Am I seeing this right that I don't need any monitor behind home plate for the hitting system? I have a cage in the basement (35x15) and there is not 7' behind home plate for me to use. If all I need is this in-front-of-home-plate monitor then this should work for us. Their website seems to say otherwise. Please confirm. Thanks!
I never use Rapsodo at a field unless one of my students asks and I have never been ask. It makes no sense! Well your already on the field so why use your going to see where to ball is going anyway. Get a cheap radar unit and you will get velo. It is great for cage training.
If you watched the video then you'd see we were looking for the accuracy of the Rapsodo on the hit. As well, a radar gun is not multi directional. So, a radar gun won't do you any good at the field for exit velo's unless the hitter happens to take a pitch directly up the middle. So, makes lots of sense.
Since it has been a year since this was posted, would love an update as to how durable the unit is and if you’ve had any issues.
