Wow, your video got me looking back at my PCGS coin database on these Peace silver dollars that I have in my ongoing collection and how much these mint state “MS” have dropped in prices when comparing to current eBay sold prices this morning. I never really thought much about adding to this collection since I only have several in MS and the rest in AU58 and the Peace Silver Dollar prices in MS63 were a little more pricier than I expected back when I started collecting them. Again thanks for bringing this to my attention, I will be adding to my collection again. With over 560 certified coins in my collection you owe it to yourself to use a smart database to follow your ongoing collection.

People that sleep on ANACS graded coins do us all a favor by creating excellent buying opportunities. I'd rather have an ANACS coin than an NGC slab any day.

Please clarify and explain your comment. How does my sleeping on my ANACS graded coin create excellent buying opportunities? It's the 'sleeping' part that has got me confused. If I put my ANACS slabbed coin under my pillow how does that create buying opportunities and for whom and why?

I like ANACS, but if it's not an early soapbox slab, I'm going to want a big discount on it.
That's because dealers won't pay full market value for a newer ANACS slab. Some don't like to buy ANACS slabs at all, because they can be hard to sell.

@@roynajecki1100 You've got to dream of all the great deals that are out there in ANACS slabs and manifest them my way. 😆

I find ANACS slabbed coins a lot of the time to be under graded. I myself have sent Morgan’s to ANACS just cause I want them preserved and it’s cheaper than pcgs and the grades that they give them are definitely a point under what they would grade at pcgs or ngc.

ANACS definitely look better for their grades except the ms63 should be a grade or two lower. The black spots and the rough 62 are fugly.Thx for the comparisons

The MS 61 has a mark (scratch?) above the E on the reverse. I'm not surprised ANACS graded it as a 61.

I just compared recent actual completed sales for 1921 MS-61 to MS-64 Morgans on eBay and ANACS/NGC/PCGS prices were about the same. So perhaps the collector perception that ANACS is over grading coins is beginning to fade. Some collectors may have the idea that if the grading service fee is higher then the grading is more accurate. I can understand why dealers would rather not buy/sell ANACS coins so they can turn over inventory much faster, but collectors who are not flipping or investing may find ANACS a much better value especially for coins worth under $150. Right now it appears that collectors/dealers who have MS-65 or better coins go to PCGS, CAC, or sometimes NGC, but rarely ANACS for grading/slabbing.

The plastic holder in the NGC is clearer than ANCS.

The ANACS 61 and 62 look better than my 63 and 64 from NGC. I can never understand grading on Peace dollars. I have seen beautiful MS66 examples, but the prices are crazy.
I feel like the ANACS look better than the NGC. What I really do not understand are the 69/70 differences in modern coins.
In general, I only collect MS coins, but for Peace dollars I wish I had taken your advice and only bought one good one (say an MS65).
I am trying to do that going forward. Personally, I love the 2016 gold reissues of classic coins. I only need the walking Liberty half dollar to complete those.
I would like to add Sitting Liberty coins to my SLQ’s, Walkers and Mercury dimes, but even the dime slabs are so expensive. I cannot imagine getting a mint state sitting Liberty half dollar. The ones I see cost as much as a car.

THANKS FOR THE INFO, ROD. I REALIZE THE PEOPLE WITH DEEP POCKETS LIKE THE BEST, AS I DO ALSO. BUT AS A WORKING-CLASS GUY I CAN'T BRING MYSELF TO PAY THE BIG BUCKS THAT SOME OF THESE COINS COST. I WOULD RATHER GET TWO OR MORE OF THE SAME COINS WHILE PAYING THE SAME OUT-OF-POCKET COST. BUT THATS JUST ME. YOU GUYS HAVE A GOOD ONE!!
