Harleys are cool bikes. They are really a joy to ride. They are raw and have no frills. Easy to work on and highly customizable.
The HD sportster has a rev limiter built in from the factory no tack is needed these sportsters are one of the oldest racing sports bikes made in America "RAW & Crude" Mr. Sales man. Just like a Classic Harley should be.
I don't understand that logic. So, a rev limiter isn't going to help someone when they want to shift at a specific RPM while riding or racing. Nobody wants to bang their bike off the limiter when they don't have to because HD was too cheap to add a tach. They eventually added an analog tach to the bottom section of the speedo and that sucked too. I have my rev limiter set at 7500 RPM, so a tach was a must. If someone is leaving their bike stock and doesn't ride it hard then sure a tach is useless. The Sportster isn't a "sport bike" either, and if is then it is the slowest, poorest handling, soggy stopping sport bike out there. I love my Sportster, and even with a fully built 1250cc motor, clutch, suspension and brakes with a carbon fiber body I would not consider it a sport bike.
@@jonnymac8925 The fastest Harley I own doesn't have a tachometer or a speedometer. Sounds like you need to find a faster bike. Your HP to weight ratio is more than likely unmatched.
@@miguelsalami bahaha yah, okay. You clearly haven't a clue what you are talking about. I've never seen a drag bike or any track bike for that matter and I have 20 years as a motorcycle tech but sure thing. The bike weighs under 500lbs and makes well over 100hp to the wheel. I'm not sure how you equate a bike with a tach to a slow bike but that makes absolutely 0 sense. Thanks for the laugh😂 "your power to weight ratio is unmatched"..... that makes no sense and has nothing to do with a tachometer. Have fun banging your bike off the redline while being super fast😂😂😂😂
Your father has a knucklehead that is raked out and isn't racing anybody on a track regardless of how much power it makes and can't even make a turn yet you are bragging about it being a flat track, sand racing drag bike that isn't set up for any of those things and you own an 883r. I have a 1984 Honda Magna 750, an 1983 Kawasaki kz550 Spectre, 2009 Suzuki gsxr600,2004 Suzuki DR650,2014 Yamaha yz125, 1992 Harley Davidson FXR Super Glide 1340 and a 2018 Sportster 48. I am just finishing up my Sportster build, I built a 100+hp 1250cc, suspension, brakes, clutch, carbon fiber body and I can run high 9's, low 10's on 5 of my bikes anyday of the week. Oh, btw the power to weight on my lightest Harley is .2135 hp/lb and that is not my fasest or lightest bike by quite a bit, but I sure do love my Harleys.
i own one of these in the burnt orange. I put American Elite tires on it and it handles very well on curves and rides great.

I wouldn’t start on this unless you rode dirt bikes growing up and understand clutch and brakes. If so, it’s just more power same technique.
did it come with forward foot pegs??? Dunlops tires the best...Harley tires are Dunlops. Recommend better handgrips, and stay with stock mufflers.
