Transport bicycles are an important component in city traffic. Your videos encourage people to head to the bike shop. And in this way, your videos become great helpers for a better world. Thank you Court, you are great.
Thank you so much! I left a corporate job five years ago because I believe that ebikes can make life better (better interactions between people, physical health, money savings) and I wanted to help connect people with the best bike for their lifestyle and budget, I appreciate your compliment and support :)
Holy crap, that is the coolest bike yet. As a full time, home based woodworker, I could pretty much use it for picking up all my wood and for doing all of my deliveries with that thing. As well as picking up the groceries and beer of course. Man, I want one of those!
WOW!!! NICE TO SEE THESE FOLKS AT A YOUNG AGE BEING SO SMART AND HOPEFULLY VERY FINANCIALLY SUCCESSFUL. GREAT INTERVIEW AND THAT GOES OUT TO ALL PARTICIPANT. WISHING YOU THE BEST.
It's a real game changer but what I think the public want to know is a visual test on a real steep uphill down hill with a fully loaded cargo. i.e max specs. Next you could even add a weigh feature for the load. Running an electric bike now for 1800 miles I know that batteries do take a lot of management so the public really do need to know how to be able to have confidence in this battery management process.
The shop looks even better now that we've put the finishing touches on! Hope to see you around NYC sooner rather than later, iGo's got some exciting new bikes you should come check out :D Happy Holidays! -Connor
I want to build a camper on this! this is ideal! this is the actual vehicle I've been looking for, waiting for ,dreaming about I am excited! I will save all of my pennies up for this rig. I also have to say that the excitement and the professional attitude And you can tell that this is definitely the Passion of everybody in the company right down to the guy that holds open the door. I can tell that this is the company I Want to deal with unfortunately I just recently purchased the add motor 350 trike Frankly Because you did not sell a trike And now you come out with this But that's OK I will save and then sell my trike buy this one and build the camper on it!
Great job on the commercial application! We are going to the International Cargo Bike Festival in Berlin in April '18 and hope to see EBR and RadPower exhibiting there!
Cool! I hadn't heard about this event, sounds interesting... feel free to take pictures and post what you see and like there. I don't have a special area in the forums but maybe just in general or other ebikes: electricbikereview.com/forum/
What an awesome vehicle for cargo hauling! You did a great job of getting all the information and visually documenting the features and mechanics of the unit. I wish that I had an extra $5,500 laying around. I could imagine this vehicle filling all kinds of niches that are too big for a wagon yet too small for a pickup. Seems very well thought out, with reverse even! Great job, RAD POWER BIKES !
Just discovered Rad Power Bikes this morning and I'm really impressed. Seems like a great group of guys with ideas, intention and motivation that they should be proud of. I think I'm about to become a customer.
Awesome build! 2.5 kWhs is enough to haul a pretty substantial load/passenger(s) up a substantial hill... or two... Would like to see a hill climb with a load. Wait... added at the end. Thanks Court.
Sweet! I realize this "review" was more of an overview interview type of thing but it was fun to load it up and try some different use cases. I agree, lots of battery capacity so it can really function as a little truck :D
This has to be the BEST electric trike that can actually do REAL work, and at a price that's UNREAL. Such a well thought out vehicle from the ground up. The only thing I can see that I would add, are tie downs on the cargo box with a cargo net accessory. I'm just thinking if you're hauling boxes or whatever, you do want to secure the load, and keep it from bouncing or flying out of the bed and damage the cargo or passing vehicle or worse, someone walking by. Some thing else to think about for fleet vehicles, is maybe a way to mount a radio for communication. I know everyone has a smart phone, EXCEPT ME, but many times companies have radios for commo. Just a thought, as it's easier to hear someone calling on a radio and then grab a mic to talk, than fumbling around with a cell phone while driving. Keep up the great work.
I have been waiting for a Bike/Trike like this. Guess I'll be waiting for a used one coming on the Market, since it is Commercial and You have to Buy Two. For Disabled, (I can't drive a Car, but I can Walk) this would be a Excellent Trike for those of us that would like to get out and Camp or just go places that Mass Transit does not go. It would be Healthier for us too, Mentally and Physically. Freedom and Independence. I can only Hope they would build one for the Public.
Just wanted to echo that it's not just businesses that need this. Many disabled folks can cycle with the right cycle frame design. Sometimes 3 wheels for stability is the adaptation and being able to take cargo as well is a huge plus.
Sure thing! Doing my best to share new and interesting products, updates on the standard stuff that's mainstream, a bit of affordable... and keep it all objective but fun ;)
One topic that wasn't addressed is that being a commercial type vehicle it will be used daily and charged nightly...now here's the problem, the best battery made is by Panasonic and they claim to allow 320-340 charging cycles for the life of the battery, if it's used daily that equates to slightly more than a years worth of battery life at the cost of $880 per unit! Just something to consider, myself, I'll stick with an enclosed cargo van with heat and ac , locking doors and airbags...at the cost of $5500 and $880 annual battery replacement costs along with the afore mentioned amenities a cargo van is superior and more cost effective... and also insurable!
hey Court just wanted to mention that eMTBs are growing in popularity, a lot has to do with you Court. I always recommend you for eMTBs laws and information, so I wasn't trying to promote another site but GMBN is a huge MTB network now they will have eMBN network (starting 2018) where they show tricks and uses of the eMTBs. You started this so that is all I wanted to state Court. keep it up
this looks like the "heavy" version, what about a "lite" touring/ camping/ bikepacking version that can cross countries, and is ready to accept various upgrades and addons like solar panels, more batteries, engine upgrades, even rohloff and pinion systems, belt-drive (anything and everything super durable and super low maintenance), and a massive amt of storage for eqpt and clothes and food supplies? something like a radwagon, but with capable mtb-level suspensions. make 2 versions - one a single track, and another is a three-wheeler (tilting is bloody rad, but expensive tho, optional upgrade?). cuz i'd totally buy. :)
Thank you Meno, I am a big proponent of used leafs as well since they are a great vale but cargo trikes being smaller, easier to park and navigate through urban areas is desireable to alot of businesses looking to move passengers and cargo. At $5,499 the RadBurro is priced at about 1/3rd the price of any other electric cargo trikes just like our line of electric bikes at $1,499 are priced at a fraction of the price of comparable ebikes.
Mike Radenbaugh The New tax plan got rid of the monthly $20.00 employer tax free payment to employee bikers and the free Transit passes. Not for Good Green commuters. Iam going to wait for the used cargo bike market. Thanks
That was very cool. Glad to see this company expand.I have seen these Pedicabs in Saratoga but not electric. They would definitely be more productive. Great review , love to see a variety of bike's
Great video review man! You really ask so many awesome questions for the consumer. I launched up a startup here in NYC called Pottyallthetime and I’ve been having battery issues with the setup I have. Looking forward to getting in touch with these gentlemen for further units in the future. Thx again!
What a beautiful rad bike , I wish that I had a lot of money I would purchase one of these cargo haulers , right now I'm enjoying my radwagon that I purchased about 2 months ago & I love it , I can only afford too purchase one accessory a month , thanks for the review my friend !!! 👍😀
Nice. Needs brighter taillights closer to the back end so they can both be seen. If I was driving that in traffic, I'd want to be impossible NOT to be seen.
Very very nice 👍. Being a retired police officer I have to wonder how many times that the rider that’s using this bike will get stopped and how does he prove that he’s legally using this on a street with out registration and insurance? Also : Does Rad Power Bikes Ship this to a buyer ?
I so love all things bicycle, this is way cool, I would 👍🏼 love to have one. But unfortunately like most of these electrical contraptions I cannot afford any of them. I would so love to have an E bike, I have seen many that I lust for🙀. But I am poor, fixed income and there's no way I could ever buy anything like this, but we may dream😸
I am very very poor senior citizen. The only way that I will be able to afford this is to find a way to earn money with it , start a business and buy one as a business asset or necessary .
If it is going to replace a car then you would save soo much on fuel /maintenance etc making it a good investment. You can get a decent ebike for commuting for around 1200€
Damn dude, they nailed it! So many applications for this beast. It seems well-thought-out, all the motorcycle specs are right where they're needed. I'm still hoping they consider offering an unrestricted mid-drive option (like the Bafang Ultra or something) for the Radwagon. Belt drive with IGH would also be dope on that thing... glad to see they're experimenting with new motors though!
if you wanted to use this inside and avoid smudging floors, there are red tires made of anti skid rubber, i've seen it for 26 inch wheels, and forklifts before.
i would design one for backing up to a fully loaded pallet and lift it up for inside of a warehouse. it would need hub motors instead of a transaxle for my idea though...
court, I could see these for stagehands and lighting and sound technicians at concert venues, such as the outdoor outside lands festival. As it is now, they use four-wheeled propane powered 'carts' that cost more. Often the loads carried are light and/or have one worker just getting from jobsite to big rig supply trucks and trailers. These would be very practical and temptingly cost effective. (memo to sales team)
OMG! This trike has so many applications: neighborhood yard maintenance; golf course maintenance; use on hobby farms, or in orchards or vineyards; street vending; campus commuting taxi's; park tours; name it. I suspect this trike would sell for less in Asia and could probably become a hot product. It seems with Rad Power Bikes reaching into Canada and Europe it would seem a logical choice for them to provide something useful to the third world. Starting in Asia and eventually moving into Africa (Note: Solar) this trike could help a lot of people with transport and small business. The RadBurro seems to be riding a thin line on street legal. I'd like to know more about the rear suspension system and whether it's applicable to all attachment options. My other concern is the lighting. I didn't see the turn signals in operation, but it seems that feature is available. Do brake lights come on when brakes are applied? My thought on the lighting system is that it should be beefed up a bit. I'd like to see two extra red tail lights added to the ends of the rear axle. Maybe a couple of small orange lights added to the front of the fenders. I even thought that may be two very small orange lights at the ends of the handlebar. These are just some tripped up thoughts. How would you handle a left turn on a bike like this at a very busy, controlled, intersection?
I can definitely see small business owners ditching taco trucks for this bike as other food businesses. Like an entire farmers market made out of ebikes. Too sad that once people start making money with them, local government will find a way to make money on them too, registration, taxes, insurance, the same old same old.
@@kaychapparo5347 nothing wrong with taxing businesses, I'm talking about bicycles, bicycles cause the least amount of wear on the roads and are the ones who get the least infrastructure investment from tax money in most countries, definitely the US being one of them. What's the purpose of taxing a form of vehicle that you aren't even going to support? Little to no infrastructure, highest crime rate nationwide is bike theft. Why tax cyclists if you aren't going to protect their bikes from getting stolen neither will you expand bike infrastructure for safe riding to reduce the number of bike related deaths and injuries? Motor vehicles have been paying for taxes and registration for generations and I still ride on poorly repaired roads here in the US, it isn't lack of tax money, is lack of honesty on what they are spending our tax dollars. Less than 2% of stolen bikes ever get recovered by the police, and less than 1% make their way back to their owners. Every year over 300.000 bikes get stolen in the US and universities believe this number is below reality as many bike owners don't bother to report bike theft knowing that their bike doesn't make the cut of minimum 1000 dollars for the theft to be considered a misdemeanor hence the police would investigate, if your bike is worth less than 1000 dollars, your report only becomes a number to the statistics that they do nothing about it every single year. Now you ask me why tax bike owners? I'm not against taxation, when our tax money gets invested in quality of life and safety, bike owners don't have either. So why should we be taxed and be forced into bureaucracies and regulations that aren't going to make a positive change? Bike owners are on their own, if we don't stick together we may as well lose the little of enjoyment we have left. Businesses already pay capital gain tax, sales tax, workers compensation, insurance, registration, depending where you live, state tax, city tax, municipal tax. Why should we be taxed further more for pedaling our business on a bike? The day bike infrastructure covers all major roads and there are multiple mingling free bike paths and bike theft is reduced to less than 2% we can talk about taxing and registering bike owners.
I live in a town that is twelve square miles, this pedal assist electric trike would be awesome here. I already have an electric scooter, but I could see myself getting one of these.
Le Lu Yan that’s the regular standard it had on it but once you add more features to boost more power and speed oh yeah the price will go up and I have my own cargo trikes too just like the rad I do my work in New York City 🌃
I love the fact it has a reverse gear. I dont comprehend why Joe Smuckatello has to have a business and he needs to buy two of them, one for on hand parts? If i could buy an E Bike this is the one i would like to own, Very well engineered.
Have no interest in this bike but its hard not to like this company with how well its run and how approachable the owners are and how great the customer service is. Always rooting for them.
With righly (dis)balanced and high cargo, you can tilt even a snowboard in a steady curve. BTW, it will be really nice, if someone try to produce electric bicycle trike with modular cargo space and stiff, trike-van like hood. If done right, and the backseat of the driver can be layd back horizontaly, the trike would have a nice potential as a camper. This trike is not so bad either, but the pallet-sized cargo area is too small for somebody to lay down in it. On the other hand, if the camper is build as kinda tent-on-trailer, pop-up, or extendable, it should work just fine.
Love the concept but....it is so wide that it really needs to take up a regular lane as it appears to be too wide for the typical bike lane. If this is the case then it will be treated as a motor vehicle and require all that that entails.
I wish these were still available. Looked on the Rad website and they're not available. I also wish that a business could buy only ONE of these. The minimum order was two.
Uberize this in key west florida. Golf courses could use this too! Definatly a money saver compared to strictly electric rickshaws. I would lease these to a golf course since theyr loaded for 5 months free and hope the buy or lease after that. NYU might also use some for moving day since cars cant enter buildings but bikes can. Definatly lease these out to colleges they have moola to spend.
I got to ride one the other day and it's quite a machine... feels like a tank compared to most other trikes I've ridden. IMO more usable cargo space would be nice...
Where I live we have a 1200 watt limit on electric assist bikes. And with hills at 30 to 35% common nothing less would be sufficient, I installed a clinometer. On thry=ttle only a 21% grade allows only 11 to 12 KPH. On 17% I can do 28 KPH. I weigh 183 pounds and my electric scooter a RAM Mia 1200 watt.. Very apparrent a transmission would allow it to take hills better. On the flat it will do 56 KPH which is fine, as intown speed limit is 40 KPH but mostly 30 KPH. On the highway 60 KPH limit but mostly 50. Only two highways RTE 1 and RTE 2 Intercontinental Highways allow 80 KPH. The Ram Mia cost $1600 with a 2 year warranty .$1400 with a 90 day warranty.
For $5,500 it would be better to get the ZEV Electric T3-1, which is 3,000 watts, fully enclosed with heater and with windshield wipers, seats three, can carry. 700 lbs, range out to 100 miles. The T3-5D with the hatchback and 5 doors is more cool.
I like very much and it is almost within my price range...but shoot! I have to buy two. Hmmm. Maybe I can get someone else to partner up with me on this deal? We'll see. I really like the cargo box, but I think the Pedacab accessory is more practical for me. but, I will have to find a way to increase its weather resistance, because the Winter weather here in Nevada can get very cold. How much does the pedicab attachment seal up against the weather? It was mostly open in this demo. Anyway, "Rad Power Bikes", congratulations on a well designed item of green transport and utility.
This may actually be a great investment. It would be cool to have a pedicab business for the spring and summer in Denver. Do you plan on offering rain covers for the pedicab?
I'm not sure about a full rain cover but they do have the roof thing that was shown at the end of the video when we were all riding around, I stayed fairly dry but the pedaler would get wet (just need a nice rain hat/coat/pants etc.) I visit Denver a lot, hello friend!
I Can See One In Every Warehouse !!! That Would Be Great To Fill A Small Order Or To Carry Something From One End To The Other Especially If It Heavy .....
this is very nice, good way to go in many places with different ppl that cannot pedal much ,1 question is how many hrs you can go or how far you can possibly do and if we can solar to go more far?

Sure thing! Doing my best to share new and interesting products, updates on the standard stuff that's mainstream, a bit of affordable... and keep it all objective but fun ;)
I would love to own one.i just imagine having a successful business running so efficiently with this cost saving baby

Shining the light in the marketing guys face... well done!
I really like the guy ridding it. After every question he answers, he can't help but smile, like "You won't believe this!"
Great product R.P.B. Keep up the great work!

Wow...I am very impressed..trying to figure out how I could use one..but I would like one very much..great job Rad Bikes
i'm dreaming of riding all the bikes you reviewed.
That's going to be a VERY long dream then, lol
Would like to see this model (& others) with BelT drive!
rad power bikes never fails but they forget 1 important feature. SUSPENSION! Finally they upgraded.
This is what I have been looking for. The price tag is to high. You can buy a used Leaf or Smart for $6,000 and stay dry and warm. Good Luck Mr. Mike.

meno, it is a bike not a tiny car.
I would love to see some taco trikes using something like this. Fantastic.
This thing is awesome !. - And it isn't expensive for what it offers !

Very interested in the burro which is priced closely to what my current HaiBike (xduro29r) cost was
I can definitely see small business owners ditching taco trucks for this bike as other food businesses. Like an entire farmers market made out of ebikes. Too sad that once people start making money with them, local government will find a way to make money on them too, registration, taxes, insurance, the same old same old.
What is wrong with the government making money off of them? They need to pay taxes and fees for the roads they use.
Awesome bike, love the heavy duty motorcycle parts and the charging on board! Is that a motorcycle suspension fork too?
I live in a town that is twelve square miles, this pedal assist electric trike would be awesome here. I already have an electric scooter, but I could see myself getting one of these.
I think 5.5k is a steal for a bike like this.
I was thinking the same . When you look at the price of many higher end e bikes , $5,500 IS a steal for this trike.
Le Lu Yan that’s the regular standard it had on it but once you add more features to boost more power and speed oh yeah the price will go up and I have my own cargo trikes too just like the rad I do my work in New York City 🌃
KingJeffrey718 you have cargo trikes in manhattan? I need one for groceries.
Definitely nice good luck guys all the best!
This is amazing! Other countries have this type for a few kids, and larger dogs. I would get this for my dog!
I love the fact it has a reverse gear. I dont comprehend why Joe Smuckatello has to have a business and he needs to buy two of them, one for on hand parts? If i could buy an E Bike this is the one i would like to own, Very well engineered.
30 cases of soft drinks is very close to 300 pounds. Not bad, handled it like nuthin...
Have no interest in this bike but its hard not to like this company with how well its run and how approachable the owners are and how great the customer service is. Always rooting for them.
Bring it back into production please! I have over 17,000 miles on my Radburro and everyone keeps asking me where to buy.
The minimum order was two.
im waiting for someone to convert this into a camping ebike.
Rad power must make electric quadracycle which will be fun off road
Love your crisp & direct presentations. Great crew at RadPower Bike Co., well done again !
The hobbyist gardener in me loves this. It tilts!
Great review 👏👏👏
Thanks you so much
Excellent review, exiting product! Thanks!
Worth every dime of 5.5k!!
It's 6.9K for the box version, and you have to buy two of whatever model, so the total is 14k or 12k.
I got to ride one the other day and it's quite a machine... feels like a tank compared to most other trikes I've ridden. IMO more usable cargo space would be nice...
Bring back the RadBurro! PLEASE!
Ready to buy one.
I like the security features on it!
I like this ...Really great...So is going to be any Solar help on these...coming soon...for the pedicab
COOL! Now for a scale retro ServiCar. I'd LOVE a "sport" model ElekTrike ;-)
Awesome. I'm getting my trike next week.
I Can See One In Every Warehouse !!! That Would Be Great To Fill A Small Order Or To Carry Something From One End To The Other Especially If It Heavy .....
Cool bike like the rickshaw the best
Me too, it was fun to ride around like that with Mike :D
How about the RadCamper?
Great Bike idea - this is the future. I want one!
THIS IS SOMETHING WE NEED MORE OF... ..A CAMPER SHELL...WITH SOLAR PANELS...
I like the handle bar.If they put that in radrover 5,its great.
I need this battery for my rad rover lol
this is very nice, good way to go in many places with different ppl that cannot pedal much ,1 question is how many hrs you can go or how far you can possibly do and if we can solar to go more far?
Great show and a great company. Bravo
I WANT A FEW TO DELIVER FIREWOOD LOCALLY / AND DO PARTS RUNS FOR OUR SHOP !
I would love one also! I will never own one because they only sell in pairs:( You would think a sale is a sale, but not so much.
