It’s tragic, Shorty, that the more capable the hardware and gaming equipment gets, the worse the gaming experience has become. The best gaming experiences now come from emulation technology that allows 15 year old titles to run on modern computers.
I miss buying dlc packs for call of duty. At least back then there was an actual incentive to try and produce something good.
We didn't know how good we had it when all we had to buy was a $15 map pack every few months

I don't, you can't find a lobby for dlc maps 6 months after they come out
living in small population countries were an issue when it came to trying to find dlc multiplayer map lobbies after a month.

Yeah now that I think about it, I only know enemies are enemies in cod cuz they have either no name plate or a red name plate above their head if I get close enough. And even in hard core they have to have blue dots over teammates heads. That’s actually kinda insane from a gameplay perspective, it makes no sense for competitive play especially 😮
It would also be really nice if the game had any sense of identity but now every game needs the most unique looking character models so you feel special since you payed money usually lol
I want my ww2 games to be immersive not have snoop dogg in it. I want my modern shooters to have bad ass soldiers, not Santa clause or furries lol
Modern FPS publishers are so out of touch, in their craze for selling skins they completely forgot about the importance of easily identifiable factions. Nothing breaks the immersion more than having to wait for player icons to pop up. It is also an unfair advantage for those who happen to get their icons pop up faster. But I've pretty much given up on the idea of a simple faction based shooter ever coming out of a tripple A studio ever again. So once MW3's life cycle wraps up, I'm signing out of new online PvP shooters. I'll stick to single player and coop games. Might revisit Star Wars Battlefront 2 though.

I remember when everyone complained about paid DLC and said they would rather pay for something optional like cosmetics
I don’t mind the skins but they’re charging so damn much for them and the quality of the games doesn’t reflect the money they’re making that’s where the issue is.
Games have had skins but you either had to earn them threw gameplay and not have to pay for them
Skins were fine when it didn’t add a benefit and you could always tell what them they were. At least go like green and black. Regardless of the character, overall color scheme matches the team. If they added auto map rotation to private/ offline play to COD, I don’t think I’d play online again. The bots at least don’t cheat, and since it’s bots, COD doesn’t screw with your game.
I wish they added small buffs for equipping charms on guns

Man I've been out of gaming for a couple years I'm playing all the older games I have access to thru PS premium & the library I've accumulated over the PS4 era.
Honestly I blame the big UA-camrs they always spend hundred of dollars on skins then still complain about the game

I think the First Person Shooter game to have the best Team Recognition was Team Fortress 2 from 2007
The Team Recognition is so good that You can take a screen of the game then remove all colors to just be black and white and You still would Who is on the Red Team and Who is on the Blu Team
Of course now a days after all the cosmetic items have been added now is much harder to know Who is Who but still I think the Team Recognition of Team Fortress 2 is still one of the best ones in the FPS Market
I recommend You looking up the Development Commentaries of Team Fortress 2 it gives so much in sight into Their thought process and I wish more games would have Development Commentaries inside Their games...

Watching a video on game sequels that did good but failed shed some light on why games now have gotten this way. A commenter was explaining in vast detail how basically because of greedy shareholders and enabling laws a company tries to make as much money as they can in the first two weeks NO MATTER WHAT because if they’re return on investment (ROI) isn’t some stupid big number they created they can sue as if they were killed out of their money. This is regardless of the game making consistent sales monthly.
Micro transactions aren’t necessarily intrusive paywalls or change the identity of the game either. Black ops one period was this. You paid a reasonable amount of money for new maps, weapons, and possibly in game skin packs. You could drop a flat number on a season pass or buy things as you get the money. For honor: you can grind for characters or outright buy them seasonally
Haven’t played call of duty since BO2 so when I seen all these skins of random shit I knew call of duty lost its identity kinda sad to see
And all skins and cosmetics was free to download and install :)

Man, I just went through my backups of when I used to play CoD (2003) for game file footage of MP, but I couldn't find them (just found a bunch of screenshots, like a gig of screenshots). But if you want to use my Single player footage for context you can (It's at 1440p Res) and I just uploaded it last year, also anything after part 2 (I didn't know the brightness was dark until I then). I would still play 2003 if there were servers still up with no mods (they ruin the experience and sometimes break the game unless you know how to delete the files that were downloaded, and it can be a pain in the ass if you can't find that 1 file they buried deep in the folder). You can still buy the game on steam and works with win 10, not sure about 11 but I'm assuming it will work fine. If I was more confident about port forwarding, I would set up a server, but I've gotten bitten in the ass in the past. It's much better if used on a dedicated server with low pings.
Say you did get the game and liked it enough to set up a server and posted it on your channel letting people know about it. I would diffidently join up. It might be as simple as "if you build it, they will come".

It's even worse in season 4. There are skin pairs I think. That hooded skins. I can't tell the difference. I doubt there's any difference at all
To me the last call of duty that was really good was modern warfare remasterd I had so much fun in shamrock an awe event but I don't think they will do that again with a older remaster with the multiplayer because it took so many out of infinite warfare.
I remember getting Medal of Honour on the PlayStation, With the DreamWorks logo at the beginning, it was like Saving Private Ryan the game. There really needs to be a UA-cam channel that only covers old time games...
If only someone would make that channel and ignore modern day multiplayer games and just play through the old classics!

I think it all started when the ability to purchase and download games through your console/PC came. Before that, they were forced to make a product that was good enough to make us leave the house to go get it, or get our parents to drive us to the nearest store to get it, which if you grew up with a dad who is anti video game, that was a difficult task hahaha. Now, we can purchase a game and have it in two clicks without even getting dressed.
I was a CD boomer for the LONGEST time and then within the last 6 years I’ve started to see there really is no benefit. I used to be able to say “im saving storage space” “I can wait for it to be cheap at GameStop” Even having the ability to take it to GameStop when I don’t play it much isn’t worth. I’d rather play it again years later instead of some bullshit “remaster”

Edit: playing spiderman shattered dimensions, just doing challanges is enough to unlock every upgrade for every character. The game is 6-7 hrs long, it respects the players time. Its not overly bloated

😂 This was great. I played the very first Socom online years ago. First search & destroy ever. You had guns depending on whether you chose seals or terrorists. And you couldn't change attachments, no camo, no micro trans. Each side had equal everything.

Old call of duty was fun because people would have to do challenges to get camps for guns cause varying gameplay in every lobby. Now people can just buy their favorite skin on their favorite gun just to try as hard as possible... in game shops and meta gameplay killed multiplayer games. Not just cod
