It's the little details in a suit that make the overall appearance. Something that can enhance or diminish a look shouldn't be so easily overlooked and as fit men, we need to pay particular attention to these things. The shoulder on a jacket is one of those that gets missed in the overall make up of and outfit but for fit men, this can critical to our look. In this video, I break it down.
Thanks man you really helped confirm my decision going for unconstructed jackets
Thank you for the education. Helped me with my purge of a blazer to exchange with an unstructured one.
Yessir, I’m a huge fan of the unstructured shoulder
Great video and explanation! I always prefer an unstructured shoulder so the fabric moves and flexes with my body, I don't like the divot or having the material lift from my shoulders when I raise my arms.
Spier & Mackay and Suit Supply are the only "affordable" off-the-rack suit/sport coat makers that make the unstructured/unpadded or soft shoulders "Spalla Camicia". If anyone is aware of any other I would like to know. It's pretty much all I wear and like.
Thanks for the information..Amazing one
Great job of explaining the differences. Now I know thanks to you.
After watching your video, I am going to take all my suit to the Tailor. Thanks for your tips
I love the look of the spalla camicia with the grinze. I have more of a causal style and my shoulders are quite wide as well. The structured shoulders exaggerate my body as you said so the soft shoulder works very well for me
I’m just like you! I’m more into casual style than formal so spalla camicia makes sense for me
Finaly an expectation that makes sense and simple. I appreciate how you broke it down.
Thanks so much. Actually very helpful. The nitty and gritty of details that remain a mystery to most guys.
Great video! I might have to cover this topic as well!
Yessir, love to hear another perspective

Ian could you guide me if unstructured blazer can be made with a roped shoulder?? Or it is only possible with fused or shirt shoulder??
My blazer and jacket game always looks off and this video could Give me a few ideas to improve.
Glad I could help man
Great video, going to Nordstroms w this info!
Thanks for the information. I think I'm more of an unstructured guy.
Fantastic info! Is Spalla Camicia also known as the “Soft” shoulder? It’s very commonly used in the US so just wanted to know if It’s the same thing
No. A soft shoulder is just less padding than a structured shoulder. Spalla camicia also has little to no padding but at the connecting point, the shoulder element is seamed over the sleeve-head, which gives some 'artsy', sophisticated effect old school Napolitean tailors really liked. Personally my ideal is a soft shoulder with almost no padding with a little roping where the sleeve-head meets the shoulder element. Looks so elegant but unfortunately only crafty bespoke-tailors know how to do this.
Nice video but would appreciate a look underneath them
Unstructured all day!
All day every day!!!
Güzel❤
At first, I thought I saw Romelu Lukaku talking about jacket
