I love how this take on 3-5 makes Larry so much more important, it really helps embed and represent the friendship of Nick, Edgeworth and Larry. I must say, this is quite spectacular and deserves a lot more attention. For only 600 views, this is some amazingly high quality content that I appreciate even being able to see. They really flanderized Larry's character in aa3, they turned him from a well-meaning yet emotional doofes. into a complete self pitying tool, that literally Blackmailed Iris. tanked the already low self esteem of a 9-year-old. and last and agueably least, practically sexually hurrassed every girl he comes across.
Yep. They tell us in the first game that Phoenix remains friends with Larry Butz because his heart is in the right place, just unlucky and not the best at reading the room-- Then I guess the writers decided "You know what, let's make this perfectly reasonable and fun character into a total jerk!" There's just really no reason for them to have wasted such an interesting character

I hate and love this? Somehow watching Edgeworth evaluate what Phoenix means to him made me speak to my phone like "Miles no! Phoenix could never despise you for your fake suicide! He was distraught you took your own life but it turned out to be a lie!" But it feels so in character and I love Larry here because he just feels right. Very well done!
This is really well done! It feels like such a natural transition from what we had in the game. It fills in all the blanks perfectly too. I'm just gonna take it as canon now :3
I always knew I wanted more Larry character development (because we FORGET HIM SO MUCH),, but THIS???? IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND WAY MORE THAN I COULD’VE HOPED. He ACTUALLY feels like a real person instead of an annoying little gremlin(I like the energy most of the time, but it really wasn’t appropriate in this moment),, and I love seeing internal dialogue from him. This iteration of 3-5 shows how the three of them could’ve been friends in 3rd grade,, especially between Larry and Miles since for me, it’s really hard to imagine them ever getting along XDD Your art also looks amazing! It’s distinct from the AA artstyle but not so much that it’s jarring when paired with the original sprites. I GASPED when I saw the background images with hypothermic Phoenix, they’re so nicely done! UGHH,, can’t wait to binge this series since I’m a year late to the party!

This is so damn nice. You are giving the whole Frindship between Larry, Miles and Phoenix a deeper meaning and more personality. Especially Larry. I can feel his suffering and I buy it. But also the insecureness of Edgeworth about his feelings to Phoenix. He experienced a lot of emotional excitement the way to the Hospital and I liked it, that von Karmas methods are kind of useful in this kind of situation. The characters are Spot on and I like to see more of this. Great Work! 👍
oh man, this is the best content i've EVER seen in this fandom. not an exaggeration. you reached much deeper emotionally than the games ever did, and that usually comes with writing people out of character, but with your work i felt like each and every line could be canon. Larry Butz was the last person i expected to cry about from this franchise, yet here i am, tears streaming down my face... this is my headcanon for the "forbidden hospital scene" now. thank you. (also. certain um... themes are hitting close to home. why does it feel like Larry Butz is telling me personally to confess my damn unnecessary feelings to someone who's not unlike a Phoenix Wright to me... i might actually do it partially because of this vid, haha)

Honestly, that may be the most sound explanation for the writing of Larry's character in canon AA that I've heard yet. I still struggle to fathom why Larry s character potential was completely run through the mud :'>

I am adjusting how some other characters are treated in this case (In writing Part 5, I am currently rewriting some of the lowkey Gumshoe abuse PFPFFF because that man is a saint), and later on I'm also just throwing in some things I would have liked to see called back to (such as the missing evidence from the end of Justice For All) It's going to be a lot of work, but I already have a lot of the stuff lined up on a Google Doc :> It's mostly a matter of putting it together (with some custom stuff and rewriting of course)

Also really like how this expands on the time between Nick falling down the bridge and Edgeworth going to the Detention Centre, with Larry and Miles going to the hospital and that whole scene with Parham Mettick is really good too (only just now got the name lol) and the art too… this is overall fantastic! Hey, it's actually pretty nice how you made just some backstage dialogues to really well cover up his behavior. The story remains mostly unchanged, but the character is now much better. P.S. Edgeworth caring about emotions feels odd and normal at the same time.
Looking back on it, I think there were some things I could have done better with some of the "backstage" Larry stuff, but I'm very glad people seemed to like it. As for Edgeworth caring about emotions, it's mostly just an excuse for me to take the edge off of Ace Attorney characters being fundamentally emotionally constipated pfpff--
