    From what I've read and was told from my local Eurocharge tuner, the air intake does not provide any performance and possibly would be a negative. Either a downpipe, exhaust, or a bigger turbo for actual gains. I got the ECU and TCU tune from Eurocharge. If you want a blow off sound, the ASV from Weistec is fantastic.

    The noise for the performance exhaust is not piped in through the speakers. It is actually routed up into the cabin near the fire wall so that it pumps into the cabin naturally when the valves open. I just got the Renntech tune without any other mods rated at 425hp/426tq. Definitely feel the difference, and it was effortless. I traded in a Plum Crazy Widebody Scatpack Challenger for my GLA 45 AMG. Definitely, an upgrade for a daily. I've owned 11 cars or so the last 5-7 years, and I don't trade them in unless I break at least 25k miles. I'd say while the Scat felt like a sledgehammer, and the GLA 45 AMG is like a Katana. Both have their own unique style, but man the GLA is just so much easier to live with. Being able to go under the radar more often is so pleasant. The Plum Crazy WB Scat as my wife described it as "exactly what a woman feels like walking around with cleavage" haha

      Damn 11 cars in 5-7 years and you put 25k on all of them? We must have pretty similar taste in cars because I got rid of a Camaro 2SS 1LE for my 2021 CLA45, but I do regret that now as I'm beginning to not enjoy the car as much after the honeymoon period, my 2018 CLA45 was much more fun. Also, the performance exhaust package deletes the second resonator as well as adding the intake pipe sound tube. I haven't seen if the button actually opens the exhaust valve at the muffler, or if it just opens the valve into the intake sound tube, but it seemed in my 2018 CLA45 (when I had it) that it did get a little louder on the outside when I had the exhaust button on. In my 2021 CLA45 I know for sure that the exhaust button just activates the speaker audio and doesn't do anything to the exhaust itself, the only way to get the exhaust valve to open is to be in Sport+ or Race mode and above like 3k RPM. They really neutered the sound of the exhaust between the 2017-2019 generation and the new 2020+ generation, it's honestly kinda sad and makes me want a 2017-2019 CLA45 again, or to go back to a 2020+ 2SS 1LE.

      @@stevenreddy6842 the 2020+ generation did not appeal to me, as the GLA went full C.U.V. and no longer kept the hatchback look + feel. The 2021 CLA does have a gorgeous interior, which I think matches the new C300. I had the chance to drive a 2024 C300 when I did some service a few months back , and I think can see how it would get boring over time. Sure it looks cool, but all the features have been available in the last decade of car interiors. We are just headed into a 'more + larger screens era.' I remember when car guys were complaining about touch screens coming into cars, and how expensive it was going to be "if they ever broke." Now we have a market filled with aftermarket screens head units; I am not saying they don't break or can't be expensive, just pointing out the ridiculousness of the past, and that it is normal now. Needless to say, I skipped the interior for more of the last gen performance, and functionality...i.e. the Sport Exhaust actually bends slightly up and into the cabin near the fire wall for more noise. Every video I have watched - and I think I've watched every GLA video online has mentioned this, and I have been under the car several times.
      We must have similar taste! haha I had a 2015 V6 RS Camaro a few years back. I think of that Camaro chassis, and handling still to this day. It was the best driving car I think I have owned on the street - I cut the muffler off and put in two Hellcat resonators, it sounded like an F1 car at WOT. People would hear the car, and be impressed. Until one day some kid looks over, and just as he sees the RS badge he says "ahh, it's only a V6" I didn't care, it was such a great driving car. The Scatpack WB was fun, but just didn't have a lick of nimble, just a mix pf rush and slop. I had a Fiat 500 Abarth for a little while, felt exactly like the GLA 45, but at 20% volume vs 100%. It was a convertible, great audio with the Beats by Dre Speakers. Still have a 2dr Wrangler lifted with 37's. Gah, the list goes on. My 2018 GLA 45 right now fits the majority of my lifestyle requirements so we shall see how long it lasts. So far the Renntech tune has been flawless with about 1100 miles on it since I got it.

      @@DayDreamSpaceship Yeah the new CLA and GLA are more Mercedes and less AMG, if that makes sense. They may handle slightly better and the new differential with torque vectoring gives them much better traction, but those things aren’t even felt while driving. The previous generation felt and sounded more fun and that’s really what matters.
      I also owned a 2015 V6 RS, that was my first car, I ended up selling it and leasing a C300 because I was like 5’6” throughout high school and couldn’t see shit out of that Camaro. Luckily I’m 6’1” now and the new Camaros have blind spot assist (in the 2SS) so I don’t have any issues with visibility. I can’t decide if I want to go back to a 2SS 1LE or a previous gen CLA/GLA45, I really enjoyed both of the ones I owned.

    Idk if you touched on it but how do you achieve that turbo sound when you let off?

    • @AlwaysAuto
      @AlwaysAuto  4 місяці тому

      With the 2018 and up they added a bigger blow off valve from factory so when you get an air filter you can hear it much louder. If you have a 2015-17 then an after market blow off valve will do it!

    Can you fit an upgrade air intake and nothing els on an AMG engine and would there be any benefits

    • @AlwaysAuto
      @AlwaysAuto  6 місяців тому +1

      There would basically just be noise enhancement, but in terms of power maybe 5-15 hp nothing crazy. I did notice that the response time was improved from just adding the intake without having a tune on it yet.

      @@AlwaysAutoI just messaged you on Cafax. I’m serious interested. We’ll have to talk about the modifications. Do you have stock downpipe or at least a cat? I know a place that doesn’t check under the car but do under the hood. As long as it can be made passable easily by swapping out to stock downpipe or if it can pass with the downpipe you have and stock tune that would go a long way to paying full price you are asking. I have a friend who can do it for me.

    Hey man, I just bought a 2016 model with 59000km, can you please explain in more detail all the upgraded tuning you did and how much it cost, tuning it to more hp is so tempting, and something I'm looking to do for my car, already sounds good as it is but I want it to sound like yours, cheers mate

      Congrats man! I believe the Eurocharged ecu tune was around 1200 plus the cost of the handheld tuner. The Weistec tcu tune was around 700. As far as sound I just have the catless downpipe and resonators deleted, stock muffler!

    • @stevenreddy6842
      @stevenreddy6842 6 місяців тому +1

      The black with yellow accents is part of the AMG Performance Studio package, lovingly dubbed the "Yellow Night Edition", which was only available for the 2018 model year. They are quite rare and owners really like hanging onto them so they don't show up for sale often. However, I doubt they are worth much more than any other highly optioned CLA45/GLA45, especially since the color scheme and livery is considered a bit gaudy by traditional Mercedes standards.
