@Athanasius Contra Marxism what's up with your name and stance ? I've heard and seen other people with similar stances, mostly white supremacists and or straight up nazi's.
Powerful as .uch as i like the richard and linda Thompson or Thomas version of Calvary this version holy fug. Someone made a music video of this years back ua-cam.com/video/RJlIo-WU_0E/v-deo.html there we go
[04 September 2021] Shocking, shocking, to hear this sung by an American. How did Peter Laughner - a junkie wild boy from Cleveland - find out about Richard and Linda Thompson, anyway?
He was a rock critic for Creem magazine and friend of Lester Bangs. Assuredly had access to all kinds of music/albums/recommendations from knowledgeable other critics
He WAS a wild boy, but also a musician's musician conversant with everything from Renaissance madrigals, through 1920s Ragtime through Rockabilly and Doo-wop, to the Proto punk they were inventing in Cleveland and Akron. He knew about MUSIC, and he knew what he liked.
@@vitolambruski [11 June 2022] I realize now that you're right; I should have remembered that Laughner wrote for CREEM (I seem to recall reading that about him, and I know he was a friend of Lester Bangs.
Covering Richard Thompson in the 1970's, before anyone else had heard of him. Quite ahead of its time.
I almost broke the bank buying this record lol, but it was totally worth it...
@Athanasius Contra Marxism I've been called worse. You'll have to try a lot harder than that if your trying to get under my skin missy.

@Athanasius Contra Marxism I remember hearing David Duke use that same excuse.
@Athanasius Contra Marxism if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck it's probably NOT a frog...
So very little info on Peter, he seems to be one of the fathers of punk? Does that sound right?

A crossover
Has this been released other than UA-cam? It's not on my copy of Take the Guitar Player.
Is your copy on vinyl or CD?
