Hi. Love love love this video. Thanks for opening up a whole new world. I’d never done an appliqué quilt before and after watching your tutorial, made this for a special boys first birthday. Thanks so much for showing me how interesting quilts can be! I’m hooked!!!
Fabusous video Rob! I think when I first watched this a few years back I was a bit intimidated with all the steps and work. However, I just finished a fairly large one today. As I was reviewing this video I found the instructions PERFECT. Thanks so much!
A-MAZE-ing!!! You are BEYOND Genius, Rob. My kids were reared in Kailua on the beach and also spent MANY joyful hours snorkeling in Hanauma Bay. As Much as I LOVE this quilt design, your joyful spirit and the way you so generously explain your Brilliant design sensibilities are even More appreciated. Thank you! 🥰
You have captured my heart! My husband and I are scuba divers and this is my jam! I love it. I don’t think I have the patience to do this but it is beautiful!
I so love this quilt as an old scuba diver this is a must have to hang in my sewing room , Thank you Rob you are so talented we are lucky you share your talent with us.
Another great art quilt! I've bought 3 of your art patterns and your Reef Shark kit and just completed making a board so I can start making them. I really enjoyed seeing your work when I was at MSQC last June at the Academy. You're a good teacher and motivator! I look forward to watching all your videos! Thanks for taking the time to make them for us to enjoy.
so so amazing! thank you for all the info. so many times i want to try something and can't figure out the steps. you are so charitable to give this to us! thank you, thank you, thank you!
Love this so much. This would be great in a school library. I’ll add this to my list of to do projects. I appreciate your talents and willingness to share them.
Gorgeous quilt! I don't think I could ever do one but it sure is awesome! I have a tropical aquarium and this makes me think of it. This is so pretty! You are very talented!
Great tutorial! I have been inspired by you many times but this is my FAVORITE! I've been wanting to order your shark cutter and I just did along with replacement blades and the fish fabrics. I can picture using this technique with many of the other fantastic digital prints - flowers surrounding a cottage - a birch forest. This is going to take me from applique to art! Thank you Rob.
Loved your kits you did and sold at Quilting on the Beach at Karens and Rob shop> Quilt Passions, in Kona Hawaii. You always had a full class. Had a blast. I still buy fish fabrics;)
Thanks for such a great tutorial! I really enjoyed seeing the collage quilts you'd made at the Trunk show in Sac a few years ago. This is AWESOME! Merry merry!
I MIGHT CHEAT a little and put some shells & machine embroidery on mine. Only going to make a smaller wallhanging, & see how I do. Thinking about opalescent Mylar jellyfish.
Hello Mr.Rob. Love yor idea, this is so awesome . So what about saving dark purple fabric . First cutout lite purple like you do then put liitle dark accent all over . I think you can save more fabric and don't do lots of layers . Just an idia. Thank you.
awesome thing you do ... i know that this was done a few years ago but some of the links are broken and dont work current is there away to access the information to this quilt
I wish I could send you the picture, but I have a similar wall hanging, from about 2003, with a pond scene, from butterflies, cat tails and turtles above the waterline, to colorful fish with button eyes in the water, down to rocks and weeds at the bottom. It was named "Texas Tank" from the ponds (called tanks) on the ranches surrounding the land we bought in Texas.
i so want to make this quilt i just bought some jelly rolls that are sea/ocean but i would like to add a couple of sea turtles and sea shells in honor of my dad who worked to save the sea turtles and collected sea sells he loved the ocean as I do so could you help with a sea turtle
What brand / color is the light blue water? I don't think it is listed on the other site with the supply's. This is a wonderful educational video. I will be purchasing some of the supplies once I get a response on the question for the water. Very excited as I am just starting appliqué and finding this site is a God send!
