    An important part of regular maintenance is to clean out your front radiators.
    To do this you need to remove the bumper cover and radiator ducts. In this video I show you step by step how to do it yourself.
    I also took the opportunity to replace the old retaining screws for stainless steel fasteners replacing
    - part number 999.073.061.02 for 4.8 x 16 in stainless
    - part number 999 073 198 09 (superseded by 999.073.227.09) for 4.8 x 19 in stainless
    Also refreshed some Speed Nut 999.591.699.01

    This is definitely the most detailed video I’ve seen.

    I really like your videos! I just sold my E46M3 ( which I am a bit sad about) to get myself a 996.2 GT3, and you are motivating me to do some fiddling with it myself!!
    In another video you were talking about the 996 community being very good, is there a forum/platform you would recommend?
    Cheers! :)

      So far just the front bumper; I know the rear bumper cover also uses the same hence I've got quite a few!
      Basically anything with:

    I tried this before the weather broke and there was 1 screw at the base of the wheel arch I rounded off and now can’t get off to do the job! I need to get the car higher to really get to it and replace with stainless ones! 🤦🏻‍♂️ gutted. It’ll be new rads next season I think now 😑

    Thank you for the really helpful video. Is there much in the way of positional adjustment of the bumper, or is it only possible for it to sit in one place? I ask as my bumper seems to sit too far forward, creating too large a gap between it and the bonnet. I'm hoping I can simply loosen all the fasteners and reposition.

    • @TheThrottleCable
      @TheThrottleCable  3 роки тому +2

      Zero movement for adjustment - the fasteners hold it firm only in one place. It’s possible your bumper wasn’t put back correctly so well worth removing and replacing to check 👍

    I like the idea of stainless fasteners... I've replaced my rusted arch liner fasteners with OPC fasteners but suspect they won't last long before rusting again. Where did you get the stainless fasteners from? Do you think painting the heads is an option so they don't stand out too much against the arch liner?

    • @TheThrottleCable
      @TheThrottleCable  3 роки тому

      That's not something i'm familiar with. The headlights are essentially a sealed unit, although you can split them by heating up the glue. I'm sure on one of the forums like Rennlist or 911UK someone will have made a project of this - worth a look

    Hi. Would you consider putting some mesh at the front vents? I’ve taken my radiator off last week to find tonnes of debris and discover some leak masked by rubbish pressed between the both radiators. I had to replace my right radiator and also meshed my air intakes.
