I have no intention on building this kit, but I still find watching the build video fascinating. Well done on this model, it is absolutely beautiful. The engineering that went into making this amazes me.
I really hope they sell the swing wing assembly on it's own. I could see so many people on the forums using it for different aircraft like an F-111 Aardvark, B1 Lancer, Tu 22m, Tu 160, Su-24, Mig 23, Bell X5. There are so many swing wing opportunities that are opened up by this. Not to mention some fun experimentation that could be had
Right now I am working on a swing wing 50mm edf mig 27
Oh my god, I just got into RC and the flite test F6F was my first Plane I ever got, just a few weeks ago, and now this! This is amazing!
John, you are a gentlemen and a scholar. This design is amazing and all I can say is WOW!
I have to hand it to you John, you sure know how to design a airplane that not only looks cool, but is very satisfying to watch being built!
Funny, I can see my son taking off with the plane but it starts to rain and as he brings the plane in to land he screams at "Dad look the plane disappeared it turned into a ball of bubbles" and I say, "Son bring the bubbles back the plane will be somewhere inside", LOL!
You guys are really exploring the limits of foamboard. amazing!
Great build. I would definitely use an alignment pin for the wing sections.
I’m buying the F-18 today as it has the pylons for missiles/drop tanks. Have you all thought about making pylons for the F-14? Having the pylons next to the wing and/or the fuselage Phoenix pylons would be so cool.
You could use a pice of wire or rod in those holes as you put them together to make sure the holes align!
This helped a lot thanks Jesse for the radio help
Will plans be available for those who want to cut out each piece for this plane?
No. This is a master series plane which they dont hand out the plans for
Also could run a temp bolt thru the holes you're trying to line up.
Put it in the store, can't wait
It's there :D
@@friendlyreptile9931 yes, waiting for the value bundle
Thank you so much for making this I remember when I was on a live stream and I said pls add a tomcat and said no but now YOU MADE IM SO EXCITED TO BULID IT
Hi, I received my kit and I'm very excited to start. I was expecting instructions but there are none. This video is a great help but where is the C of G located? Is there a recommended battery size to use?
The CG is listed on the packaging and on the webpage. Its .25" behind wing pivot. Make sure to check out the complete playlist for full assembly instructions.
Man - What a great video!
Just want to ask, if i can get just the plans like for MC spitfire because I want to modify it and not spend 200€ on kit + shipping to Slovenia
where can i get the plans? Also are they free or you have to pay? If you have to pay where and how much are they? Also what eletronics are used on this model? IS it a dual engine plane or a single EDF? Can you put afterburners on this design?
They aint no plans!🤫
@34;00 F-14s don't have ailerons. They use differential Stabilators and roll spoilers.
These do have ailerons, some features don't work as well when scaled down.
I'm guessing the soap is for lubrication? (No, I haven't been in prison) Soap is also great along the top of wooden curtain rods to let the rings slide freely or on metallic zippers that might be sticky.
Ok, it's in the store, when will the value bundle be done?
Probably the first of the week
This dude is turbo sped build with the foam board.......he's a foam board Jedi
Can you please confirm what servos are required? In the video, you use 25kg Betu servos for the swing mechanism, but in the store, you only list 4x 17g servos. Thanks!
The 25KG High Torque Servo 2 Pack are listed in the "NEEDED TO COMPLETE". Amazon link.
@@darren_clark Yes, it seems they've updated it, it wasn't there when I originally checked. Thanks for the heads up!
Hi there boys. What a great job you are doing here. Im old and used to build in balsa. But, last week l build Ft3D and that went out nice. Just radio in put and some color and its ready. Have a good one ower there . Grettings from Norway. Hmm will you send kit to norway ??? Just wonder 😀
awesome work and really appreciate your dedication to your project
This is almost too good to be true......
Maybe the F-15c next?
I would absolutely love a A4 tiled plan for this so please, please could we have a tiled plan for this? Could you do Concorde,Avro Vulcan and a Panavia Tornado eventually also please?
I hope somebody figures out how to set it up on a Spektrum. I swear by Spektrum and don’t feel like switching radio brands just for one model. Fantastic design, John!
Why shouldn't it work with Spektrum?
Include metal pin to aline holes easier.
You guys are so awesome
Hi John, how can I get a plant?
do you sell it?
Where can I buy this blueprint of this model?
Are these kits still available and if yes from where - I am in Australia but can import.
Hi guys, does anybody knows where I could possible get the plans for the F-14 Tomcat?
Thank you!
You mean like a PDF? I’d be interested in that too. I think I’ll be buying this plane soon. Haha.
They no longer give the plans away.
Hola, este kit lo queria comprar y me contestaron que no hacen envios a colombia, por que?
Hello Gentlemen, how are you?
How do I get the blueprint for this model?
Where's the link to buy this kit? I can't find it
How large is the entire shipping package? I'd like to buy one in the US, pack it in my suitcase and take it back home.
To big for dat
32:20 do you mean loctite glue or something else?
Add loctite to all collars
Ye but what loctite?
Glue?
Loctite is not glue. It's a special liquid just for keeping screws from vibrating loose. Look for it in hardware or big box stores. It'll be in a very small bottle.
It's mentioned in the first minutes on supplies needed
Will there be a value bundle
Yes :)
Very good nice
Where is the update shop link?it’s not working now
Why didn't you make full elevator
Could you please share the link to buy the F14 building plans? Thank you very much
No plans, just some videos, but you can trace all pieces on foam board, plywood, or poster board after you buy one. That goes for all jets.
Where is this kit available from??
Flight test store website
Where is the link to this kit ??
When can I get one in UK?
Ary the planes aviable? The kit is not aviable to buy in my country :D
Is this a good third plane
What are the others you built?
@@trieditathome4116 simple cub and horizon hobby’s carbon cub s 2. The building and electronics are not a problem, it is the flying that I need a little work on
i wouldnt recommend this untill you have done some DIY flight Test planes including a master series. DIY techniques just take a bit of practice. Would recommend a FT Tudor to start with.
@@trieditathome4116 okay thanks!!! I am comfortable with bush planes, just not jets, do you have a good recommendation from flite test?
Bushwacker is some fun :)
No longer available? 😞
Olá, disponibiliza a planta pra gente, agradecemos.
did somebody did a "bead of glue" counter?
lol, how about let the glue cool for a full two minutes...lol. I get so tired of my own voice after a video🤣🤣
plans?
love this
This reminds me of tech ingredients
I'm not finding this in the store.
Bonjour s'il vous plaît j'aimerais avoir le plan avec les dimensions réel en pdf 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hello... I was just wondering if you sell it outside the USA to europe, i would like to buy this kit and modify it a little bit so it would have working landing gear... So i wanted to ask if you do send it outside the USA.
Same, i want it to germany
@@warbird11_ i want it to Czech republic

I love billing this kit
Going to definitely get one
Why can't I find this on the website anywhere?
There is a seperate category for master series jets
Technically the F-14 doesn't have ailerons. Instead, it uses wing slats (dinamic air spoilers) at low speeds, and differential 'tailerons' at high speed.
that wouldn't make for a very good flying model, though. You'd get tons of adverse yaw, like the real jet, and it'd be very difficult to fly.
@@banzaiib
What do you mean?
Gyro stabilization and flight controller.
Flies just beautifully and I do not have to be a Navy pilot. lol
I know about the real aircraft.
It does two things very well, fast straight level flight and fast climb, everything else.... just don't sneeze or cough. lol
@@Zeaiclies
I built an rc model similar to that,
Full wing flaps and a “spin tail “ we called it, worked really good without gyros. Fun to fly because got some real scale like landings and takeoffs.
@@Zeaicliesit’s probably a purposeful design choose, designing motorized slats like that to put in a diy kit even if it’s a master build is challenging.
@@deserting8710
No they are part of their wing on their plane, they just called them by the wrong name.
Please bring this back in stock
What would you say the flight difficultie is
with wings out its a 3, wings in, a 4.
Honestly I’d buy it just to sit in my room until I stop crashing
@@justflight898 that’s what I was thinking 🤣
Flite Test, get a production manager and a producer to make these videos. This is a video on an advance build. With tools and understanding that most people can not begin to understand. Unless they work with their hands on a daily basis. There is a reason why after a movie the credits roll and there is an endless scroll of names. This is a talented man who can build a model, but he is not a scripted person who will explain all the techniques he is applying. While also making some mistakes. You should preface your video title with advance build. I saw a glaring omission in the first 60 seconds that would help a builder. A penny nail in the center pivoting point the of the wing would help to align the actuating wing assembly. While not trying to eyeball it, or use experience or hand feel to make sure the actuating surfaces are square. I know you guys are trying to DIY, and get the best people to do a video. As a professional, are you really looking at this and saying good enough, or job well done? Most people can not tell when a screw bottoms out. You expect someone to build this and have the same level of experience with hand tools?
👍🏼👍🏼
this is amazing but please ????
good look to all
please please please fibreglass the f-14,
Is Pdf plane free?
These are only available in kit form.
Can i take pdf file pls?

Way too many ads
Your better off using a candle not soap
You're, and soap works great.
far to many ads
OKAYYY...
I watched it and I am impressed that such things can be made of this material. In general, I understand the idea of the "Flite Test" company as a way to promote modeling. And this is great at this stage of attracting young people.
PERIOD
But... It's good only in countries where such material is available. Besides, it has little to do with the source modeling.
I missed some far-reaching vision - what's next for these young people? Will they be slapping models from the same one by one? They'll never know what balsa or laminate is?
Not to mention that the wing profile is very sensitive to changes, and you look - just put together two boards of foam and it will fly by itself... Little bullshit for me, sorry.
But it's another story...
This is modelling with hot glue. It's more like inventions like a dude in India made a helicopter powered by a motorcycle engine in his backyard. And he has not yet put the helmet on his head for testing.
I have been teaching modelling for many years. And I will say this - interesting technique, but very simplistic. Even if it works, it's hewn from a dowel of wood, not carved with attention to detail.
P.S. You show your dirty nails to the camera. I feel sorry for you because mine are always clean.
Lol, those are working hands🤣🤣
What a looser, idk what your talking about, foam board is easy to work with and safer then gas/nitro planes. Amazing model
Looks too hobby lobby arts and crafts and a long winded pain in the butt to build. Foam or fiberglass for the win.

come on american company...
american company must make many real better F-14 super tomcat
So much work 🥲
