We love a good doughtnut - or donut - here in Ireland! While they're not quite the same as Dunkin' or Krispy Kreme, we have our own unique tastes and flavours, that we thought might be interesting to share. We sat down six of our resident Irish People and stuffed their faces, to see what they think of Irish Doughnuts!

Bob Marley would approve that second donut... Cos it was JAMMIN. 🎶 🍩
And so were you
Justine Stafford, pun level - Grandmaster.
You unbelievably delightful dessert of a person!
Glad you are back! You are my favorite Try-er.
don't miss anymore try shoots..........we miss you terribly when your not here
Going in to this I thought "Ohh we are doing a donut shoot today. This is going to be beautiful."
I was so wrong...
All our fingerplay 🤣
@@seanmacgabhann5673 So much fingerplay. 😂
So much fourplay .... I mean finger play 😉
I want your sweater!!
Each unto their own on the cheese filled doughnut...I'd skip breakfast if that was the only doughnut available.
I prefer Krispy Kreme donuts - there I said it!! 🙈
Glad to see you back!!
no more missing work on try shoots we miss u
Your face on the cheese one was hilarious
There's a reason that video has nearly 8 million views and it's because you're right.
You and me both, Shannon! That's what I have instead of cake on my birthday! Which is in July. Yay! And best of all, my niece works there 😊👍
I so need to work in "Artisinal Hole" into my next donut order!
I love Jamie's chaotic, cheerful-goblin energy. 100% husband material right there.
Jaime Jay Car,
internet star,
ate many donuts with jam.
He stuck in his finger
and ruined his Kinder
then said "What a good boy I am."
Sean and Justine are great together. That’s a good pair.
We need more Justine in general.
I've been missing Justine and Shannon. Welcome back!
Shannon had to get back on her knees to earn her spot back
@@ggr4010 That's just in poor taste.
"She's had a prolapse" is not something I ever expected to hear when describing a donut :D
We all enjoyed the good filling here until....
Until the artisanal hole? It got all over your face though
Wife
Cheese in donuts is so unnatural. Yuck🤮
@@vodkagal28 It might have been OK if it was cream cheese, like you'd find in a danish or on a bagel. But that looked inedible!
@@AndrewAMartin that actually sounds tasty
Justine's reaction to the bacon and cheese donut was the best one since she tried durian fruit for the first time!
See, I was thinking cream cheese... like cream cheese frosting...
No. No, just a defilement of ez cheese.
Looked more like Cheez Wiz to me.
They've sold us a lie and called it a dream.
Absolutely loved that🙂
The majority of the Try cast are awesome people, or at least their on-camera personas are. But Shannon, she's precious, adorable, and her bubbly personality puts a smile on my face.
An “Irish Donut” sounds like some kind of torture/execution method from the Troubles, probably somehow butt related. “They found Paddy in his own bathtub; the Provos had given him an Irish donut for his loose lips.”
Those bastard Provos would do something like that…
sounds like that guy got himself into a jam
@@caterpillakilla lol
@@caterpillakilla the jam got into him
shannon and justine back. whoo hoo. and shannon did you just quote chumbawumb's tubthumping??
I see Justine, my thoughts run to a durian donut.I can't help it .
There is a durian jelly doughnut here in San Francisco. It truly frightens me...
@@raydolan7526 People I know of who are familiar with it tell me that it's more or less like banana a pretty mild flavour. You just have to get past the smell
@@raydolan7526 NO RAY. NO.
NO.
Same!
It’s great to Shannon back at it - it been a hot minute her last Try appearance. She is so entertaining.
Justine freaking out about the bannoffee has made my day. I've to watch that a few more times now, that's hysterical
3:24 The idea of a jam filled doughnut, where the jam is only sweetened with the sugar from the fruit sounds amazing! Every jam filled doughnut I’ve ever had was too sweet.
America: we make all the weird donuts. Ireland: Hold my Guinness!
Dude, have you heard of the world largest doughnut? Voodoo Doughnut is on the west coast.... but that bacon n cheese is too far.
Maple & bacon doughnut Can be good.
Bro, exactly what I was thinking!
@@Juber777 I live in Portland. Voodoo donut is awful. They just aren't very good donuts. It's gimmick that unfortunately caught on. We do have some of the best donuts I've ever had; however, in Sesame Donoughts
@@michelleneely257 sad, lately you have to be choosey with your doughnuts........ feeling like a little part of me died with that last sentence.
America still wins , move about Bro
"they have sold us a lie".....i need to use that line more often
I mean, after fifteen months of lockdowns worldwide, I'd expect to hear it a lot more by now...
It’s really not fair putting Paddy and Seán together since they’re both my ultimate Try Channel crushes. ❤️
Banana and coffee are two flavors I would never consider nor desire to combine together.
Also Justine's revulsion at bacon and cheese was hilarious. Bacon/maple would work so much better for a donut.
It's banana and toffee.
@@Sharay98 Uhooohhhhhhh. Nevermind!
Was anyone else disappointed there wasn't a Durian-filled donut?
There were plenty, myself included.
This video should just be called "Jamie fingers donuts" maybe he's been in lockdown to long?
Is anyone else laughing their arse off at, “Please welcome to the main stage... Artisanal Hole!”
Your donuts are so large! You're always going on about large things in US but you win hands down in the donut size department. Laughed all the way through this one.
If Texas were to see this ......
I'm in Canada. Don't get donuts that size up here either. Coffee and a donut for breakfast - the donut doesn't have to be that big.
Even here in Britain right next door to Ireland our doughnuts aren't that big lol.
@@violetskies14 Irelands donuts ren't that big! I don't know where the hell they found these!!!🤣🤣🤣
There is a local bakery near me with donuts this size. They are way better than dunkin or Tim Hortons or Krispy Kremes.
I've never heard of bacon and cheese in a DONUT? I'd rather have a bacon and maple donut.
JUSTINE IS BACK!!!!!!!!!! WOOOO!!!!!!!!!
All I can say is I am very bias about doughnuts.
One Doughnut to rule them all,
One Doughnut to covet,
One Doughnut to amaze us all,
And the glazed is the best of them.
In the land of Krispy Kreme, where true Doughnuts you can buy
SHANNON!!!!! JUSTINE!!!! We’re not worthy. I bow!!! I bow!!!
@Aaron Lassiter I disagree wholeheartedly
Also have to say that I am just a happier person, knowing Shannon exists somewhere on this planet. She is delightful. And endlessly entertaining.
I find that bacon and cheese concept quite intriguing.
Very fun video. I miss Shannon, she is always great. The others were great too, but I had to single out Shannon because she hasn't done very many shoots lately.
I never thought of donuts as sexual until I watched this video. The close ups , jaysus ...
Wtf
Justine is so adorable. 😁
In Germany we have very similar pastries like the 2nd one. We call it Berliner or Krapfen! It's sooo good!
Whiskey doughnut was a good guess for the stereotype of "Irish doughnut" - but potato doughnuts are actually extremely tasty. The Spudnuts chain was huge for decades. I think if anyone started selling them in Ireland, people would initially be very offended - then be won over by the taste.
You just have to sneak them into a carnival in the fall when it's starting to get chilly and they will latch on real quick
Whiskey potato donuts for the win!
We have a Spudnuts where I live. They have a line every morning. I have yet to try it. I’m not into getting in line at 5 am after driving 30 minutes to get there.
@@Nonnie335 The amazing thing? The Spudnuts chain went out of business in like the 1970s or 80s - but there's at least two dozen still operating independently nearly 50 years later.
I’m convinced I love Séan. The voice change giving character to the donut warms my heart. 🤣
I've never seen anyone eat a donut with two hands. Another fantastic video.
"Did you make this up as a joke?" 😂
Did yall run out of things to try? OKAY BOYS LETS START SENDING THEM STUFF AGAIN!!
We'll never run out of stuff to try! 😎
@@TheTRYChannel irish people try gumbo ( just gumbo : make this recipe and have Donal , Shane, Callyanne , Dermot , leather Jack guy and and Justine try it ) www.allrecipes.com/recipe/216888/good-new-orleans-creole-gumbo/
@@faiththomas1749 Oh my lord, I....need this in my life.
@@faiththomas1749 There are lots of variations of gumbo, probably as many variants as there are cooks. Do you use okra or roux? Etc...
Oooooh, Shannon and Justine today!!!
That cheese donut reminds me of a stunt a radio station pulled. The premise was that Krispy Kreme was testing a new filled donut and wanted peoples reactions. The DJ's swapped the filling with cold white gravy. Then they got people to come in and try them live on air to get their reactions. Listening to people try not to just go WTF?! was priceless.
I'm just amazed at how much jelly there was. Most donut places I go to have just a hint of the jelly on the outside, so you don't know if there is actually jelly in it, or it's an illusion and there is none, or they put just a small dab of jelly in there and the rest is just air and bread.
Best bacon donut I've had was a jelly donut style donut (yeast?) with vanilla frosting on top and maple bacon crumbles over that. Inside the donut was a maple vanilla caramel sauce that was thick and gooey like caramel. It wasn't a frosting or a creme, it was like the caramel in a good candy bar. It had just the right amount of maple, vanilla, bacon, and caramel that it all worked together without any one item or flavor being over powering. I had my gf at the time keep me from going back to get more, lol! ~Be Blessed
And where can you get one of those creations???
@@Nonnie335 It was a carnival cart/food truck type thing that was at a local festival a few years ago...I couldn't be sure that they were locally based...but those donuts were amazeballz
I would like to see the reactions of older Irish taste testers. Like around 60s-70ish. I feel it would be comedy gold.
Holy crap the donuts are enormous! Love the difference in reaction to Krispy Kreme donuts
"id put that in lockdown"
im using that from now on
As an American I must stand up, take my hat off and salute the Irish doughnut maker that made that Bacon and Cheese doughnut. You sir (or madam ... or zir or whatever these days) are a credit to your nation. Godspeed, doughnut maker, Godspeed.
This one was just FUN. Perfectly matched pairs, easy fun chemistry!
I don’t quite understand Irish People Try Irish Stuff, but good to see y’all anyway.
I thought only in Wisconsin could a cheese and bacon donut be a thing. 🤣 I was wrong!
Those look like pączki. (Polish doughnuts).
I just love the way you play with your food. Y'all are so funny, thanks for the pick me up. Hugs'n love 🤗🥰🥰
I think most Canadians would approve of this episode, being that we have more donut shops per capita than anywhere else. Look that up if you want. 🍩🇮🇪🇨🇦
I want to go to there.
That might explain why Canada is expected to surpass the US in diabetes cases by a great margin. Right now they are barely a percentage point ahead.
I live 3 blocks from the first Timmies!
No alcohol in those donuts? Im sure this video is gonna be the bomb as usual!!
So great! Perspective!
Side note, Justine, my friend wrote a great song, inspired by Krispy Kremes and “pints.” Fried Dough And Hops can be found on UA-cam somewhere.
Paddy’s first Bailey’s bite was EPIC! Stunning form!
Yay, you’re trying Irish food. Please sir, I want some more.
That bacon cheese donut needed some scrambled eggs and it would have been EPIC!!
2:18 I can honestly say I've never wanted a strawberry doughnut more in my life
Do you have Wendy's over in Ireland and do they serve breakfast? If so, try the Maple Bacon Chicken Croissant. It's delicious. 😋 There's no cheese involved.
No Wendy's over here unfortunately
Omg, I laughed so loudly & long at "it's had a prolapse!" that i had to rewind to hear what was said for the next 20 seconds. 😆
This is for the Try producers. Can you share more of what Irish people eat. Like their version of Crisps, what they drink at Gaff parties. Luv your channel. Thanks for sharing.
Omg the intro is already making me so laugh so hard
Lovely to see Justine back! 1:36 Sean's Irish pub order is just killing me. Excellent shoot.
In Minnesota, if it doesn't have a whole in the center, we call them Bismarks.
So glad Justine and Shannon are back! Some sort of work release program, I assume?
Irish doughnuts look like polish doughnuts but with rose jam.
Go sábhála Dia sinn. Stick to scones, folks. Let the Americans do doughnuts - they do it right. 🍩 👍🏻
Scones are english I think & donuts are dutch
Nope donuts are American. They’re based on a Dutch pastry brought to America by immigrants but what we call a donut was invented in New York in the late 1700s/early 1800s. America did donuts first, right, and best.
Oh god as an English person I'm surprised the Irish didn't murder you in the comments for this one lol. Scones are not Irish lol.
Has anyone else marveled at the confident giant bites Paddy goes in with on these shoots? I know they CAN spit it out, if needed. But I get the genuine impression that this has NEVER crossed Paddy's mind. He IS going to consume whatever goes into his mouth. I've seen him scream at horrible shots. But he's never spit anything out. He's all in. And we DID get that Bob Marley joke.
Enjoying a Krispy Kreme lemonade-glazed donut while watching this. They need to sell these year-round.
Sean: "It's all over my face."
Not the first time you've said that, I'd bet.
Nor will it be the last
I never would have considered it, but I’m SO on board with Irish people trying Irish stuff!
i lost it when paddy started rimming the strawberry one :P
holy moly, i just finished a blender tutorial on how to make a realistic looking doughnut in a 3d software, and here you are, eating real doughnuts! that's... nuts! :D
"Artisinal Hole" sounds like a Punk or Ska band name.
Minute 5:47 "Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the main stage..."
Or a p0rn star... 🤣🤣🤣
@@auntlynnie with the prolapse?
"That's only coming out for the visitors" 🤣
I have been missing Justine! So good to have her back.
OMG! I so adore all of you!! love, love love all of the videos. Doesn’t seem to matter what your eating!! The booze ones are the BEST!!
Yay Justine!
OMG This is the best Try video ever. These donuts have made me THIRSTY.
Need an Irish coffee and a huge antacid! 😄
Good to see Justine again! I like Krispy Kreme ones but have to be very careful as I could eat my weight in them! The Dutch do good donuts and some are to die for. How’s about the guys making their own donuts and we vote for the best ones?
Yay, Shannon is back, staying up late paid out!
I USED to wonder what prolapse sounded like with an Irish accent.
😂
Shannon is the greatest tryer ever 😂😂
I was in Dublin for about 10days (got back last week), and the one time we had doughnuts, a local guy brought in Krispy Kreme, which we have all over Atlanta :P
Great to see Justine again!
SHANNON!!! ❤️. Shannon and Jamie duo is one of the greatest
Bueno is the _only_ milk chocolate I like. I want that doughnut.
I have LOVED EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE !
I laughed so hard watching this video. The last donut was a nightmare.
Nice see Justine Again . Hmm Donuts 🍩.
They look delicious!!!
@@FoodTastertv i dont think she is talking about the donuts
I love that you universally detested the bacon and cheese ones.
“It’s got a prolapse!” OMG I’m not even done the video yet and that’s my favourite line. Lololol.
"Artisanal Hole" sounds like a band name.
Didn't he star in "Coming to America" and have a talk show?
A hipster Nu Jazz band, that you only see gets played in a coffee shop. CD displayed on the counter.
Nice.
This might be a silly question, but aren't all doughnuts in Ireland, Irish doughnuts?
If only we could get those Irish donuts in the US, I want to try one so bad after watching this.
That jam doughnut looked like it was what all other jam doughnuts wish they could be.😋😋 I would love it by itself or I’d put a scoop of ice cream on top (while it was at room temperature or after heating it in the microwave for ten seconds or getting freshly made and still warm) along with some whipped cream. HELLO! 😋😋😋
