I love this movie, but yeah, the whole “I’m not a prince” thing does seem like a plothole, even in light of the fact that Jafar later exposed Aladdin. Because Jafar was only a sorcerer or sultan at the point when he used his magic to expose Aladdin as a mere thief to Jasmine, which the film explicitly acknowledged that a sorcerer is much weaker than a genie via Jafar’s last wish. Daniel Gehring , my guess the reason he didn’t do that cause people can be evil and greedy as we saw in Jafar and a example of that happens in the series when Iago was a genie an made everyone rich and it backfired
@Ronald McDonald Right? You'd think by now one of these memetards would realize it doesn't even make sense. If nobody says nothing, then everybody says something. RIP reading comprehension and grammar.

You also forgot to mention that the lamp could've been given to either Jasmine and the sultan, and they could've wished Genie free. After both maybe wishing some things that would, for example, improve their impoverished city.
It always bothered me why Aladdin didn't just give the lamp to Jasmine Then she could wish him to be a prince again AND set the genie free, and with a bonus wish!
@@thehiddenninja3428 I think the implication is that Jafar reversed Aladdin's first wish when he became a sorcerer. It doesn't explain why Aladdin lied to Jasmine, but it does at least explain why he would have had to use his last wish to become a prince again.
Luke Sanchez you’re right but it’s believed that Aladdin wasn’t one of the original Nights, but actually added at some point, likely by a French scholar. Out of curiosity, what don’t you understand about this being a video?
And why didn’t he just put the lamp in Jasmine’s hand and have her wish for him to be a prince if his first wish had been undone? She could definitely have made at least 2 wishes and given it back even if the lamp is instantly returned after the 3rd, just like how he got the lamp back after Jafar used 2.

7:39 "he just needed a Broadway production."
And that's exactly what he got 8 years later.
Summer Nights hell I was in my schools rendition of it
I saw production and immediately thought of Twisted by Starkid and my brain said 'that's not Broadway'
Coincidence? I THINK NOT!
I'm surprised there wasn't a sin for them not realising Aladdin could have used his final wish, then give the lamp to Jasmine and then she frees the genie after using her 2 other wishes
I'm disappointed he didn't hand it to the street kids so they could wish for, you know, food and stuff before setting the genie free.
Daniel Gehring , my guess the reason he didn’t do that cause people can be evil and greedy as we saw in Jafar and a example of that happens in the series when Iago was a genie an made everyone rich and it backfired
What? And give a female lead agency? Pshaw.

YOU FORGOT THE LAP DANCES
That's not the same opening logo that they used in the nineties - Disney replaced their old logo with their modern logo when they released Aladdin on Blu-Ray. (ding!)
They also removed the guy trying to pawn off broken wares
I liked that guy. But it does imply that the entire movie is just a story. And they needed sequels!
Bowlcut Nationalist so the whole opening scene is gone?
Bowlcut Nationalist what!!! Blasphemy !!!
Yeah they removed the opening guy saying it was racist. However it led to the best theories where the merchant was really the genie as who else would know the full story.
You also forgot to mention that the lamp could've been given to either Jasmine and the sultan, and they could've wished Genie free. After both maybe wishing some things that would, for example, improve their impoverished city.
I love how he takes off sins just because of Robin Williams, it's great
It always bothered me why Aladdin didn't just give the lamp to Jasmine
Then she could wish him to be a prince again AND set the genie free, and with a bonus wish!
Or wonder why Jafar telling everyone the truth meant that he's no longer a prince
Yeah, if someone could just take the lamp and get their wishes like Jafar, just give it to Jasmine.
@@thehiddenninja3428 I think the implication is that Jafar reversed Aladdin's first wish when he became a sorcerer. It doesn't explain why Aladdin lied to Jasmine, but it does at least explain why he would have had to use his last wish to become a prince again.
Cuz when she married him he became a prince?
Or kept the Jafar lamp and made him do it

The plot hole with the wishes has bothered me since this came out on VHS to this day.
THAT is what has been bugging you since 1992? This is the definition of first world problem. 😄
My grandma had this aand I loved
Luke Sanchez you’re right but it’s believed that Aladdin wasn’t one of the original Nights, but actually added at some point, likely by a French scholar.
Out of curiosity, what don’t you understand about this being a video?
And why didn’t he just put the lamp in Jasmine’s hand and have her wish for him to be a prince if his first wish had been undone? She could definitely have made at least 2 wishes and given it back even if the lamp is instantly returned after the 3rd, just like how he got the lamp back after Jafar used 2.
Maybe the Genie was just mistaken.

Running joke. Any politically incorrect comment in a movie is called racist by CinemaSins.
That's legitimate concern give that Jasmine is like 16 and Jafar probably 40 or something
Also the Sultan would be good at cinemasins!
Ok, now I need some Hunchback sins. That movie was ridiculous dark!!
The darkest (change my mind)!
ChroniclesofJan It was and still is my favorite Disney movie. Although it was dark compared to other Disney movies, I loved it mostly because of how it portrayed real life elements as well as the very dark portrayal of one of the most vile villains I have ever seen. To me Frollo was one of the most evil villains in Disney simply because of the dark side of his human nature. He didn’t even need sorcery to be frightening. I can’t wait to see Cinemasins’ take on that movie though. 😂😂😂
And ridiculous good!
Too bad it failed at box office.
Cuz... it's dark.
@@DCD4Ever The Black Cauldron is Disney's darkest movie 100% fact it is the movie Disney tries to make people forget even though it is one of their best and there is no singing in it. ChroniclesofJan Treasure Planet and Atlantis are darker in my opinion

He used that pun specifically because it would make people think of the fresh prince staring will smith, the peddler is the one singing the song and the peddler is played by the same actor who played the genie and will smith is the genie for the live action remake, his pun is genius.

Yeah that shouldn't counted. It obviously isn't from the 90s. How did they not know that?
9:40 Actually Genie said Aladdin couldn't cheat on that one, and back at the oasis when he realized Aladdin tricked him to get out of the cave, he declared "No more freebies!".
EdBoy1215 Well technically that’s true. But at that point, Aladdin was unconscious so he never really said yes or made the wish. So Genie just rescued him without using that second wish which in turn gives Aladdin two wishes still. Unless he used that wish to quickly go back to the palace but Genie already had that covered and got there in like....what 15 seconds maybe?
@@TylerKahliBear or if the '2nd' wish does count then Genie has free reign to decide wishes for Aladdin and can wish for himself to be free without Aladdins consent.
