It's great to see Mako Ta brought to life! It was one of the most interesting story arcs in the Marvel line and helped explain the Mid Rim Retreat a little.
Mako-Ta is probably the most crippling defeat the Rebellion suffered through the entire Galactic Civil War. Even more than Hoth. And for those wondering from where this events come from, they should take a look at the Star Wars comic series by Marvel from 2015. I already commented it in another video, but seeing how well you make space battles, you should also take a look at the Second Extrasolar War from Killzone. Again, a relatively short conflict with a relatively simple story, but with a lot of thought put on the worldbuilding, the previous political and historical tensions, and the whys behind every action of the whole conflict. In general, the Killzone universe it has a very interesting lore.
I still think their worst defeat was when they flew 1000 X-wings from a lucrehulk straight at the death star and didn't bother evading enemy defences and lost everyone, that was a stupidly great story
I viewed the Rebel fleet as 'sort of' Tito's Partisans in Yugoslavia. Axis forces greatly outnumbered them and often times dealt them severe defeats that darned near exterminated their forces more than once (Operation 'Schwarz' being the biggest and most brutal); nearly 2/3s of the forces where killed, captured(and usually killed afterwards) or wounded (and thousands of rebel supporters being executed as well) but by focusing their forces in one spot, the Partisans broke thru the encirclement and fled for the remote far east of the country. There, the survivors launched a series of limited offensives to show the populace 'we're still here!' and also helped clear out Axis forces from their region, creating an actual 'free zone' they wholly controlled and rebuilt their manpower. Then they began a series of offensives against smaller, outlying Axis positions and garrisons until.... (Naturally I'm aware the rest of the things ongoing in WW2--Germany's manpower being stretched between the East, The West and the South; the Partisans getting military support from the Allies etc)

Really? You think the Rebels only having 13 ships is less realistic than a single planet being able to not only drive the Empire off their world after their population was genocided, but also being able to break the Imperial Navy's blockade of their planet without a fleet? Never mind hold out against several Imperial counterattacks, and also keep their space lanes free open enough to mobilize a war economy and produce dozens of capital ships for the Rebels in only a few years? Get real; even EU writers acknowledged they handwaved Dac's survival in the Imperial era by writing in the lame excuse of "because Palpatine ordered us to leave it unmolested so he could use the Death Star on it."

With the biggest idea around it being that with the loss of the Death Star and some of the Empire's top leaders killed, the rebels wanted to capitalize on the moral shift. The destruction of the Death Star killed off most of the higher leadership of the Empire. At least thats my idea, I have not read any of the new novels and comics, but thats my idea how such a attempt might have been justified. Look at the seperatist movement.
@@18Krieger All good points and as I mentioned there were other ways they could have capitalized on these gains, such as expanding their hit and run tactics to encompass assaults on multiple areas throughout the galaxy at the same time then withdrawing and doing it again, forcing the empire to continue to stretch itself thinner and thinner in a desperate attempt to save face as the ultimate power in the galaxy, instead of using their new resources in mounting a campaign in a single area where the emperor could order his much more superior forces to crush them. Also, the Separatists had the advantage of already have a large military at the outbreak of the war, even if they had to retrofit a lot of it, and the Republic had to build up and organize its own armed forces for a galaxy wide war, giving the Seps time to entrench themselves and launch some attacks. Also, the Separatists had the advantage of already have a large military at the outbreak of the war, even if they had to retrofit a lot of it, and the Republic had to build up and organize its own armed forces for a galaxy wide war, giving the Seps time to entrench themselves and launch some attacks. The Empire already has a large and well-equipped military ready to engage and crush any enemies that appear. Maybe I'm going into this too much but hey Star Wars is engrained in my soul 😁 And can't help comparing the way the new canon portrays the war to how legends did.
This Vader guy sounds like quite the powerhouse.
Another superb video with ever improving graphics!
More star wars please
3:40 - _why does Alderaan still appear on the map_ *with* _a planet?_ lmfao 😂😂😂😂😂
This was basically a way for them to kill off all the generals from R1 SWNH
Love all your videos! Thanks for all your great work!
Love the music, you made it yourselves? I’d listen to it on repeat if I could lol.
Love the channel! Would love to see Battle of Geonosis
I had friends on that Death-Star. 🚀💥💫😆
Perfect educational video. Thanks for filling in the gaps.
Great to see the comics getting representation.
Do you think you guys could do a video or a series on the Legacy of Kain games?
10:54 - "That's three you owe me, junior."
Did Disney try to ignore the CIS remanent? They are natural allies with the rebel alliance. They should have some ships to offer...
@@steelshanks1265 CIS remnants were very weak. Battle droids were old and outdated with terrible technology, 90% of the droids were shut down nearly instantly by anakin on mustafar. Only a few refused believing it was a republic trick then were hunted down and easily destroyed
Bought, borrowed, traded, salvaged, stole and scrounged. The only way to supply a rebellion in its infancy.
Will you expand and explore more of "Heroes of the Dark" lore or was it just a one video ? Just asking , glad that you will cover First Age of Middle Earth.
P.S: You need to update your Game of Thrones playlist with "Rise of Young Wolf-War of Five Kings"video since its missing.
That's a huge ship!
... hires an archeologist... To build him a droid army... An... Archeologist... 🤔
This makes me wanna play Battlefront 2 now 😁👍
I'd love to see a series with the tone of Andor set after the battle of yavin. It would be like battlestar galactica but leading to hoth
I know it's more niche than Star Wars but I would love to see you guys cover Twilight Imperium.
I love that kings and generals have started this channel, but I would hope and expect you to use map backgrounds that are accurate.. the one used here has planets WAY out of their positions in the galaxy..
Love your content. I hope that you may cover some of the battles in the R.A. Salvatore novels set in the Forgotten Realms.
I can hope, can't I? 😁
You mean we could have had all of this in the movies?!
I love your animations. Keep it going with Star Wars, please!!
3:33 is one of those moments when, despite after leaving it behind years ago, League of Legends still scars your memories and influences how you see life XD
In this case imagining a Rebel General. You could show me a portrait of General Draven, other Draven's face and voice is still going to be auto edited over him for giggles in my mind XD
proceeds to dab on Imperial production capacity, Imperials hail demanding to know just one thing: why. The only response:
"Welcome to the Leeeeeeeague of DDRRAAAAVEENNNN >:D"
Effects are great! Keep it up!
I understand that this is based largely on comics, and that the Wizards and Warriors channel is not responsible for it, but the quality and continuity of some of the plot points here makes the Sequel Trilogy seem better by comparison than it deserves to be.
How?
Great vid guys.
Awesome vid!
You guys really ought to look into the old games Freespace and Freespace 2. They'd be great for this sort of content
Still hoping for a star trek video some day.
Perhaps one day, these Comics set in-between Episode IV and V, will be translated into epic movies like the Marvel movies.
Great work. Thx :)
I hope that later you will cover Clone Wars, do you have any plans about doing so?
Many of us strongly feel that you should label your Star Wars videos as either DISNEY CANON or LEGENDS (Preferred by many).
They said so in their first Star Wars video that they would only cover the Disney canon stuff
@@theawesomeman9821 How Deeply unfortunate for them for making such a terribly tasteless decision.
@@TheIMadManI Asking for labels is coping..... Ok.
@@GiovanniTheDark If you don't like it, make your own channel lol
@@ThatDragonGuy The vast majority of people agree with me and would rather see this channel prosper by making better decisions.
