Hey, it was effective! There's a reason why artists (even videographers) are considered the weirdos of the world lol. I'd never heard of your channel before, but definitely came for the metaphor and stayed for the visuals (and that hair...so jealous of that hair). I appreciate this amazing video. This is the best method I've seen for really organizing and keeping on track your content/channel planning and it really clicked with me better than anything else I've seen (and I've been obsessively studying these types of videos for several years now). Brilliant! Thank you so much for this. You really got me...fiired up...ugh, ok, that was terrible, but you started it!
Nate, I’ve watched all of your videos before starting my channel, and my first 4 videos all have 3,000+ combined views, you have been so helpful in my journey!
I just started today after learning a lot from you. Thanks for your motivation and inspiration , I don't know anything about this youtube world, but I decided to do this in my way '' being me '' no thumbnails no editing just camera using my phone and my plan is 1k videos and see what algorithm will do
When the student is ready the teacher will appear! ❤ Thank you so much 😊 this put everything in perspective and sparked (see what I did there? 😅) new ideas.

I’ve been watching your videos for a few years now and I must say, this video was one of the best videos I’ve watched and using the analogy of a campsite and campfire really help put things into perspective. There is a lot of great information in this video and I wanted to thank you for everything you do. I will start utilizing what I’ve learned from this video!! Keep up the great work.
Sir, respectfully WHY DID'NT YOU MAKE THIS SOONER?? This is the best video you have ever made and this is TOP 1 best video for any UA-cam that's starting, any one that already has a high audience. This video works for everyone. I'm annoyed I didn't watch this a month earlier. This video combined with the roast video you made for the food eaters, that's all anyone needs.
Hi Samantha! I just subscribed to your channel! I love cozy creative relaxation style vlogs and I actually want to start doing them on my sewing channel. I really love reflective content. Looking forward to your videos and well done on your channel!
So happy to see another video from you nate! You have transformed me from a simple creator putting works out there into a small influencer capable of being audiance driven and impactful
You have the most helpful channel I've seen and I've looked at a lot of them. Your analytic approach provides so much useful info and your style infuses me with confidence. Thank you!
You know, YT has always been secondary, but I have begun applying your tips and tricks not only to YT in a casual way, but to Medium in a more in depth way. And I have seen it work on Medium. I am going to try this method for my Medium content with the publications I publish to and the various types of stories I write.
Nate!! We introduced some folks from Italy, to s’mores about 15 years ago. They were blown away. Thanks for your tips! We are struggling as a small adventure/travel channel, your tips have really helped. ❤
Nate, I have posted just over 350 videos and counting and been with this whole UA-cam journey for over 3 years now and I am ALMOST at 10k subscribers. Growing in a not so popular (since 2016 or so) nice is making it tough, but I have not and will not give up! Videos like these with advice that is actually AMAZING just makes each step that much easier to reach. I have videos with over 100k views and shorts with over 150k views but just can't seem to find out the process in which I was obtaining those numbers. I will report back in a month or two with results from applying these tips!
I've watched a couple of your videos and I love the analogies and hands on examples you provide it helps me understand content creation much better than any other creator in your niche.
Thank you so much for everything you do bro. You are the GOAT for YT Algorithm and just good ol content creation vids. I tell anyone interesting in YT about your channel.
Nate, I'm feeling so lucky that this is the video I watched before I started recording my first episode for my channel! I will follow your guidance and hope to be able to share my journey on my channel for students, teachers and EVERYONE to learn how to best make use of AI 🙂
Love these algorithm videos. Speaking of, I'm thinking of potentially getting into the UA-cam-strategy space with you soon documenting THIS channel's journey to 1M subscribers
Such an amazing video! Like all your videos, I’ll watch it a few times to make sure that I fully get everything you teach. Thank you! There is a lot of advice for creators on UA-cam, but you have a different way of teaching and you also share things from a different perspective that makes total sense to me. ❤
Thanks so much for this guide, Nate! It is the most intuitive one I've ever seen, and I absolutely love it! I know exactly what to do, and am actually excited about the journey! 🙏
Wow, what a helpful video! If this advice doesn't "light a fire under you", 😅 I don't know what will! I'm so eager to take what I've leaned and get my channel roaring. 🙏🔥
I love your approach! I get so bored and frustrated with the "change the word algorithm for audience!" Stance Yes, we all want to keep the audience happy. But the algorithm decides who has access to the audience. For a newby like me, improvements to my videos, titles and thumbnails are only seen if the algorithm provides impressions! The irony is that "replace the word Algorithm for Audience" is catering to the Algorithm's needs not the audiences! Feel better for getting that off my chest! Have been binge watching you videos. As long as you don't start making fake live evergreen webinars, i will be sticking around! You know those outdated recordings where we have to suffer 10 minutes of the host excitedly welcoming the "live" attendees from around the world and being asked to put a 1 in the comments to show it's live (not)! You are a welcome breath of fresh air!
Fun way to analyze my channel - I’d use this framework to plan the growth (I’ve presently revived my channel) - ok, planning my camping now and will apply. Thank you Nate!
To be honest I watched this video after developing my core audience. I am over 125k views on the channel but I liked your approach and step break down that you did and I would 100% agree that this is what is needed to grow a UA-cam channel. I will keep watching to learn more from you but for any fresh starter I would say that you have marked your place in my recommendations list, the channel that I would recommend beginners to learn how to do UA-cam
Thank you for the awesome vid! Your videos are my routine channel check-in, its like each video is my journal prompts reminding me what my strengths are, what my passion is, why I’m doing this and who my competitors are. Looking forward to having a s’more myself once our campfire bans are lifted. Oooh and if you want a yummy s’more, we use the caramel filled Celebrations - they are incredible!
this video has really got me thinking about my channel. you see i have been stumbling around for 2 years doing this I am 46 and on disability so i started a channel about the outdoors, mainly videoing deer and some fishing. as of now i have 488 subs and 187 watch hours.
Hey Nate! Your videos help me build my Hungarian UFO & ASMR channels (the 2nd is a separate account). I implemented many of your advices and they seem to work. However, I've found it very useful NOT to monitor my Hungarian competitors. I consume crazy amount of English content both in the UFO and in the ASMR field. And because of the international competition, the quality there is high. But Hungary with its 10 million people and its unique language is a much smaller "campground", not to mention: both topics are really in the niche category. Whenever I bump into a Hungarian UFO podcaster or ASMR artist, I see how low the quality is. This makes me very sad on one level, but very hopeful on another. I think as long as I try to be as good as the UA-cam content creators I follow in the international scene, I have better shot then to let myself be dragged down by the Hungarian swamp. Sorry, I know this sounds horrible, but that's how I see it. Also, I don't want to know what topics they have covered, what trends they follow -- I don't want to be influenced in my choices and decisions. I follow the international lead and my own instincts. I feel this is how I can grow and succeed. What do you think?
Enjoyed the analogy of the oxygen and shared oxygen and the residual heat from loyal fans. Thanks for sharing your perspective on this for fellow content creators.
im not going to lie just from an autistic visual thinker point of view, the comparison of the youtube to a campfire really made sense to me and i think it has helped me visually picturing what i need to do with my channel, there's still some questions about what i want to make but the comparison has given me some idea of what to do outside of the actual ideas/niche.

Pretty much did all this, except collaborate bc while im in a rather popular niche, there's little competition out there currently. Now I know why... somehow the algorithm just hates it, despite people loving it. So I eventually had to give up on a channel people loved, where i got the clicks, the AVD is high, I get near 100% likes and the subs grow like crazy per 1k views. But without getting the impressions from the algorithm I still get nowhere and there's nothing i can do about it :( So that's the end of youtube for us.

Hi Nate! I was filling out the template as I watched your video. Some of it was a little hard for me to totally understand, but I'll keep working at it. But I think the part on analyzing other channels for their sparks, tinder, kindling, etc. will make it even more clear. I guess I can compare it to the advice you've given in the past on drafting against other channels, but I can also see that here, you're looking at what makes a creator really stand out as unique and that's how we need to shape our content, too. Am I kind of getting it? BTW, I sent you a video idea, too. Hope you like it!
