..best most straight forward explanation I’ve ever heard of the whole principle of compression, a good teacher knows the importance of words and speech, this man’s words and speech are crafted and razor sharp, well done 👍
"Coefficient of Restitution... which is a great term that doesn't help you at all" Omg that is hysterical. I had to watch that five times!!! Great videos, loving your instruction.
I know that spinning on the downswing is incorrect but if you watch the tour pro’s, they are rotating open on the downswing as their arms continue on the in to out path which straightens out at impact. If you keep your shoulders closed on the downswing as it appears you do, then most amateurs will either hit the ground well beforehand the ball or block it straight right or if they don’t transfer their weight on the downswing they will top the ball.
Mike thanks very much for a simple but really informative video. I dont compress the ball as I dont have a bowed wrist at impact. This video really helps.
..nope, it’s a delofted 6, do the same with the 5 etc You’ll just hit it further with a different trajectory, golf swing is dynamic but you’re comment is thinking in static
He said you deloft the face just before impact. Guess that is why the ball goes farther. OEMs have been delofting the irons for years and that is why they can make the claim their newest irons go farther.
I've watched dozens of pros on youtube face on and NONE of them have their hands 6 to 8 inches in front of the ball. A little in front? Yes, but not that much forward shaft lean. Need to be careful about exaggerating this aspect of the swing.
No you can't. The reason pros swing the way they do is YEARS or instruction and practice. Think of the irony of your statement! "The only way to swing the way the pros do is to do the exact opposite of what they do". Pros didn't sit around and watch videos of other pros to get good. If you want to play like a pro you must follow their PROCESS. Years of instruction and playing/practicing 8 hours a day.
@@jacobr4558 You can't see what you don't look for. In this videos case he was talking about your head moving infront of the ball. If u watch pros none of them have their head infront of the ball at impact. This is a fundamental. Just like keeping your hands ahead at impact. And if you've ever taken a (good) lesson you would know your instructor watches tons of pro swings and compares them against yours to show you what is right and what you are doing wrong.
Also you kinda missed my point. My statement was meant more to point out that golf instruction is full of inconsistencies and this guy is a shining example. Your better off watching videos of pro golf swings.

Good presentation of the differences between the two swing types.
I like how we get all this advice and then they hit a practice shot and do something different.. thanks for all the help!!!
Excellent instruction on a difficult move. Bravo.
what a wonderful teacher you are!!!
The best tutorial ever!!!!
Great video this covers everything in a short time - watch it twice! This is on point.
Good drills. The first one you can rehearse throughout your round while waiting on your turn to hit.
This is EXACTLY the information I've been looking for.
Word
Like that crisp contact.
i have been told that too much lateral forward movement is not good but more of a hip rotation.
Ok I got it. Can you please make a video on how I sign up to the pga tour lol
Lmao that spin at 3:34 is hilarious

great vid, you explained almost all of my problems, will try to fix
Great video - helped me a lot -- thank you

Great information. Subscribed
I like you use the alignment stick to show how body and head should move ahead first.
I was watching a face on video of Rory McIlroy hitting an iron shot and his head did not move past the ball at impact.
Great video. It works for me😁
Brilliant
Good demonstration. You have wind buffering the video in the background. Weird.
The only thing I think you are saying that you need to have lateral movement on your lower body to compress the ball.
"Coefficient of restitution - a great term which does you no good at all." hilarious 😊
Compression is all about the
coefficient of restitution. Why not Google it to get the Physics of it?
if using a 6 iron and you deloft it doesn't become like a 5 iron at impact?
John Malihi ya u moron

Your head should be behind the ball at impact and club momentum should bring you up and through swing --- this guy is moving through the ball .
excellent!
I'm off to practice my coefficient of restitution.
Now your next video is about avoiding shanks? XD
Seriously when I try too hard compressing the ball I start shanking.
Me tooooo!
He’s teaching, he has to exaggerate the motions
Nice shank @ 5:25sec...
Scoring line? I thought it's called a groove.
That spin he shows around 3:30 would ruin my back...
In all my years of playing and watching golf I have never seen a 'scooper'
??? are you a scooper ???
..most of us are scoopers, if you knew you were a scooper you would try to get out of it but if you don’t know it well…you keep doing the same
@@cdunne1620 True...the majority of golfers are scoopers. Sad but true.
I thought you were not suppose to move in front of the ball?
The momentum doesn't let you actually do this. It's a feeling. He is teaching you a feel. That's what great instructors do.
Hehee great term that doesnt help me at all, unlike all the earlier said and shown. Thanks a million likes

The only consistency in golf instruction is it's inconsistency. Watch slowmo's of pros and u can see whats right.

Head ahead of the ball at impact is death.... Not sure I'd take any advice from this guy.
farking lawn mowner
This is awful.
