Why didn't they ask him to explain the discrepancy between his story and what the surveillance video showed? If she went to WalMart to get snacks, why didn't she get out of the car? If she WAS in the car, and she didn't get out of the car, she would still be in the car! This doesn't make any sense.

I hate when OBVIOUS cases like this go cold or the very obvious suspects goes unchecked.
For people who are not aware, Dante was found guilty 4 years after she went missing. He was convicted of first degree murder even if her body was not found.
I thought this was the case where they found that she had been buried in the Mothers house back yard or something and then moved I might be wrong but I believe they did find evidence of some sort along those lines.
I hope it was 1st degree murder x2, she was pregnant....

+Leshay Westraad-Kelsie even texted him that he had no obligation to her or the baby if he didn't want any involvement. She told him straight out, if he didn't want this relationship and if he didn't want to be a father, then don't waste her time and she can move on. He was the one who led her on the whole time he was interested in staying with her. He was the one who indicated that he wanted to be a part of the baby's life.
What's lacking in this story is exactly WHY Donte Lucas murdered Kelsie and that unborn baby. On a base level, you know why, but you can't understand why when he was told that he didn't have to have any involvement whatsoever and to even move on if he wasn't interested why he still went ahead and did what he did. Some people below suggest he wanted to get out of paying child support but I believe you have to take someone to court to enforce child support. And I don't think Kelsie was that interested in forcing Donthe to pay child support.
Since he denies everything involved with her murder (and given it's been eight years. . Kelsie isn't alive. .) you don't understand his inhuman perspective on why he "had" to do it. What led him to deciding to it. How far he had planned to make it happen. And if anyone in his family knew and was involved at least in the cover up. And we may never know the full story behind this, and it's heartbreaking.

The guy and the car same stride, same height and same race. Terrible policing. Sorry for the mom. Being a mom myself I can imagine her pain.

It looks like Dontae murder her up until the video showing a strange guy walking up to her 🚗 that guy did not fit Dontae's description he had a different kind of walk than Dontae and he was slightly shorter and more stucky like a potato shape body.

My guess would be they killed her together and worked together to cover they're tracks.

It is obvious he was lying to the police because the CCTV didn’t show what he said. If she went to Walmart to get snacks how come she never got out of the car? It doesn’t make sense.This case is very complicated but I really hope it gets solved. All I know is that Donte is for sure the suspect of this crime

We'll never know but it's possible. A young girl went missing in 1984 and in 2019 her remains were found.
No, they will find bones and hopefully have a way to DNA test. Sometimes they find remnants of clothing or hair. It all depends how and where the body was hidden.

Poor girl knew he was up to something when she asked to meet up at Walmart but he manipulated her to come to his granma place, ladies never do that! I wish she went home that night when he did not show up at Walmart!
She should never have gone to the grandma's "house" for sure. Police always warn you never be taken or lured to a second site because that's where you'll be killed, especially if it's secluded or private one. Also, why did she sit for an over alone at night waiting on him. Alarms bells should have been ringing in her head.

One of the biggest mistakes the Denver police made was to turn the case over to the Pueblo PD. She disappears in 2013 and it isn't until 2021 that he's convicted. Pathetic!
