder if your supposed to use the tabs to start a fire, then use the stand in the embers with the can on it. Which would be somewhat more effective.
Like I’ve mentioned before Leigh we used to use pots of water on a 2 burner Coleman stove to heat rations. One was for the pouches the other potable water for a hot beverage.
Because I’ve been buying rations for over 8 years or more now. I’ve been reviewing for about 2 years, most things I have are new again because they are old. Thanks for dropping by. 😁

Thanks Tracy! Interesting approach with the sugar. 🤔
Awesome review Joe
Thank you Miss Marilyn!
Great Review Dad! So cool that you’re taking the reviews on the road!
Thanks kiddo! Sorry I didn’t realize it was you…😯

Hi Laura, not a bad picture.
Unlike you I don’t believe I have a good side…that’s why I stay behind the camera…👹

I’ll make you some homemade one day brother!
@@bourbonstjoeNOLA Holding you to that dude!
Just like might Aunt used to make! I’ve also learned a secret…use the beet greens in the soup too!!! Amazing….🤤
@@bourbonstjoeNOLAwe have beets in the garden, you can make borscht first, to practice for Jerms! 🤣🤣
Thanks hun….
The stoves for me work best adding water to a canteen cup and putting the tins in it to heat over the esbit stove. Interesting ration
I always assumed it was strictly FOR heating canteen cups of water…
@bourbonstjoeNOLA lol yeah right hahaha
😬
Great review of a ration I haven't seen before. Your one-hand-skills will become legendary :). Tushonka is probably the best for long shelf storage.

Joe,
Bug repellent. Seriously.
Hindsight. Mosquito bites ITCH!
I don't understand why are you buying outdated mre and making review?
Because I’ve been buying rations for over 8 years or more now. I’ve been reviewing for about 2 years, most things I have are new again because they are old.
Thanks for dropping by. 😁
Because it's cool and different
Thanks Jake!
