- The Annual Cumbria Easter Rally took place in and around Kirkby Stephen, Brough and the surrounding area this Easter weekend as well as the early Saturday evening road run, here is footage of the road run caught near Great Asby followed by stills of the individual vehicles taking part, at one point you can hear a quad bike which was the local farmer checking on all his young lambs and he also makes an appearance, hope you enjoy watching.
Thousands of childhood/young adult/adult memories going along the road all at once!! 😉👍
Amazing cavalcade of vehicles and in particular the assortment of trucks and commercials vehicles that have survived to this day.🚚👍
Thanks Stephen, yes it’s always lovely to see these vehicles still running and the trucks and commercial vehicles especially after there working life and still going strong, cheers 👍
How great to be able to watch this video - as I couldn't be there - thanks!
@@robertp.wainman4094 You are very welcome Robert, glad you enjoyed watching, cheers 👍
Great to see and a lovely day in Cumbria! My dad was a self employed lorry driver and in school holidays I would regularly accompany him. Leyland Clydesdale's and later Freighter's were his choice of lorry so it's nice to see some still about!
Thanks Lynden, it’s always great to see these old vehicles still running and the pride the owners have in them, cheers 👍
Love the green double decker bouncing along the country lanes. But what a cute little lorry3:14.
Thanks Andrei, certainly not made for those roads and I would think the top deck would feel like you were on a boat bobbing about 😂 yes that was not like the beast that was following 😂
Excellent show of road transport through the years Nige would have enjoyed the parade myself change to see rubber on tarmac
Very enjoyable thanks Brian
Thanks Brian, it’s the third year I’ve filmed this rally and I really enjoy watching a lot of these classic vehicles which I remember from days past, cheers nige👍
This is amazing!! Thanks ever so much to the cameraman!! 😉👍
Just wow. Brilliant.
Thanks for your lovely comment Peter, glad you enjoyed watching, cheers 👍
A grand day for it compared to todays weather. Nice machines.👍👍
Thanks David, always great to see some of these vehicles still running and a nice reminder of days past with the bonus of good weather when you want it, cheers👍
thank you for the great video.
Thanks for watching and for your kind comment, cheers 👍
Omg 😮 this is absolutely brilliant!!! All the vehicles from my hay day!! 😮😉👍
Great to see all those lovely restored Motors Nige, some nice close ups with the extra zoom, i did see most of these at the Rally but nice to see them in the landscape, cheers Steve . 👍
Did I hear a detriot in there Steve lovely sound my father had won at t BOC transhield it was bedford
Thanks Steve, it’s always great to see these vehicles surviving and still running, credit to the owners for keeping them on the road, cheers 👍
Me at 10:43, bit later than usual due to an unplanned rest on the fell. All good now though. Thanks for the video once again.
Thanks Paul and thanks for the wave, good to see you doing the run again. cheers 👍
God!! This is like a toy vehicle set for real!! 😮😮😮😮 incredible!!
Thanks for all your comments Matt, it was great to see so many classic vehicles on the road run bringing back many happy memories, cheers 👍
@@nige7577 No probs! 😉👍
This is better than TOP GEAR!! 😉👍
Great job Nige , plenty of different vehicles to film especially my favourite the Lotus Sunbeam just going a bit slow for me 😂👍
Thanks Steve, a great variety and a lot more this year, it was a road run not a full blown rally 😂😂 cheers 👍
Brilliant nature at is best- birdsong and lambs plus nostalgia. Wee fiat topolino made me smile.😂
Thanks James, that’s the best part being away from the town noises you pick up the real sound of the countryside, yes that’s a cute one with the lovely hooter, cheers 👍
Ooooof that Detroit sounds healthy 👍👍👍
Thanks Mark, it was certainly a delight to hear, cheers 👍
Great to see an ex IOM road transport services Atlantean on the run…and the Mini at the end hung back for a proper run on the roads…..top man.👍🇮🇲👌
Thanks Andy, yes it was and the Mini well I could hear him coming from a distance and was a pleasure to see and hear, takes you back to the sixties when Minis used to win the Monti Carlo rally, cheers 👍
Very nice Nige, and 'Now for something completely different' eh?
A nice array of vehicles, I assume the road/lane was designated one-way perhaps?
Then so typical, when at 10.00, you wait for a bus, then a 'fleet' come along 😂
Most enjoyable, thanks for being there and staring.
Wonder if any of the 'Bangers & Cash' team were there?
👍
Thanks George, its nice to catch something different now and again and it’s the third year I’ve filmed this rally which was a lot busier this year, the road was open both ways for traffic but nothing past me when the rally vehicles were passing which was ideal, don’t know about you but these vehicles have something about them that’s missing in today’s modern vehicles, 😂 there’s a lot going on between Brough and Kirkby Stephen and a lot of vehicles that don’t do the run so I don’t know on that one but it’s a bloody good programme, glad you enjoyed watching George, cheers nige👍
12:55Mini Cooper saw an opportunity for some rally driving. I'm just disappointed he didn't leap over that hump!
That’s what I was hoping for as I could hear him tearing along before he appeared
Nice assortment of older vehicles I pertikely liked the bonited Volvo truck
Thanks Shaun, glad you enjoyed watching and yes that was a smart one, cheers 👍

Looks like the cars Lorries and buses are on the road again some older ones and some being transfer from North America
Thanks Scott, it’s always great to see these old beauties, cheers 👍
@@nige7577yeah and that’s the vehicles I remember when at the car show event at Webbs and of course remember seeing them when I was younger
Typical..... You stand about all day waiting for a bus.... then 10 of them turn up at the same time......
😂 Yes you’re right on that one, cheers 👍
COMMER TFK 807G.(?) If the owner of the Commer is interested I have an origin hand book for a TS3 Two Stroke, if this is the same as yours your welcome to it, (I know some had P6's instead of the GM) don't want anything for it just that it goes to god use. It's well used and taty, but 99% complete, it's more like a workshop manual than a drivers handbook. Maybe that was a sign of the times, got a problem! FIX IT 😂.
Thanks for watching Richard, hope someone takes up your offer, cheers 👍
