Happy Christmas! I'm 51 now and couldn't imagine anything worse than being out and about this time of year. I survived but now my kids are doing the same. Finally understand how my parents felt!
Absolutely spot on. I was a bouncer in Denmark for 10 yrs and I had the same kind of experiences every month up to Christmas. There was pretty much a standard script for these guys. Get drunk at the company Christmas party and way too drunk in the bar afterwards. Air their frustrations in life to their coworkers, berate their spouse, threaten the bouncer, get thrown out, freeze their butts off, get in a cab home and pretend nothing of all that happened and repeat it all next year
You tell stories in an intriguing way that puts us right there in the scene with you. You had integrity in your work to do the right thing, including refusing the coroner's hearing. The stories remind me of how Chicago was in the 80s. People drank a lot more than now but didn't do drugs. It was a lot colder in the 80s than now, so you'd come of a bar in Chicago late at night this time of year and it would be close to 0 Fahrenheit, with a howling wind whipping off the lake and snow stinging your face. I hadn't thought about those times in 40 years. Your stories brought them back to life, and I can remember every detail now. Young people, live your lives well, because 40 years goes by in the wink of an eye when you look back on it.
Mad Friday, Christmas Eve, NYE, Easter Sunday, Mayday bank Holiday and last bank holiday in August always a pain in the arse. Extra money was nice but not worth the extra grief.
Here in California Is the same. I stopped going to clubs 20 years ago, but I remember a couple of events where someone rented out a space for the weekend and had a "green" friendly event, no alcohol. It was the best dance club I ever went to. No one throwing up, acting belligerent, etc. Everyone was cool and dancing to the dj mixing it up nicely. Of course, you had to go out on the outside patio to puff puff, not indoors. ...It was lovely.😊
Love your channel, sir. Looking forward to your 2025 content. 😊 In the US, it seems like partygoers get a bit more wild and wooly at New Year's Eve events--hotels, clubs, house parties, etc. Back in the day, we would only go to New Year's Eve parties at hotels and rent a room, so we could crash right there after the party. That always worked out well because you could really whoop it up with no worries. Happy Holidays!
Your insight into life and human behaviour, delivered in your trademark entertaining style…. Magic! I’m supposed to be cooking the Christa’s dinner! 🍾 Happy Christmas to you and all.
I had bars in Germany and experienced exactly the same as soon as the Christmas markets closed. Fighting, puking, screaming and that was just the staff! 😁
That was really enjoyable to listen to and your good description of places, people and what happened makes it easy to picture the scene in my minds eye. Thank you. Merry Christmas to you and yours. I hope you have a good one. Cheers! 🎄👍🏻
I do not miss working Christmas and NYE, don't get me wrong the money was great - but Jesus what a mess. 😅 Think we all deserve a few Xmas's off now, have a good one mate 👍
I'll listen to this tomorrow when i go on a big run, but I just wanted to wish you a merry Christmas, and i hope you have a good day. Ps love the content.
By the way, the incident you described down in Brighton reminded me of a construction worker who got run over by his colleagues' Road Roller whilst tarmacking a road... When the Police went around to his house, his wife was out, so they posted him under the front door. 🤣
I wonder if the family of the dead guy was trying to set you up by getting you to say what a nice guy he was. Then they could have claimed you didn't have cause to remove him, he was drunk and got killed as a result
This disturbs me! The holidays are supposed to be a time of joy and happiness and even redemption. How can people act like such savages on this special time of the year?

I really don't understand how you reconcile knowing that women aren't the sweet heavenly creatures we imagine them to be when we're in love with the assumption that all women in abusive relationships are "good girls" who just need a bit of help to get out. Especially given that you know how many men get hurt or killed helping those "good girls" as they go back to the relationships they want to be in.
I believe there are good and bad in both males and females. I am not sure where you got the idea I think all girls are innocent. Maybe you have some personal issues which you are projecting onto me. I can't do much about that.
@@thatgearguy I don't need you to do anything about my personal issues. I watch your videos and share my thoughts with you as a way to reflect back what I am seeing. I think it's important to understand that many women who get into and stay in abusive relationships are in those situations because they *want* to be with the types of people they are with, and they are willing to accept and tolerate the abuse to keep the relationship going. Doesn't mean that *all* women in abusive relationships are like that, far from it, but for many this is definitely the case. And unless they really want to get out, a white knight trying to "help those good girls" would be putting himself needlessly in danger. This is my point.

Sounds chill. Alcohol really brings out the worst in some people for no particular reason.
I have never seen a guy smash up a room after too much to smoke.

A comment deleted before by YT. . not a time of joy , near extinction event & cannibalism involved . . truth is stranger than fiction as always
Happy xmas gearguy
Hilarious episode!
Merry Christmas to you
Same to you!
@@thatgearguy 🙏
Well said mate. Used to piss me off no end when you'd invariably get the shitfaced member of the party and no one wanted to step up and help.
Happy Christmas mate 👍

I’ll be in Thailand in 4 days. I can’t wait to escape this aggressive horror show of UK & Ireland

19:01 The lengths men are now going to so they can put "6ft" on their Tinder profiles.
