I adopted a 14 m/o Malinois from our local shelter almost 5 months ago, she was totally untrained, that "untrained part quickly changed. I have never had a more velcro dog, Maxi is amazing.
I love that breed and have always wanted one but I'm not a high energy person. My other dogs are more low to moderate energy although my pitbulls are pretty high. How is yours? I always figure there's an exception to the breed standard and hope to find that lol
Hola shabalon cuando me inbitas para ir aberte ir acaseria
My coworker did the same. He has never had a dog his whole life and the malinois he adopted (bella) was abused severally but they gave her a chance and my coworker is very active (rides dirt bikes and jet skis) that dog is glued at the hip with him. Im a dog person and im the type of person if im at a party and there is a dog there i will be focused on the dog lol and it took about 6 months for her to like me but with him it was instant that they found eachother. He had just lost his dad and i always say this "they rescued eachother " she is very loving once you get to know her.
@@ruru9400 I'm 61, disabled, I have chronic pain and mobility issues. I'm also training a Belgian Malinois for her Brevet in French Ring, look that up. I got her five months ago at 14 months of age and completely untrained.
I can assure you it has absolutely NOTHING to do with one's physical ability, but everything to do with one's training skillset as well as mental and physical engagement for the dog, you don't need to run a dog five miles to wear it out.
She's like driving a sportscar, amazing drive while training with excellent stopping power when we get in the house. All Malinois are different.
I can vouch for the Bouvier de Flanders…Great protection dogs that take their job seriously 👍
Yes, you are absolutely right about the Bouv. I know because I used to own one.
German Boxers & American Bulldogs would be my choices on this list. Good protectors that can defend themselves too
Doberman's are my personal favorite because they stick to you like Velcro and are very alert
Number 1 - Doberman Pinscher 👍
Soooo obvious. Protective, smart and beautiful 😀
Thank God for my dog 😊
I just knew the king Doberman would be number 1 given the weight category. I have a male who's almost 3, a big ball of energy, too much energy, and a velcro baby. He loves me so much.
I would've given it to the gsd but considering the Doberman is the only breed in the world specifically bred for personal protection is probably why it holds the crown on this list. Either way both great and beautifully amazing breeds
In reference to what you said about admiring the qualities of The Beau, I call that type a "chill but will" dog. Like a Boxer, they are chill but will engage if necessary.
Most all of these dogs are but the way some temperaments go there are some dogs that are more ready Freddy than others but that does not mean that the chill ones are not omniscient. My Boxer could be a sleeping log or a jester until the danger was close enough for her to have to do something about it. She was always on time and never late for it. She was judicious and barked warning first, second, and third. By then if they didn't back off , it was time to engage. She wasn't trained she just did it that way. Just like Germans, always practical, efficient, even a bit sneaky. I didn't realize Boxers could stalk and point, but they do. And thanks to your channel. Zeke, I know they herd.
The Dobe takes the top spot. Without question.
Not at all, know two people who have bad them and had break ins and the doberman did not do anything..poor guard dog unless trained in protection
@@ryanthompson8029That’s one dog, I’m sure we can find one dog out of any breed that might do nothing
@@ryanthompson8029because of the owners. If they stopped them to bark or show aggression on every occasion, dogs learned that they should do nothing. Also, having the American type can increase the chances to have that result
Totally agree 😊
@alxdava2004 was the gunna say thag to. The American versions are watered down compared to their german bred counterpart.
I have 2 german shepherds that are absolute love bugs. That being said anyone who comes to my house for the first time is intimidated just because of the breed, so mission already partly accomplished as a guard dog. Deterrence sometimes can be the best defense.
If my boy doesnt know you then you cant come in unless i says so. My gsd is my home protection with my wife and kids. He's 102 lbs and knows his job is to keep his house safe
Great video. Can you do a video on the Shiloh Shepherd?
The list was spot on!
Had boxer as a kid, also had Bouvier as a kid. Both are excellent with kids around. For past 30 years only had Heelers, but I'm single, no kids. My breed of choice, almost feel sorry for anyone trying to break in now-a-days
I've had shepherds, pits, and LGD's but my beauceron is the most protective dog I've ever had. Especially of my wife and kids.
Depends on the individual. Beauceron have not been over bread. German Shepherd is one of the most popular breeds in the world quite literally so that is why there is a massive variety and temperament. However, the working on Shepherd's especially Czech or mixture with West German working line are I would say the top protection dog. Nine times out of ten if you go to a trainer that is what they will sell you. It is nearly impossible to find a Dobbie that still has the nerve for protection
I'm a simple man, I see a dogumentary video, I click like even before watching it 🤷🏾♂️
That goes for the Dobermans..You're simply the best
Better than all the rest
Better than anyone
Anyone I've ever met ;-)
Totally agree 😊
Great dogs Nice video
Excellent
I feel like heelers deserve an honorable mention, I can't say it's a breed I readily recommend to anyone for any reason but I love having them and they're really great for both personal and property protection
Best resource protectors
Not recommended for people without land for them to exercise . Great protective dogs
I feel like Aussie's are always left out of lists like this but one of their original breed purposes was to be guard dogs. They have strong guarding instincts, and are great alert dogs. If you wanted a medium sized guard dog thats also good for sports aussies might be a great pick.
Giant Schnauzers should be on this list .
Over 100lbs on average. Look at the title!
This video is right on time. Im deciding on a protection dog under 100 lbs
We'll alert the media!
Not to pick too many nits, but if the Dobbie is new so is the GSD. The first GSD registered was born in 1895.
Dogo argentino should of been mentioned with American bulldogs who are typically heavier and have lower breeding standards regarding function then the dogo
Can u please do the Blackmouth Cur breed? There a distant relative of Catahoula Leopard dog 😁
🔥🔥🔥
Should have used olde english bulldogge instead of American bull dog as they fit the under 100lbs requirement much better.
Doberman Pinscher 🎉
American Bulldog 🎉
Rhodesian Ridgeback🎉
❤
What about a best zombie apocalypse and out camping (two different segments)dog under100lbs
What about the Giant Schnauzer?
Airedale Terrier.
Nothing moves , flys or looks at the house with them noticing.
They more like a sibling than a pet. Affection but not over doing it but they’ll die for you every time.
Non shedding and legit goof balls until they feel threatened. Than to the ground ( terrier ) fearless
What about the Giant schnauzer. This breed is also a good guard dog.
I also agree. As a matter of fact, I've been researching them for a while. Within the next few months, I plan on getting one.
Gotta be a German shepherd for me
Athletic dolphin 10
Yo! You left out The Giant Schnauzer!
Giant Schnauzers man, Giant Schnauzers.
Totally Agree 👍
I've had several Giants..Handsome and Tough !
The Bouvier is more than 100 pounds
80-100 pounds ours was a big male at 85 pounds
G-Sheps all day
Rottweiler???
FEMALE ROTTWEILER!!!
Catahoula grows to 22” at wither and 95 lbs.= NOPE
They grow substantially taller and a 95lbs. Cat is not common. And it would be not be 22” at that weight
I completely disagree with the dutchie
You put the Doberman at number 1 😂😂😂😂😂
This channel is going down hill the videos are boring and some are repeats Zeke you loss passion for creating content
We don't know what's going on in his life. He's got a family and I presume UA-cam isn't his full time gig. He's commented before that he does this on his own time and with his own money. Cut the man some slack. I'm happy he's putting out any content at all.
