The signature song of Linda Ronstadt, one of the best female voices of the last 60 years. Unfortunately she had to end her singing career because she was hit by Parkinsons decease. But she so many good songs to listen to, that can keep you busy for many weeks!

Rolling Stone recently produced a list of the top 10 rock vocalists. The list had Freddy, Robert Plant...but no women. And Linda was one of those women that many said needed to be on the list. As popular as she's been over her career, she's still under rated. Great song.

the crowd knew the song as the bass started that's why they cheered. Linda was a diverse singer. from soft and sweet to big and powerful, incredible. She is total style, holds back then burst out like a fireworks show. Also divers in the music she did throughout her career, country and rock, opera, [yes, opera] Mariachi, Big band era, you name it. i can see the joy in your face over this performance.
Linda Ronstadt had two members in her band who were thinking about starting a band of their own and Linda was very instrumental and encouraging them to go off on their own and start one, she even recommended some people for them to look at and see if they thought they would be a good addition to their group, the band finally formed and called themselves 'Eagles'!

Loved this song since 1963 when I heard the original by Roy Orbison. Linda Rondstat did the best cover ever of it.

When i saw the name of the video you were reacting to, i thought - " I bet my favourite baby girl will move her shoulders to this one!" 💃🏿 😉 A beautiful song - and yes - definitely a song to slow dance to. This was written by Roy Orbison (another amazing singer) and he described it as a song about "being on the road" and being determined to get back sometime, to that place "where you sleep all day and the catfish play... Hello Morenikeji. I wish your audio of this song was better so you could truly hear the quality of her voice. You said you do not know what a bayou is. A bayou refers to a marshy outlet to a river or lake. Typically in the southern USA. Keep those smiles and videos coming. Peace.
I've seen this video a few times, and never heard it like this. The other times, it must be a different remastered video. This was like being there.
Linda was one of the greatest singers ever! Her and Dusty Springfield are noted to do covers as good or better than the original. One example is Tumbling Dice by the Stones. Also Tracks of my Tears and Ooo Baby by Smokey Robinson. They did a great duet. It's so Easy by pioneer Buddy Holly was covered by her. Oh, she has a "rock" side. Was inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame sure deserved it. Started with the Stone Poneys late 60s had great song Beat of a Different Drum.

It tells of a woman that wants to know her man loves her. In that song, the man says to her that she is the only one for him. "There's no way I could make it without you. There's no way that I'd even try." How's THAT, about love !!!

Someone refered to that guitar as a ""slide guitar"" - it is properly called a "'dobro"" - common in Cajun and some bluegrass. It always has twelve strings and is played flat like that...
