Lyrics:
What happens in the dark… feels the way… the blackout never comes
Turning the gears, sharpen the blades of sheer terror… These Fevered Ones
Tell me the secret things… show me the bloody kings
Let’s play a game where the winners always lose… their heads
TIME SCREAMS BY/LIFE IS MINE
Your Condition Is A Symptom We’ll Have To Give You
Medicine For The Dead…. [drink me]
Your Condition Is A Symptom We’ll Have To Give You
Medicine For The Dead…. [drink me]
Before it could start… the shooting stopped… the silence always comes
Now where do we go? Walking the streets in pure terror… there’s something wrong
Pull at your privacy… a product of lunacy
Don’t be surprised when the losers refuse to win… again
TIME SCREAMS BY/ LIFE IS MINE
Your Condition Is A Symptom We’ll Have To Give You
Medicine For The Dead…. [drink me]
Your Condition Is A Symptom We’ll Have To Give You
Medicine For The Dead…. [drink me]
Where does it end and tell me where does it go
If Evil exists, then only Evil can know
When do we run and are they letting us in
Where does it end- tell me where to begin
Your Condition Is A Symptom We’ll Have To Give You
Medicine For The Dead…. [drink me]
Your Condition Is A Symptom We’ll Have To Give You
Medicine For The Dead…. [Medicine For The Dead]
Your Condition Is A Symptom We’ll Have To Give You
Medicine For The Dead…. [drink me]
Your Condition Is A Symptom We’ll Have To Give You
Medicine For The Dead…. [you have to drink me]

Perfect
Masterpiece!
Had to swap my pants 4 times just listening to this one song.
Amazing
🔥🔥🔥🔥
This album really is like a fine wine. Takes a bit to taste all the little hidden notes, and then blows you away when it comes together.
same with .5
No, you just put up with an obviously weak album. You have no choice, so you listen.
@@bochok5694 tell me you don't know how to listen to music without telling me you don't know how to listen to music
@@bochok5694What a fucking stupid thing to say! We all like different things man why be a cunt about it?
As a 53 year old fan, Slipknot have been my favorite since 1999 and they still are today!!
🤘
🖤🤘🤟
Also 53, still a fan
52 year old fan ,love the growth this band has took. Every album has to have its own identity, we dont need 6 iowa albums just one. That makes it iowa. ?
I've been a fan since '99 also, although I'll be 38 in 2 weeks. It's wild how the maturity in each album is tangible, and somehow when the album comes out the music fits within that particular phase of our lives.
They know how to balance out heavy, musicality and emotions. Very unique
well said, man!
Facts
Very true
One of rare bands i can listen to the entire discography without skiping a single song.
grey chapter is a complete turn off for me
im still trying to make my mind if i buy this one or not. WANYK is gold...but grey chapter sucks to my ear
@@niveknorac4130 both Gray Chapter and WANYK are my go-to no skip albums :P
@@niveknorac4130 yah I was like that too for a while. I eventually wanted more slipknot so I decided to give it a few more listens. It grew on me pretty quick after that
@@niveknorac4130 Sometimes you really have to listen to a song for many times to grow to like it. The Gray Chapter is my favorite album ever.
@@niveknorac4130TF????
The Negative One, Custer, The Burden, AOV, Sarcastrophy, The Devil in I, that album is amazing
I've been battling mental illness for almost 40 yrs with no help but your music. Keep going strong and I will to.
Hell yeah don't give up you're a fucking legend 🤘🤘
I'd say that's the case for the vast bulk of the fanbase and musicians themselves. I second your statement. 🤘
Legend
Stay strong man
Keep fighting the good fight, my brethern
This track is about merely floating through life. Empty living. Feeling like a ghost in your own life and feeling time slip by. As if it's becoming too late to change anything.
God I feel that waaaay too often.
I feel this comment way too much than I'd like to admit.
Makes completely sense for me, since I tale medication to get by like a "normal" person
Prazer, sou a tal pessoa 🤝🏻
Chorus is beautiful af, sounds like a halloween song, best song on the album for sure
Imo Hive Mind and Finale are better but this is a close one.
If you are looking for possible references, the intro sounds like Silent Hill theme
I really liked warranty
The chorus is whiny and annoying
Good joke buddy
I overlooked this one the first couple listens, but damn it slaps.
Best song
the medicine we all need is slipknot
Real shit!
guess so but we aren't really dead
One slipknot song per day keeps the Doctor away
Slipknot has literally kept my head above water more times than I can count.

I never wanna let go of this feeling that slipknot gives me they speak to my soul😩
For real. Fukin hits me on an emotional and spiritual level. All the pain we've been through. 🤘🏼
To strive for a better outcome in life.
I feel as if the music and my soul become one.. will remember this for the rest of my life
Fuck yeah, lost my wife, it's been a struggle but these guys help with there fkn awesome music man
I know what you mean. After two decades of being a fan, they still give me the elixir that soothes me like nothing else....
The energy is so liberating. People who don't listen this type of music will never understand
It's songs like this and Hivemind that remind me why Slipknot will forever be one of my favourite bands ever.
Exactly I knew they would blow my mind again.
Your expectations are really fucking low then.
oh yeaaah
the whole production leaves you speechless. A true gem
it seems everytime i listen to this album, it gets better
I swear I hated the album the first time I heard it but I told my friend watch it be that the more I listen to it I'll end up loving it and here we are
This record became my second favorite of the band.
No matter how many times I listen, it's not enough! This is the perfect Slipknot song!
Slipknot is my medicine during my depression thanks to them I overcome it 🤘
Slipknot don't disappoint. They've been very consistent since the start of their journey.
How many agree , these guys are Musical Geniuses ?
My favourite song from new album.

Also favorite song. I'm on meds for chronic pain. There is no fear of death anymore.
Me too. This song reminds me of Boston Children’s Hospital. It’s a very special place for me because I go to this place for all of my appointments.
@@Not.Your.Usual.simp
This is the biggest standout track on the album for sure. Great ebb and flow from melodic to heavy, awesome riffs and a fantastic chorus.
No autotune, no pitch correctors, one take for all... pure talent. Respect Corey!!
One of the best songs on the album very epic and creepy. And the riff is very ominous. Coupled with the lyrics its great.
This one floored me .. honestly did not expect that. This album is so creative and innovative I love it! There is nothing left to do other than headbang right now 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Do you feel stupid? The rest of the album is bad in comparison.
@@pain_rain609 I don’t know what you want from me troll.. Buh bye now
At least this album better than linkin park last album 🤭🎸🔥👍✅
@Anna Pay no attention to them. Real metal fans are the ones I've met at hundreds of shows over decades. Never seen a fight, never felt unsafe once, and I'm a small woman. We like what we like and don't have to justify it or not justify it to anyone else. 🤘🏻
I bought my first Slipknot CD a couple months after Self Titled came out in 1999. I saw them live at Ozzfest 2001 in Somerset, WI. As their albums came out I found that I like them more the more I listen to them. I was pleasantly surprised that I was really into The End, So Far during my first go around. I'd rank this album a top 3 for me. I love how you can hear everybody in these songs (especially Sid and Craig). I'm proud to say that I got to take my son and wife to Knotfest Roadshow 2022. I've literally grown up with Slipknot's music and will continue to support them throughout all future albums. Long live the Knot!
Ozzfest 01 Columbus Ohio for me, been hooked since
I don't care what the haters have to say about Slipknot, their music got me through some tough shit in life. Slipknot is a blessing
They know how to balance out heavy, musicality and emotions. Very unique
@@luanlima1532 yeah, but sometimes it´s too predictable
I agree, slipknot can't put out the same album over and over again, they have to evolve, I happen to like the new album
@@bes5164 idk man, as I see it, the Slipknot is the definition of unpredictability. In the best way, of course.
@@ivansleepy4722 predictable in a sense of clean catchy choruses ....basically all songs here have clean vocals during chorus which makes the record a bit predictable
Best song out of this album by far
No..."Hivemind" is.
H377 is my favorite off the album, this being second. Hivemind is 3rd for me
Tbf all songs are bangers this album
can’t wait for the new album
edit: seconds after i posted this i got bombarded by notifications saying that the album is out, listening to it rn

Came for the new album, stayed for the community. Lets rock 🤟
I love to see it when a bands been making albums for over 20 years and still be popular and produce albums that kick ass.
Grew up knowing slipknot by only a couple of songs. But then i saw them play Live some years later and it was basically an out of body experience. Absolutely love Slipknot
0:00 - 1:48 Probably my favorite intro by slipknot, the moment that I heard that siren in the beginning I knew that I gonna love this song
The constant change in rhythm and rifts are beautiful and mean. One of the only bands that’s been around this long and still haven’t sold out. Semper Fi to slipknot for that🤘
This is the type of metal you'd be listening to on a calm highway at night while driving
I've been listening to Slipknot since my Freshman year of high school back in '06-'07, I waited in line at Best Buy to purchase AHIG on the day it was released back in '08.
That was the first Slipknot album I ever bought, it's still my second favorite Slipknot album to this day and I will defend AHIG till I die.
I was going through a very rough time back then and Slipknot gave me strength to fight my autoimmune illness called Systemic Scleroderma, I was very sick at the time and I was undergoing chemotherapy in the hospital once a month for a year (I was 17 at the time).
Metal gives me strength, it gives me life, and it gives me peace. #MetalWillLiveForever #MUYA
I feel your attachment to AHIG. I was in the Army doing pre-deployment training in Ft Dix for Iraq (OIF 08-09) when the album came out. I went to the PX one evening after training and bought the deluxe edition. It was my soundtrack for the entirety of my tour in the sandbox. I'll always love AHIG.
@@madden1903 thank you for your service brother, that's pretty cool because the lyrical content of that album was very relevant politically speaking. I would say AHIG is Slipknot's most political album, I can only imagine listening to songs like Gematria and Psychosocial over there.
I hope you and your squadron made it back ok, you have my deepest respect sir. 🤝🤜🤛
@@bighomiestevethemetalhead8131 I appreciate the kind words. Yes, Gematria, Sulfur, Psychosocial, Vendetta, Gehenna, Wherein Lies Continue, AHIG, and Til We Die, were the most played.
@@madden1903 you're welcome brotha, throw in "This Cold Black" and you will have listed all of my favorite songs from that album. Every song on AHIG is great imo, I don't understand the h8 it gets.
"Sulfur" is in my Top 3 Slipknot songs. Thrash Metal is my favorite genre and AHIG is pretty Thrashy imo, so that's probably why I love that album soo much (plus sentimental value).
@@bighomiestevethemetalhead8131 I simply forgot to add This Cold Black.
It's because of how experimental they got in it that people don't like it. Even now there's a whole bunch of people still on the Iowa hype train, neither don't understand, can't accept, or won't admit that they are not those angry, bitter, hate-filled people anymore. Iowa made when they were all at their rock bottom and they captured it with that album. I would never wish that on them again, for them to have to hit rock bottom to create another album like Iowa.
Slipknot my favorite band, greetings from Mexico
Greetings from Canada! This is wickedly awesome!!!!!
Greetings from the US, the album is great
Greets from us!

Slipknot never disappoints every album the songs are great can listen straight through.
I am 64 and Slipknot is my favorite band. I saw them often live and they never disappoint me. = Maggot forever.
You are awesome
Really didn't expect something like this.I think it's fair to say the opening riff is kinda progressive-y and I absolutely love it
I honestly think of Alice in wonderland when it comes to the chorus.
"Your condition is a symptom, we'll have to give you medicine for the dead (Drink me)"
Joey and Paul might be gone. But they will never die, especially when slipknot makes music like this banger
Wow. That was a banger! The vocal melody choices were epic and the song dynamics were unique but perfect.
Una suave caricia al alma, una entrada increíble de Craig junto Sid, me recuerdan al antiguo Slipknot y al mismo tiempo a esa gran evolución 🇦🇷🔥

This song is just EPIC!!! My "repeat song" for the next year 🖤
Honestly I feel like overall, the album was pretty good, but the second half of it was PHENOMENAL! The shift to a darker, heavier tone with more atmosphere; I want more of THAT Slipknot!
I lov when Slipknot delivers something melancholy with something chaotic! F*ck! this is great! Slipknot Forever!

Absolutely beautiful intro straight to why I love slipknot
I really dig the eerie sampling in the beginning of this ,it gives me self titled vibes ,it got that atmospheric tone to it.I love how EVERYONE gets to shine musicially on this album to

My only regret in life is not seeing slipknot live yet. I’m 32 been listening since I was 11-12. And now my 12 yr old son loves them too. Be amazing if one day we could go together and see them live ❤
Life is short. Do it. I took my oldest son to see his first show as an earIy 14th birthday present. He later said it was the best gift he ever had.
He wiII be 30 on Weds and we still go headbanging 😂🤘 I will go til they plant me, the end. Music is therapy and Iive shows are amazing.

So excited for this album!
"’Medicine For The Dead’ is one of those songs about anyone
who deals with depression. physical depression and clinical depression, who knows the feeling that you get when you start to feel the numbness come on, and you know there's nothing you can do about it, you just have to ride it out. Even if you take meds for it, there's nothing you can do. The fact that the minutes and the hours feel so long, and you're waiting for that wave to go away. For me, it takes at least three days of
dealing with that. I don’t take meds for it. I just try to deal with it and surround myself with people who will coax me out of it. So ‘Medicine For The Dead’ is almost from the therapist's standpoint, where you're trying to find the right combination of chemicals for the numb, for the living comatose."
-Corey Taylor
Slipknot is the best band . The music help me with the bullying when i was at school . Keep the good work 🤟

thanks for your service in protecting nature and people
I can say that it is perhaps the softest Slipknot album that has ever been released. However, the band members still keep the change alive and renew themselves. Musically satisfying if you don't expect a really hard Slipknot album... they take you to different lands and lay your dreams at your feet.
Best way to start the morning!
They are always on point and evolve with each album ;been bleeding with them since wait and bleed
Wait and bleed hooked me too. Haven't stopped listening since and never will
Very melodic , atmospheric and completely gripping, definitely one of the best from the new album.

People whine and complain about everything. Just ignore them.
It's just...
Not heavy enough...
@@istarteverysentencewithbro Then you probably have ADHD and stopped listening before it got to the midsection where the song totally made a heavy turn.
@@istarteverysentencewithbro the refrain part of this song is one of the heaviest moments on this entire record and the song in general has some of Corey's best screams in 20 years.
It's been the same for so many years now whenever an album comes out and its (shocking to no one) not as heavy or unhinged as Iowa and instead experiments with new stuff, Im glad theyre still making good music in their 40s and 50s not caring about the otherwise ungodly toxic community
