I spent my career building and repairing oil refineries before I knew what damage they caused. But I do know we have the ability to clean the air long before this! The uneven regulations let me watching Coal smoke billowing up in the air in the state next door to us while we were forced by the state EPA to install climate saving devices! It also doesn't help when the Auto industry is pushing out monster vehicles that get less than 20 miles to a gallon! We seem to be in a rush to a national suicide singing and dancing along the way!

In 40 years geography will show the bottom half of Florida underwater. Same thing is happening with electric cars. They say they can't charge themselves because the electricity is used for the mechanics of the engine, trying to avoid the fact that an alternator is a mechanical motor that also runs off electricity. So they still got people attached to a pump, although it is actually an electric company.

To ignore climate change over monetary compensation is a death sentence for all of humanity. It is illogical and evil behavior against all peoples of our earth. Only the people can make the changes necessary for our own survival. The problem is not with the Engineers and Technologists working for these oil companies, but with the Accountants and Salesmen who run them. They seek solutions that make the most money as quickly as possible even if the most superficial medium-to-long range analysis would point to other more efficient and profitable solutions. For example they would order switching a field from 160-acre spacing to 40-acre spacing to increase short-term production but wasting remaining reservoir energy necessary to produce significant additional reserves. In other words, maximizing quarterly profits. They get their bonuses and stock options and then bail out. The whole business is corrupt. People who invest in the oil interest feed off this corruption, and what does that make them?
Can we get rid of the taxpayer drundge that is Senator Grassley.

I can only hope we get enough democrats into Congress to make a difference in climate change legislation.

Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, The biggest economic impact to the United States is the one that grants Congress the authority to issue an income tax without having to determine it based on population called the 16th Amendment. This makes way for a runaway Congress to spend itself into oblivion. The WSJ states quotes, "What is it going to take for the Senate Budget Committee chairman to realize there’s a problem with the federal budget?"
