Senator Kennedy could play detective Columbo if they ever resurrect the TV series. The culprits were often amused by him, and just as they thought they were going to get away with murder, Columbo would find a way to trap them or find enough evidence to make them confess.

Well let's burn all Pre-ACT/SAT manuals as well. They have the same function. They prepare students for an exam that will have similar conventions. I mean with that logic, we'd all be doomed! There is no way the White House knows what Senators will ask a candidate in a totally different hearing. The Senators also prepare. They use former rulings, legal journals in which candidates contributed, legal positions of entirely different candidates. Therefore, there is no need to assert that content from a former hearing is a "cheat sheet". LOL!

Every person testifying before any congressional committee says that. Thank you, Senator. Thank you for that question, Congressman. They do it ad nauseam. It takes up time during the questioning period, albeit just a few seconds, but when it done numerous times over the time limit, the appointees might get asked perhaps one or two questions less than they otherwise would. They want the least amount of questions asked and answered in an attempt to not screw up or get into areas they'd rather avoid.

Bad take. All of this is public record. Obviously, you prepare for a Senate hearing ahead of time and one of the most obvious ways to do so is to look at the questions that were asked in the past. If you are a nominee and you don't do this, you are setting yourself up for failure.
There's plenty of other reasons to not like certain of these nominees but that shouldn't be one of them.

He questions just like my WW2 veteran father would when any boy came to take either of my sisters out on a date. It was fun to watch and listen to also. Their answers dictated what time they HAD to have them home. Failure to be on time was not an option. RIP Pop.

3:30 I have been in from of this judge before in the federal court in Chicago. He is a magistrate judge. Surprising to see him as a candidate for appellate court.
