Why is everything in English you ask When the Spanish-American War ended in December 1898, Spain sold the entire Philippine archipelago to the United States for $20 million. The Philippines had acquired a new colonial ruler. Great video Ivan! These ones where you go someplace new are the best. All the security is surprising but they have had issues with rebels. Also not suprising that the place is very Americanized since the Phillipines was a US colony from 1898-1946.
The Philippines is an old American territory.....Even their flag is red white and blue to show the friendship with America for helping fight off Spain.....hence why Philipinos have Spanish last names. Also, some of the biggest naval battles land and sea were fought in and around the Philippines with Douglas McArthur leading divisions of Philipinos and Americans against the Japanese.....America has fought two major wars fighting side by side with the Philipinos...
You Americans love to rewrite history to make yourselves look better lol. You attacked the Spanish and decided to invade the Philippines because they refused to do what you wanted in Cuba. Nothing to do with 'helping them'. Just like WWII where you helped yourself to all the gold and claimed to help Europe. In case you're in any doubt, most of them hate your country, they certainly don't share your delusions about the past.
The Philippines and the U.S. have a long history together. Bonds are strong. I think I might know why you are in Manila, but I'm not going to speak about it, until you choose to reveal the reason. Take care of each other. You're both wonderful people.
Evelina you looked very happy , relaxed and playful and having fun. You where glowing at times. Glad your enjoying this time away in a new place. Of course it go goes without saying you looking very beautiful . Keep having fun and enjoying yourself.
Woo Hoo! Fantastic! I have so many relatives in different regions, I miss it ❤ I’m happy you guys are making it to Cebu! I grew up in Manila -it is like New York now
A little known fact about Manila. In 1762, the British captured Manila, the capital of the Philippines. The Battle of Manila took place between September 24 and October 6, 1762, and the British won, leading to an 18-month occupation of the city. The British forces included royal infantrymen, sepoys, artillerymen, and marines
Love this! Thanks for showing us while you travel to another country. I met several people who lived in the Philippines on a writing platform that since gone out of business. Very nice people!
Great video, and that big fringe, floppy hairstyle makes you look so much younger. 🤣Have fun,and hope all your dreams one true . Watching from Australia.
The Philippines is a fun and beautiful place! A great country that drives on the Right side of the road! The fusion of Pinoy, American and Spanish influences created a unique culture and cuisine. Speaking of cuisine : Ramen is _not_ a Filipino dish. You should have sampled the local cuisine like Spicy (or Sizzling) Sisig, Pinangat, Dinuguan, Bicol Express, Ginataang, Mechado, or Caldereta. The traditional siling labuyo chili pepper would have put a smile on your face, I think. Then you could have finished your meal off with Tibok-Tibok for dessert.
Ivan, I think you are on the right track. I’m so proud of you. You crazy Russian. I love you. I did not watch the whole thing yet, but I am watching it now. Good man.
Good to know Ivan that you try to visit my country, the Philippines. I hope you’ll enjoy your stay first probably to Manila then to the best island resorts we can offer you. Palawan and Buracay are the premier places to go then there is Cebu and Siargao where many foreigners are staying. There’s a lot also of foreign bloggers living in the Philippines. There’s even a Russian/Filipino couple who also vlog and they own a resort in Cavite. I also recommend to Nikki a Russian blogger as well to visit the Philippines when he was in Vietnam at the time. Philippines and Thailand almost the same but the only thing that differed us there’s a lot of Filipinos who speaks English unlike Thailand. Yes, internet is a big problem in my country that’s the most embarrassing part that I can’t apprehend. We’re under Spanish occupation for more than four hundred years so you can see a lot of Spanish relics remained in the city and other part of the country.😄😄😄

You always seem to keep things interesting, even when you're eating 😊 Keep up the good work and hope to see you state-side sometime in the near future. Nice video Ivan/Evelina, I hope you get your business done without much trouble. I have a friend in the Philippines, he says it is really nice, and it sure looks that way. Thanks for the video and sharing your adventures, that fort was nice. I wonder if there is any good Ramen there. Oh well, have a great day, see you in the next video.
Interesting to watch the video. We lived in the Philippines 60 years ago. I was in Junior HS at the American Clark Air Base about 60 miles north of Manila. Remember the Jeepneys. I attended school with Chuck Yaeger's (the American test pilot who first broke the sound barrier in 1947) 2 daughters. As a boy scout, we teamed up with Boy Scouts of the Philippines and marched the route of the original Bataan Death March of WWII fame. I also remmeber seeing a large Bob Hope USO tour while at Clark. We did visit Manila a couple of times. I remmember the Walled City of Manila - was this the same as the Spanish fortress you show?
@@gailschultz9730 WW2 Clark was occupied by the Imperial Japanese Air Force. I was in Boy Scouts and we did the full retracing of the Bataan Death March in '65 and '66.
The Philippines used to be a territory of the United States ... that's why everything is in English, they have many trade agreements with the US and it would likely be a good place for you to open a US dollar account if you can....
Forget the sim card... go with the e-sim apps! This is no commercial but i recently used Airalo in both India and Ireland. Worked great. I installed it on my phone and my son's phone before we left and switched it on upon landing. I used to use sim cards, but won't use them ever again.
Hi Evelina and Ivan! I really enjoyed the tour of the Philippines! I would one day like too visit there! I’m sending you both love and greetings ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Mixing it up! Wonderful. Spur of the moment trip. Finally positive reaction to that beautiful country. Reminds me of Florida s Fort Pickens that housed an Indian Chief very sadly.
Makati isn't a typical city over there. Go a little further and it gets rough real fast. If you like that historical stuff, I recommend a boat trip out to Corregidor. Famous battle area of WWII. Steer clear of bungee jumping or zip lines. There's a zoo down at Olongopo City, on the old American base, Cubi Point. Lots of lions. If shopping, lots of fakes and clothes will shrink up a LOT on first wash, then start to fall apart. Have fun, I like visiting there, hung out at Blue Rock Resort in Baloy Beach.
awesome video! Good to learn new things about The Philippines. Interesting history you presented along with a little sense of how it is in Manila. Looks nice and clean for the most part. Likely food better in Thailand or maybe just not the right luck in places.
Ivan you are a crazy Russian. I'm so glad this wasn't one of your political views. I'm so happy you are in the Philippines. Just use it as a stepping stone to get to the. USA I can't wait to see you land in the greatest country in the world. I'm saying it because am a American. We are a part of great Britain. That's who made us and that's why we speak English. Not French.
It’s more modern than I expected! I never eat at food courts, have not had good experiences! I like the restaurants on the outside of mall. Have a good time!
I worked midnights in an ER with many fellow Pilipino nurses and techs. They's call home during the shift using VOIP because it was daytime over there. They often spoke Tagalog, mostly with their older relatives that lived in the provenances.
Yes, the medical community wouldn’t be what it is without our Filipinos working as rn, cna, med techs etc. my husband is in the medical field and so we’re so many of his family members. He even met a cousin by chance when he was doing procedures at a Houston hospital recently. He sent me a pic and his cousin looks just like his brother. Crazy. They are the heartbeat of hospitals all over.
Good video as usual. Love how he's talking about the wedding in front of his girlfriend. She could be at his 2nd wedding! Also, this is a world traveller. I've never seen someone eating with gloves! Very interesting videos (with humour) that he makes.
I’ve walked around in the Philippines with a golden automatic chronograph, solid gold earring and a sold gold pinky ring. I’ve never had issues and don’t think you’ll have issues if you stay in the more touristy areas.
Ivan - When I visited Manila; and stayed in Makati, I had a lot of "business lunches" in restaurants in the Asia Mall. You and Evalina should have eaten the Spicy Indian Curry at "Tandoor Indian Cuisine", situated right next to that awful "fake Japanese restaurant with terrible sushi" wherein you ate that horrible "cornstarch-taste ramen" dish. You passed right in front of said Indian restaurant at the 24:14 time code mark. If you like "American food", I recommend "Texas Roadhouse Grill" in that Asia Mall, as their food is very tasty.
My husband is Filipino. We went in October 22 to visit his family. We live in Texas. It’s not dangerous, it’s very friendly. We went to Manila than cebu bc my husbands friend was getting married. We went on some sightseeing adventures in cebu. I love Japan the most, Thailand and Vietnam. I wasn’t too impressed w Philippines but maybe if we weren’t so rushed on our trip I would appreciate it more. Nice to see family which was the main point of visit.
Hi Ivan, I like the new format of the Channel, keep mixing Russia's news and your daily routine 👍👍 stay safe, stay awesome 👊👊

My dad was at that base in WW2.
@@gailschultz9730 WW2 Clark was occupied by the Imperial Japanese Air Force. I was in Boy Scouts and we did the full retracing of the Bataan Death March in '65 and '66.
Make sure u try Filipino foods while there like lumpia, pancit, adobo n bulalo or sinigang.
The Philippines used to be a territory of the United States ... that's why everything is in English, they have many trade agreements with the US and it would likely be a good place for you to open a US dollar account if you can....
USA 🇺🇸 and Philippines are allies
AMERICANS love Philippines
The Philippines is very safe, I'm a Brit and I've been married to a Filipina for over 20 years. I must have been over 10 times and never felt at risk.
Forget the sim card... go with the e-sim apps! This is no commercial but i recently used Airalo in both India and Ireland. Worked great. I installed it on my phone and my son's phone before we left and switched it on upon landing. I used to use sim cards, but won't use them ever again.
Ivan, you are the BEST
I like it, mix it up, your ability to present is bigger than just one genre!
Beautiful country and people.
Hi Evelina and Ivan! I really enjoyed the tour of the Philippines! I would one day like too visit there! I’m sending you both love and greetings ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful! Def on visit list now
Mixing it up! Wonderful. Spur of the moment trip. Finally positive reaction to that beautiful country. Reminds me of Florida s Fort Pickens that housed an Indian Chief very sadly.
Great video. Hope your trip goes well.
Thanks!
Thank you very much!!!!!
He means Konstantine and Crazy Russian Sergey.
So they were funding russian war along with their viewers.
So they were funding russian smo along with their viewers.
Konstantin is an amazing Russian ,as are others who have escaped russia due to the smo.
Nfkrz ..konstantine..Ivan ..all liberals 🤢
To be clear i was referring to them not moving their google adsense off Russian banks even though there were so many warnings.
I have news for you, Ivan. This area of the Phillippines is way cleaner than New York City. New York City in many areas is dirty and smelly.
Exactly
The architecture is beautiful nice to see the visit to the fort.
awesome video! Good to learn new things about The Philippines. Interesting history you presented along with a little sense of how it is in Manila. Looks nice and clean for the most part. Likely food better in Thailand or maybe just not the right luck in places.
Good luck getting your thing done in the Philippines. Hopefully, you will get into the USA ASAP.
Not French.
Evilina should have surprised you with her own wedding dress at the church!
Great video Ivan!😊
Glad you and Nikki know what to do about UA-cam. Unfortunately others are stuck. I am spreading the word to them in hopes they get UA-cam fixed.
🚜💙💛
Like yer war content but this stuff is more interesting to me
Hopefully one day soon at the war will end and all we will have is stuff like this
Welcome to our country, the Philippines....enjoy glad you like it here.
Thank you very much!
It’s more modern than I expected! I never eat at food courts, have not had good experiences! I like the restaurants on the outside of mall. Have a good time!
YOU BETTER HAVE AN 'AUTOMATED' LITTER BOX!
This is awesome. I go to the Philippines twice a year. I hope you enjoy it. The people are great and it's not any more dangerous than any other place.
By the way Ivan, loved, seeing you and Evelina. Great video, keep up the good work.
Ivan in the Philippines! I recently stood in makati. such a nice area. The surrounding areas are just as nice. I loved the Philippines!
I'm an American with Scandinavian ancestry.. my step-dad is a Filipino USN SEAL (Ret).. nicest guy in the world.
Another great video.!!!
