imo BRD is one of the big winners of this expansion, the changes seems small on the surface but they make the rotation flow a lot better, also with the Haw's Eye proc there's not that problem of not wnating to barrage when you already have a proc anymore, so the 2min burst feels a litle bit less chaotic and coupled with the new GCD's it makes for a nice flowing and satisfying burst
Absolutely! When I saw the Job Action Trailer and later read the Job Changes I felt quite underwhelmed but leveled it early regardless because of Retainers. I was very surprised how much smoother the small changes make the Job feel for me. Extra points for the Radiant Finale follow up being one of my favorite new Animations
Bard feels great but it has the typical phys range problem of pressing a million buttons but doing significantly less damage than everyone else because of free movement. Really enjoying the 3-6-9 song duration. And I wish sidewinder was more interesting.
My only problem with BRD is for Sidewinder being useless. I miss the days long ago when it used to do more damage if the two dots were up. I also can't stand the after hit attack spiked dark purple effect that it leaves. Would love to see a guide for your openers and rotations for BRD.
I'm on lvl 70 msq, and I've been playing bard since I started on arr. It's honestly kind of a struggle for me to play, but I'm getting used to it, and the new changes definitely help. Hope I can play this job in endgame content when I get there 😭
Dots being 45 seconds long is important because they match up with our song timers. You'll never forget to Iron Jaws if you do it after every song (regardless of when you clip it) and the dots will benefit from the song buffs at the time as well.
@@CloudN9ne23 Still worth refreshing the dots after each song if you struggle to remember they exist. Slightly weaker dots are still better than no dots
I find that 45 seconds is long enough that it contributes to me forgetting about them, especially when they get off-set by the snapshotting in the burst window. Bard's DoTs used to make so much sense, and they created a wonderful scaling effect in the kit where everything fit nicely together. They were the beat to your music, and every beat was a chance for a proc or two. Not only was having the potential for double procs interesting, but the procs were a reason to keep your dots rolling. You were invested in them because you knew how horrible it felt when they weren't up, you almost instantly knew if they fell off because your procs vanished, and you endeavored to not forget them because of how vital they were. They are such a shell of that former glory now. They mean nothing to you as a player except a slight potency bump. You can forget about them for minutes at a time and nothing about your gameplay changes. It's a literal chore now, and it's crazy because SE clearly hates DoTs but then removes the aspects that make them interesting.
@@Bravadorado I agree with those points but unless they change or revert how our dots work they would become more of a chore remembering to Iron Jaws them at different times than your songs. At least this way aside from Mage's Ballad (due to having the most amount of buffs from Minuet, etc), it's at least easier to remember they exist. Changing their time without any meaningful changes and they'll end up being forgotten more than they are now like Sidewinder.

It becomes offset from songs when you snap shot with buffs

Respectfully not managing dots sounds like a personal skill issue
How did u change the bard charge bars? Is that an ingame feature or add on?
Do you mean the song job gauge?
You can select them in the HUD settings and turn on simplified version. Works for every class.
