I agree. Fear is the only show I've ever made it to the end where I hated myself for watching. It was fucking shitshow. The finale was so bad I almost turned it off, and I'm a die-hard, ride or die, loyal person who usually sticks around. What a fucking disaster. Never seen writing THIS bad in any show. Even shit for kids is written better, the worst shows for kids and soap operas are written better.
Travis, Nick and Johns deaths were all absolutely infuriating. Only kept watching because i had to watch all Walking Dead stuff
Travis was killed because the actor wanted to go work on the Cameron Avatar sequels and make that bank. Nick's actor also asked to be written out of the show as he didn't like the new direction and showrunners.
They could've just had Travis get bit and fight to get alicia back to Madison and nick that would've been a way better conclusion for him in these circumstances

Pretty much you hit the hammer on Troy's head, one thing that killed me in the last couple eps. Was Troy getting a giant tree branch in his chest. And Madison pulling it out. It's pretty common knowledge now thanks to Steve Irwin (rip) that you don't just pull things like that out because it's likely keeping the blood in. But yeah the hole was huge and he's out here digging his wife's grave. Oh and being submerged in swamp water with contaminated dead bodies. No big
Also the way they did the whole Nuke explosion thing only as a backdrop and because it looked cool. So then starting off every scene a character had to say "it's safe here readings are good" to get the characters to take off their mask. In no way shape or form is how nuclear fallout works. Then to just boot it away the next season because it was stupid.

I quit the show after Nick died. I couldn't do it anymore. Within a few episodes, both of my favorite characters died in the most stupid ways possible. It was unacceptable. The new DEI cast was horrible too, and I am not talking about Morgan. The new group was all just a bunch of plants.
Man, The Walking Dead & Fear The Walking Dead were my 2 favorite in the mid to late 2010s. Just like everyone else, I was so invested in this show but then it happened. Everything you said in this video is 100% facts. Ever since Rick left The Walking Dead, that's when I left and I believe I stopped watching FTWD around that same time. I don't know where TWD & FTWD start going wrong and why. Literally TWD was the most popular show on TV at one point and now no one except hard core fans can care less about it. Like how can something be number 1 and just fall off their place like that, it's crazy. Guess the moral of the story is when the main characters leave, that's when the fall off starts I guess idk anymore lol.
I just finished watchng the series, and have been watching a few reviews, but this one had me laughing my ass off, in a good way. You totally nailed it.
What is quite astounding is the universal agreement across reviews on so many of the errors. That being of couse, because they should have been blindingly obvious to the writers, who seem to have got lost in a bubble of "subverting expectations.," and "Game of Thrones Kill offs". Another universal idea, is that the show had potential and was good, until it got messed up. My main differences in view would be that Walking Dead was good until the end of Season 8. And the Fear was passable through 4 and 5,, and could have got away with running until the end of 6. However, after, that, it became the Alisha fan club show, and place you could put your friends kids, so they could be on TV.
Regards "Charlie", I would imagine she was slated to become part of the group, before Nick's death was written quickly to get Frankie off the show. But, having done that, they reverted to making Charlie part of the gang. (Another stunning piece of writing). The actress however, was likely the most capable of the young actors in the show by far, and so, keeping her was actually a smart move, in what otherwise is a total mess. Though they then later sidelined her, before her magical revivial, alongside so many others in Season 08. Those revivals, basically show how the writers themselves had to admit they had made a giant mess of things, killing off the best characters for cheap thriills.
Nicks shirt in the first episode, first scene, ruined the whole show.

When the show was FTWD, a presentation of the outbreak that we didn't see in TWD, the show was good. I really liked Nick. The show should have stopped after S3-4. Nick and Madisons death were stupid and I stopped watching. Ever since I'd see a character that died is back and just thought what the hell is going on with that show. TWD was hard enough to get through with the fucking whisperers.
Ah I like the Whisperers, Beta was much better than his comic counter part, it was a little dragged out, and the ending of that arc was very problematic, nothing really happened, nobody important died and yea it just wasted Beta in the end, he should have taken out at least two key characters. So yes flawed but it was entertaining in parts, especially Choke Point, to this day that's still one of my favourite twd episodes.
In actuality, it's the viewers very own fault for the fall of the show. Back when the first seasons came out FearTWD was never well received. Viewers disliked Madison, plot was too slow and the only character people actually cared about was Travis and Nick. The average person never understood that the show's whole purpose was us watching a group of survivors slowly descend into villains. Bringing in Morgan and crossing over the two shows was simply to up the ratings.....then TWD universe was created 🤡
Fear TWD season 1-3 is so good to me it’s a 3 season miniseries and the rest should’ve been a complete different show it’s annoying how all my favorite characters were all treated like shit

I actually stopped watching fear the walking dead when they killed Travis off like that, It actually killed my hopes for the show from that point.
I think the last few seasons of fear were made specifically to launder money that was used for human trafficing, and they cast trafficed people into roles hence the brother and sister duo in the last season, cause no woman in her right mind would wear their hair the way she did unless she was under duress with a gun in her face. Fucking show man....started good then as soon as them muppet directors took over it went to shit. Love your sense of humour, just subbed.
There actually is some subtle human trafficking/pedo symbolism used by Alica repeatedly in the show.
Walker apparently never appeared again because the actor didn't like the new writers that took over after s3 was finished while Travis was killed off just because the actor wanted to leave which is fair enough tho they could've executed Travis's exit better
TWD season 1 - 6 and FTWD season 1 - 3 was really the golden age until it was ruined by Scott Gimple and AMC because they wanted to turn the walking dead into a MCU universe wannabe
Finally got around to watching the last part. All I have to say is that I didn’t think this show could become more of slog, but somehow they managed.

I agree with just about everything you stated, but the one disagreement I have to voice is the common complaint some Tubers have about TWD as a franchise -> being that the focus isn't the zombies anymore. **Yeah, that's the point.** Once the fall of society is complete and the new world begins to rise from the ashes, it's only natural that the zeds would lose their position as the main threat. (Unless you want a story like WWZ, but even the novel spends a ton of time on interpersonal conflicts and politics) A better criticism would be to say the zombies aren't as deadly or aren't incorporated more into existing story-lines where human villains take the center stage.

I think the show has potential. Theres a lot of people dying so more fillers might help out. The show feels rushed. One of the main reasons i liked season 4 so much was the scenery. I gave up after the nuke apocalypse so good job sticking to it.

To me if one thing made this show worth even watching a little, it was Strand. (Coleman Domingo). And early on (Nick) those dudes like them or not were very interesting.
