When i was 15 after seeing the film many times already i finally did psy attention to the story while watching and got the picture. Since then i read the book and understand alot better. My mother was absolutely terrified of this movie, the funny part was that she didn't even see the movie. She, I guess from what I gathered from yesterday's conversation was that apparently there was an interview or trailer or something on tv where they we're talking about the movie and I guess they showed clips or scenes from the movie, that alone scared my mom shitless. She couldn't sleep for months. Tbh, I don't ever want to watch it just because Regan is just fucking nightmare fuel.😢
I think that the real horror in "The Exorcist" is what they put that 13 year old through. It was child abuse. And that she stayed grounded and balanced after what she went through and what happened after the film release is a testimony of Linda's strength and resilience.
I dont really think it was child abuse. She has talked many times about how great the director was and how he always made sure that she was mentally and physically ok every step of the way. Her mom was the one that agreed to this so that's important and Linda always seems to have nothing but good things to say about being on set with these people. It's a really really extreme movie I'm not gonna deny that lol but I think the fact that she wanted to play this role is all that matters
