The state is trying to take away a program that allows parents of medically disabled children who need nursing level care to provide the care for them. There aren’t enough home nurses and there’s no way to work when your child needs medical attention 24/7. We are paid based on our child’s needs and it’s billed through insurance and paid through individual companies that provide home based care. If we lose this, we cannot work and could lose the ability to pay for the gas that gets us to and from necessary doctor appointments, therapies, and to provide housing for those kiddos. We are terrified. Please help if you can. You have a HUGE platform and you know what it’s like to worry about your child.

Only 14% of Iowans voted and Trump got just over half, so 7%! Which once again begs the question- Why, in a country of 330 million and at least 150 million voters, why do we allow a few thousand in as few select states decide who our candidates and president are, because of our failed primary system. and totally undemocratic electoral college.

We will see how things play out, but 49% of Iowa Republicans who voted did so against him. Also, the voter abstention rate was enormous … that doesn’t look good for the general election. In November he isn’t running against other Republicans.
