It was a true honor to be asked to participate in the cover of this classic song with one of my favorite singers on the planet! I hope everyone enjoys listening to this as much as I enjoyed playing it! Thank you Ronnie, Alessandro and Frontiers!
Believe it or not, there are others out there! I curate a spotify playlist of Black Sabbath covers, with special preference for all the non-Ozzy years.
The Tony Martin era is fantastic, and this version is so good that I hope it makes all to go back to Tyr, Headless Cross and The shining. Great homage done by RR.
Ronnie Romero has announced the upcoming release of 'Raised On Heavy Radio', a companion album of sorts to his first covers album, "Raised On Radio", on January 27, 2023. This time out, Romero pays tribute to legendary artists from the metal world like Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Accept, Metallica, and more. Special guests on the album include Gus G. (Firewind, Ozzy Osbourne), Chris Caffery (Savatage, Spirits Of Fire), Roland Grapow (Masterplan, Helloween), and more. Pre-order/save "Raised On Heavy Radio" HERE: orcd.co/heavyradio Romero's voice and prolific musical activity have brought him to the forefront of the hard rock/metal scene where he can be seen/heard with Lords of Black, The Ferrymen, Sunstorm, Rainbow, and the Michael Schenker Group. Through his work fronting these acts, it is no stretch to see how the artists covered on this album have influenced Romero and understand how his voice is well suited to give them a proper tribute. Ambitious and driven as always, this record is another special treat for fans while Romero continues work on his proper debut solo album of original material. Romero's first solo covers album, "Raised On Radio", featured covers of classics that meant something special to Romero over the years and helped forge this talented singer's musical style. Songs by legendary acts like Survivor, Bad Company, Foreigner, Queen, Led Zeppelin, and more were given Romero's talented vocal treatment. These classic rock and AOR covers showcased a different side of Romero's musical influences and were executed with passion, charisma, and power. Now, with this second installment of covers, "Raised On Heavy Radio", Romero showcases his love of metal music, for which he is more widely known. Through Romero's career thus far, he has performed killer renditions of several rock and metal classics as part of his shows fronting legendary acts like Rainbow and the Michael Schenker Group (MSG). He's also covered classic songs by Journey, Queen, Rainbow, and more with Spanish metallers Lords Of Black. So, with trying his hand at covers by legendary artists being familiar territory already, both cover albums were waters that Romero was comfortable wading into. “Raised On Heavy Radio” Tracklisting: 1. The Battle Rages On (Deep Purple cover) 2. Metal Daze (Manowar cover) 3. Turbo Lover (Feat. Nozomu Wakai) (Judas Priest cover) 4. Hallowed Be Thy Name (Iron Maiden cover) 5. Fast As A Shark (Accept cover) 6. No More Tears (Feat. Gus G.) (Ozzy Osbourne cover) 7. The Shining (Feat. Chris Caffery) (Black Sabbath cover) 8. A Light In The Black (Rainbow cover) 9. Kind Hearted Light (Feat. Roland Grapow) (Masterplan cover) 10. You Don’t Remember, I’ll Never Forget (Yngwie Malmsteen) 11. The Four Horsemen (Metallica) 12. Turbo Lover (Alternate Solo Version) (Judas Priest cover) Digital Bonus Track Line-Up: Ronnie Romero - vocals Jose Rubio - guitars Javi Garcia - bass Andy C - drums Alessandro Del Vecchio - keyboards Additional Musicians: Alfredo Alonso - Guitar solo on 'Metal Daze' Nozomu Wakai - Guitar solo on 'Turbo Lover' Gus G. - Guitar solo on 'No More Tears' Chris Caffery - All guitars on 'The Shining' Roland Grapow - Rhythm & lead guitars on 'Kind Hearted Light' Corina Minda - Backing vocals on 'Metal Daze', 'Fast As A Shark', and spoken vocals on 'No More Tears' Produced by: Alessandro Del Vecchio Executive Producer/A&R: Serafino Perugino Social Media: facebook.com/ronnieromeroofficial instagram.com/ro_ck_nnie/
💕🕊️... Merci frontiers music💕🕊️🤙🥰
I worked at Mates in North Hollywood when Badlands was rehearsing there in 1988. I got to know Ray Gillen, Jake Eric and Greg really well just hanging out. Ray sang the original tracks on this record and wrote these lyrics. Not Tony Martin, who am a very big fan of. Ray and Tony Iommi we’re having issues in the studio. Ray was fired replaced by Tony Martin, who sang all Ray’s lyrics and melodies. Ray, singing in the original 16 track demo is on UA-cam. I believe there was five or six songs, roughly mixed some didn’t have guitar solos. Ray Gillen was one of the most spiritual guys I ever met super cool cat his loss was a big blow to rock ‘n’ roll. Badlands was pretty fucking cool. Ronnie Romero has some great pipes. He sings the older Michael Schenker group material as good as Gary. Kudos to Sins a good man’s brother on this new record. God bless, Mark, Don and Mel.
I'm amazed by the talent of Blackmore. He decided to make just one tour of Rainbow and ...meet new star - Ronnie Romero. Seriously, he got very good voice and I realy like that he build his music on the best of old rock. Long live rock'n roll.
its a shame that the tony martin era is not named when you hear black sabbath because he was with Dio the best line up and headless cross was the best sabbath album .
Good God, what a fabulous un-obvious choice, a sort of hidden gem that will perhaps now get its due. The production and performances are fabulous. It may well top the original. Epic 👏🤘
que uniao esse album do sabbath e muito injustiçado , tanto Tony Martin , como Tommy Yommi fazem um excelente trabalho , na voz do Ronnie ficou otimo 🤩
If I was not watching the video I would swear that it was Tony Martin (Black Sabbath) singing this. He is also great on the CD 'Magnus Karlsson - Freefall. This was a great cover and they really did justice to the original.
Wow! This kicks ass! I can hear the influence of some of my favorite legendary artists in your performance, but you both make it your own. Excellent work. Thank you. Rock on, Fellas. \m/ \m/
Much respect to Tony Martin and his time with Black Sabbath, who should have more recognition and respect from both the band and fans. But, the maximum recognition is due to the legendary RAY GILLEN. He (Ray Gillen) deserves all the recognition.
I agree. He's the greatest singer/vocalist of our time. Artists like Ronnie are a rare breed and should be given as much exposure as possible. Gotta keep the music 🎶 alive 🎶 !!
The fact that he is going to do "The Battle Rages On", "The Shining" , and "A Light In The Black" is amazing. Some of the least popular songs by the most popular bands. I love it so far and can't wait for the album and that project with jusdas and pantera guys
Ronnie, your voice is the perfect match for classic metal for sure! And Chris, I see the green SG makes an appearance again! You sure love that guitar, you’ve played it on all the TSO tours every year since you got it! (I’ve seen them all!) Great job by all!
Es un temazo, injustamente semiolvidado al pertenecer a los años más oscuros de Black Sabbath, en los que solamente permanecía Tony Iommi de la formación original.
A nod to the excellence of Sir Anthony Iommi. Great work gents. I must add one other vital component that makes up this period of Sabbath's mastery. Mr. Tony Martin, vocalist extraordinaire.
It was a true honor to be asked to participate in the cover of this classic song with one of my favorite singers on the planet! I hope everyone enjoys listening to this as much as I enjoyed playing it! Thank you Ronnie, Alessandro and Frontiers!
toni is absolutely amazing, toni era in Black sabbath was my favorite period, hugs from brazil chris.
Eternal Idol... One of the best Sabbath albums ever and really very overlooked great job Chris sounds amazing
Thank you so much for this. This is one of my favorite Black Sabbath tracks.
Excellent work, as always, Chris!
Good job Christopher. Savatage forever \m/
