You have now bypassed the likes of Kavita Krishnamurthy, Alka Yajnik, etc.
And you have entered the league in which so far only Lata ji and Ashaji had governed for a long time. You can not match their historical achievements, but you certainly have demonstrated the talent to achieve a similar level in the future. I first listened to you on SRGMP in 1998 Finals judged by great musicians of India, a rare event in history. All the best...Hemant uncle. ( i play dilruba and tabla just for your info.)

Another classic...and a very educative explanation and rendition
A Raagmala composed by Adi Narayana Rao, a phenomenally talented MD, and written by Bharat Vyas. This superb classical duet is based on four Ragas, one each for each stanza, Sohni (Hamsanandi), Bahar (Kanada), Jaunpuri (Juanpuri) and Yaman (Yamuna Kalyani). The movie was remade from the 1957 Telugu movie of the same name. Adi Narayana Rao was producer and his wife Anjali Devi acted in the film along with A Nageshwar Rao. Adi Narayana Rao later composed music for Phoolon Ki Sej in 1964 but the songs were nowhere close in quality to the songs of Suvarna Sundari.

It is only after ages that I have come across a performace whereby the performer educates the listeners about what exactly is going on....
Last time it was in the seventies when, as a cadet at the National Defence Academy, a very distinguished lady from the television institute (FTII) came and performed a dance at the Academy auditorium and continued to explain every motion of the dance, which was understood in depth by one and all, every motion and tutorial of hers was lauded by the cadets and the defence officers, (who were our instructors) as well..
In the end she exclaimed "I am glad and amazed to see such a wonderful audience which can appreciate the nuances of classical dance."
So today, Your tutorial took me back almost half a century ago.

Sonuji thank you for the correction. By the rule of Anupras and grammar it should be chhata but it has been sung as ghata and lyircs everywhere have ghata. But you are right. poonam ki chhata hi hoti hai. Ghata ka koi matlab nahin lagta.
