John and I learned something. Ours has Standard, Wide, narrow and X. It was great looking at them and see what the differences are. We normally just did Standard. #lockboss
Another great video. Thanks for sharing this with us. I always used the A side to cut my M1 keys. Sometimes they would be just a little off. Will have to try the B side for a better cut. Thanks again PJ always learning something from your videos #Lockboss
#lockboss Great information. I kind of had an idea what each setting was used for. But seeing this video makes it more clear on how to use each jaw setting. Thank you PJ for sharing and Ilco for the diagram as well. For those double side keys you can use the spacer shim to allow the jaw to bite down evenly
PSA - Ever notice on your code card on your HPC1200 it says cut one side, then duplicate? It's because of what PJ says...not enough meat on the bone. Here's what to do, take your non-transponder blank, cut it to the proper depth on the 1200, then move over to the duplicator. Most all duplicators have 4-Way Jaws, and now you can get that better clamp on that transponder key when final cutting that 2-Sided key. And always check to make sure you've changed both of those duplicator jaws to "D" or whatever (we've all forgot to do both at one time or another right?). You can avoid wasting an expensive blank if not cut well, you won't fumble around and have stuff popping out or twisting around on you. Once that first side is cut on your 1200, the duplicator doesn't care what the cuts are...just that they exist. So now you have a perfect 2-Sided key and half of a key right. Switch those two keys around and finish that other side of that 'half-key'. It's a little extra goodwill and doesn't cost much at all. Let your customer know it won't start the car, but will open the door in a pinch. An easy bonus for the customer, and since you've already figured in the cost of that first blank into the price of your service, why not give the customer that little extra goodwill and perceived added value they long for?
Excellent tips for things i didn't know as a constantly learning #lockboss. Any thoughts for Schlage Everest S-123 without the usual special cutting shim? Guess I should try fitting a key blank to see if it can be done without cutting shim.
Hello sir! Am about to buy some equipment mind am new to this, what do you recommend to start off with? This is what I had in my mind to get. Key tool max pro, otofix im1 and a probably Xp-005l cutting machine, question is what do you recommend the most the otofix or a im508s ? Or am I shitting in the wrong 🕳️. And should get something completely different all your help will be grateful. Thanks
Depending on what key I'm cutting determines which Jaw I use. I want to grab plenty of MEAT while cutting and keeping things STURDY. Basic #Lockboss information.
Doing mostly commercial keys I haven't had much of a chance to experiment with the other jaws so this was an enlightening video. Thank you
Awesome tips for every #lockboss - thanks for explaining all these PJ 😊🙏
I really enjoyed watching and learning from the video. Thanks again PJ for taking the time to explain and give pdf files. #lockboss
Spoken like a true #Lockboss! Great video 🎉
Thanks PJ and Ilco for this resource! Never hurts to have it posted near my duplicator. #Lockboss
💯-PJ
I figured this out when I did my first double sided key
This is interesting, in an institutional situation we we don't vary keyways so we only use the same jaw!

Follow up. Seems to work OK with "D" jaw on Flash Mobil. ("C" jaw left no meat)
Nice!!!! -PJ

Yes, all 4 way jaws are technically the same I just used a ilco since they made the PDF. -PJ
