Feux follet is difficult to master and perform because aside from the extreme technical challenge of the rapid double notes and huge jumps, you can't just rely on volume, showy chords, excessive pedal, or rubato to hide your deficiences. Liszt was well aware of this, it's no accident that he makes the pianist play the difficult sections leggiero, pianissimo, staccato, and allegretto. Can't just be letting "good" pianists pass themselves off as "transcendental."

Ant 55 no 4 is Mazzeppa I just marked them wrong I am trying to find out number 1s actual name I think it is from his Paganini etude?
Nicolas Nobis okay thanks
2:40 is epic
Valentina Lisitsa does these for practice every morning while drinking her coffee.
Indeed.
Now she’s gone 😢
Reminiscences de Don Juan should be number 1.
It's not that hard, Liszt has a lot harder pieces but it may be number 2 among this list.
Reminiscences de don juan? Waltz mephisto?
@Enescu wdym sux? It's a nice piece, all 4 of them. Maybe you mean sux because it's easy idk
@Enescu ok agreed
Although this video is inaccurate, this is more accurate than most others. Good job
What would your list be, out of curiosity?
@@jonk1370 hmmm, no 10 would be the older version of Liszt paganini etudes (s.140) no 6. No 9 would be rhapsody espagnole. No 8 would be grand galop chromatique. No 7 would be the older version of feux follots (s. 137). No 6 el conteabandista probably. No 5 romancero espagnole. No 4 would be Dante sonata. No 3 would be his Mephisto waltzes, 2 probably his s. 140 no 4b, and finally the hardest of his is galop in A minor or his sonata in B minor
In my opinion of course
@@ryanting1707 appreciate it, thanks for sharing
@@jonk1370 no problem
@@ryanting1707 a smart person in these comments. What about reminiscences de Lucrezia Borgia?
Number one isn't transcendental. It is from the paganini etudes.
Elias Blanco at the time of the video I didn’t know this thank you for bringing it to my attention
Currently I am working on a piece of music that I want to be considered one of the hardest pieces of music of all time it’s gonna take me a little bit longer of practicing to be able to play it and I just came up with another section that I want that will hopefully make it a little more difficult 😈
@@DATCMN I’m trying to make it impossible
@@DATCMN I’m taking Techniques used in very difficult pieces and making it a regular thing and trying to see if I can make them even more difficult
@@DATCMN I’m using inspiration from 3:42

Why is etude 6 so high? I though it was below la campanella
Where is dante sonata B minor sonata and galop chromatique on ur top 10 list?
And one might argue, the piano concerti that he wrote.
In what universe HR n°6 is harder than La Campanella? I would love to live in such place...
Does anyone have MIDI for Liszt 1838 Paganini etudes?
Another excellent source for these pieced is Traum, a concert pianist.
Far from realistic but I don’t judge because this was made 2 years ago
Why is no one talking about how speed up the footage of Kassia and Seemusic is?
It is really sped up?
I mean yeah of course seemusic's footage was sped up but even kasia?
bruh it's not sped up, it's just the low framerate that makes it appear that way. The lower the frame rate is on a video, the faster it seems, because there is less accuracy within the frames
What happened to the convents thatWhat happened to the convents that used to house nuns?
Great liszt! It isn't really that accurate but its really good to have an basic understanding of the difficulties of the pieces
*liszt*
@@cubingkid1082 Yes. I changed it
i think don giovanni deserves a spot in this list
Do you know I can play all of them in octaves?
Wilde Jagld is sped up in the video
Where is Mephisto waltz no 1 ?
Where is don juan, norma, puritians?..
