Yh I’m a taemin stan and I’ve been seeing a lot people mentioning taemin when speaking about Kai. Sometimes it comes out of love because they’re best friends but you gotta respect them both as unique artists. I think this whole concept of the visual album sampler is AMAZING. SM would be smart to start doing this for all their artists dropping albums. It has made me so much more hype for the album than I already was! I think a lot of people were like you and didn't really know what to expect from Kai's voice. But this album....oh this album. It is the culmination of so much hard work by Kai....he deserves all the praise in the world. This is a cultural reset. Right here. The moment you mentioned Haechan I remembered this edit someone did on twt with Haechan's vocals slowed down in a lower tone and everyone freaking out about how similar their voices sounded. Also, for us Jongin stans this sound is not that surprising considering the type of music he appreciates and listens to 💗
Kai's voice is a mystery to me too, even after listening to many EXO's songs. It's a hidden gem obviously. The music and the concept are so different from most of Kpop artists. I have a feeling that this album wouldn't be loved by the majority, but for the people who loves it, will definitely appreciate it.
4:00 I've seen on Instagram, there is a video showing that if Haechan's voice is lowered by 1 octave, it is similar to Kai's voice. Likewise, if Kai's voice is raised 1 octave, his voice is similar to Haechan's. I can't quite remember if it was 1 octave or more, but they sound alike!

I always loved Kai's voice. His tone is so damn beautiful, so when the news broke out that he's FINALLY going solo i was too excited ! Also, at 4:05 i love that you mentioned this ! I always thought that they have similar style etc. and when some people pitched up Kai's parts from EXO's songs, Kai sounded exactly like Haechan. Not similar but EXACTLY like Haechan. Like Haechan was the original singer ! And that confirmed my thinking that they have similar styles. You can search on Twitter ''kai haechan'' and you will get MANY videos where they pitch up Kai's parts and it's Haechan xD Someone even pitched up Kai's whole mini album and it's like Haechan debuted solo and not Kai hahahah. Jokes aside though, when Haechan debutes solo, want him to debut with similar songs to Kai's or Taemin's. He definitely suits these types of songs and concepts because he DEFINITELY has the IT factor that both Kai and Taemin have. If i were to put it simple, in terms of artistry, style, charisma, dancing etc. Haechan is definitely Taemin's and Kai's son.
Kai has always loved R&B music and his voice really matches it quite well. His music kind of has Golden vibes, whose songs Kai has covered in the past. This album is going to be immaculate 🤌
actually kai did get a little part in the main song but he had a lot of parts in the b-side songs, especially when exo was still forming k and m. on the last album (obsession) he also got a lot of parts on the b-side songs. many exo-ls especially erigoms know that kai can sing in low notes, rapps, and even falsetto notes on b-side songs.
When you said you might buy the album cuz this was so good, I felt that on a SPIRITUAL level. I bought a lot of kpop albums in hs but in the past few years, I’ve been really picky about buying them (so I don’t end up broke) but I IMMEDIATELY hopped on to buy this album after I watched the teaser (Also ty for reacting to it ^^)
It’s funny as a fan watching these reactions because he’s always been this to us. In exo songs he tends to get the opening/ending and the choruses because he’s going to be in the center for the performance. I think people don’t realize who they’re hearing and just assume it’s a main vocal, but he’s always been one of the most consistent. If you watch any love me right or monster live performance for example you’ll see what I mean. There’s even one monster performance where he and Baekhyun carry the whole thing when there was some kind of sound issue. He’s just such an incredible dancer and performer that it overshadows other things he can do (he’s a great actor too btw - you should try watching his drama Andante on patreon). I’m glad he’s finally getting the space to properly lay everything out for those who don’t know him that well to see. If you really haven’t listened to exo’s albums though you totally should because they’re great and you’ll pick up all of their voices more. But after you’ve listened to Kai’s tomorrow obviously 😌
Once you are able to identify his tone you can hear it popping up quite a lot in EXO songs - not necessarily so much with individual lines (he tends to come middle of the pack there) but you can hear him harmonising with the other members and adding a richness to parts of the song
His voice, his dance, the scenes, everything is so beautiful, KAI is the concept, a new genre, you feel in heaven when you see and listen to him ... I need more than those 6 minutes! KAI came to save 2020! King KAI!

When you mention Haechan, i literally choked what im eating because me and my friends, actually my friend had told me that Haechan was like Kai younger brother. There are some points that they were kinda of look the same.

I think this whole concept of the visual album sampler is AMAZING. SM would be smart to start doing this for all their artists dropping albums. It has made me so much more hype for the album than I already was! I think a lot of people were like you and didn't really know what to expect from Kai's voice. But this album....oh this album. It is the culmination of so much hard work by Kai....he deserves all the praise in the world. This is a cultural reset. Right here. Everyone else is going to be scrambling to do the same thing...if they are smart at least.

Kai's voice is a mystery to me too, even after listening to many EXO's songs. It's a hidden gem obviously. The music and the concept are so different from most of Kpop artists. I have a feeling that this album wouldn't be loved by the majority, but for the people who loves it, will definitely appreciate it.
4:00 I've seen on Instagram, there is a video showing that if Haechan's voice is lowered by 1 octave, it is similar to Kai's voice. Likewise, if Kai's voice is raised 1 octave, his voice is similar to Haechan's. I can't quite remember if it was 1 octave or more, but they sound alike!
Oh my God, I was so ready to see your reaction to “film: kai” and the official MVs together on november 30th but I was happy to know that you reacted the “Film: Kai” earlier since I was really excited about it. When people said “SM is the vocal power house of kpop” and “EXO are the vocal kings” it was 💯 percent accurate! There is non SM artists and EXO member are not good at singing even the MAIN dancers and Main rappers could outstand some other main vocalist from other group lol. Kai is giving us too much in his debut album and I can’t help to question if we even deserve it oh my God.

Thank you sooooo much for talking about his vocals, he's worked so hard on them and we so rarely get lines for him... Barely anyone talked about them! Most people seem unable to look past the abs and dancing - Kai is obviously an insanely talented dancer but he's actually got such a beautiful tone and thank you for paying attention to that! The album is a musical release after all :))

i am SO EXCITED FOR THIS COMEBACK you have NO IDEA. i gotta admit i came along to exo a bit late so i haven’t really seen kai anywhere other than super m, which i personally think his style of dancing does not fit in the best with the other members of super m, but it’s PERFECT for a solo. which is why i’m so excited for this because he has this aura and swag that i think is unmatched in the kpop industry. long story short i think this is gonna be one of the best solo comebacks we have gotten in a WHILE

Also, at 4:05 i love that you mentioned this ! I always thought that they have similar style etc. and when some people pitched up Kai's parts from EXO's songs, Kai sounded exactly like Haechan. Not similar but EXACTLY like Haechan. Like Haechan was the original singer ! And that confirmed my thinking that they have similar styles.

Someone even pitched up Kai's whole mini album and it's like Haechan debuted solo and not Kai hahahah. Jokes aside though, when Haechan debutes solo, want him to debut with similar songs to Kai's or Taemin's. He definitely suits these types of songs and concepts because he DEFINITELY has the IT factor that both Kai and Taemin have.
If i were to put it simple, in terms of artistry, style, charisma, dancing etc. Haechan is definitely Taemin's and Kai's son.

Kai has always loved R&B music and his voice really matches it quite well. His music kind of has Golden vibes, whose songs Kai has covered in the past. This album is going to be immaculate 🤌
actually kai did get a little part in the main song but he had a lot of parts in the b-side songs, especially when exo was still forming k and m. on the last album (obsession) he also got a lot of parts on the b-side songs. many exo-ls especially erigoms know that kai can sing in low notes, rapps, and even falsetto notes on b-side songs.
When you said you might buy the album cuz this was so good, I felt that on a SPIRITUAL level. I bought a lot of kpop albums in hs but in the past few years, I’ve been really picky about buying them (so I don’t end up broke) but I IMMEDIATELY hopped on to buy this album after I watched the teaser (Also ty for reacting to it ^^)
FILM KAI is a masterpiece, i had high expectations because its Kai but he exceded them, this left me speechless
It’s funny as a fan watching these reactions because he’s always been this to us. In exo songs he tends to get the opening/ending and the choruses because he’s going to be in the center for the performance. I think people don’t realize who they’re hearing and just assume it’s a main vocal, but he’s always been one of the most consistent. If you watch any love me right or monster live performance for example you’ll see what I mean. There’s even one monster performance where he and Baekhyun carry the whole thing when there was some kind of sound issue. He’s just such an incredible dancer and performer that it overshadows other things he can do (he’s a great actor too btw - you should try watching his drama Andante on patreon). I’m glad he’s finally getting the space to properly lay everything out for those who don’t know him that well to see. If you really haven’t listened to exo’s albums though you totally should because they’re great and you’ll pick up all of their voices more. But after you’ve listened to Kai’s tomorrow obviously 😌
Once you are able to identify his tone you can hear it popping up quite a lot in EXO songs - not necessarily so much with individual lines (he tends to come middle of the pack there) but you can hear him harmonising with the other members and adding a richness to parts of the song
His voice, his dance, the scenes, everything is so beautiful, KAI is the concept, a new genre, you feel in heaven when you see and listen to him ... I need more than those 6 minutes! KAI came to save 2020! King KAI!
Whenever any content related kai comes out, I literally wait for your reaction. The details you notice like which step is tough and easy..you explain everything to your followers because yk we don't realise the value of the choreography I mean only fellow dancer or artist can understand that, untalented people like me needs those details to be highlighted and explained 😂.
