70s and 80s were the era of tamil cinema... so great to hear that directors met at each ones homes for discussions, more kind of family get-togethers..but now she rightly pointed out that they meet in bars..!! Mahendran, Ilayaraja, Kamal, Rajini, KBalachandar, Bharathiraja, Bhagyaraj...the icons of tamil cinema. In all, I pick up my Maestro Ilayaraja to be my God even now...! Hats off to this wonderful interview..felt sad that it ended so soon...!!
Almost a mini master class in cinematography, Ashok Kumar means lighting and Balu means composition, amazing details. They say focus pulling is the toughest job in a movie set. Surprised to know she worked as a focus puller in Jonny. Too bad she never practiced cinematography, it would have been awesome to see her aesthetic vision through the lens. Another beautiful interview. I see the admiration in your eyes and your approach either to what she's saying or that fact that she's such an experienced senior in the industry. I hated "Sindhu Bharavi" as I was in high school and could not relate to the subject. I saw it recently in my 40s and loved the movie to bits. She spoke so beautifully about the relationships in the film industry in those good old golden days when there was no superstardom ( or so I think) and people helped each other to survive like when Kamal sang for Raja sir s troupe. I did not know that. Beautifully said, that you can easily point out a "Bharatiraja" or a "KB" sir s movies but will not be able to point out a Mahendran sir's movie. I did not know the existence of Mahendran sir's existence but knew and loved all his movie. I enjoyed watching his muted and menacing acting in the recent movies. RIP Mahendran Sir. what do you mean its local? graphics card issue is a high possibility - depending on the software used and rendering issues. you cant say 'definitely' unless you worked on the project. the editor may have edited it correctly but had layers and those would generally not show up , tho its a high chance it will if the software plays upon rendering process due to graphics card issues. everyone loves to blame instead of giving the benefit of the doubt.

Man i don't understand this channel, you conduct interviews for actors who are tamilian but can speak english in tamil, but for telugu actors it's strictly english.....also please provide subtitles since all south indians don't speak tamil and nor can they understand the language.....
karthik invincible I mean, it’s because BR speaks Tamil. He can’t conduct the interview in telugu if he doesn’t speak Telugu. I think with Tamil speaking celebrities he picks the language based on what the interviewee seems most comfortable and natural. From how natural Suhasini sounds here it seems to me that half English half Tamil is her natural mode of speaking. Besides, many of the anecdotes she is describing did actually happen in Tamil, on the sets of Tamil movies. Other interviews, for eg Madhavan and Mani Ratnam, are people who are I think more comfortable conversing in English than in Tamil, so the interview is entirely in English. Totally agree with you about the subtitles.
@@ckannan90 well, I'm talking about the channel called FILM COMPANION SOUTH here and not about a particular individual, so aren't there any other anchors from Kannada, malayalam and telugu industries to conduct interviews when interviewing personalities from those industries is the question. Frankly, nobody should expect BR to know everything about the remaining three industries.

When Telugu actors are interviewed by this channel, they always speak in English. Then why not actors who speak Tamil do the same? They advertise their channel as Film Companion South, but cannot understand basic fact that all South Indians can’t understand Tamil. From how natural Suhasini sounds here it seems to me that half English half Tamil is her natural mode of speaking. Besides, many of the anecdotes she is describing did actually happen in Tamil, on the sets of Tamil movies. Other interviews, for eg Madhavan and Mani Ratnam, are people who are I think more comfortable conversing in English than in Tamil, so the interview is entirely in English.

@@ckannan90 well, I'm talking about the channel called FILM COMPANION SOUTH here and not about a particular individual, so aren't there any other anchors from Kannada, malayalam and telugu industries to conduct interviews when interviewing personalities from those industries is the question. Frankly, nobody should expect BR to know everything about the remaining three industries.

When Telugu actors are interviewed by this channel, they always speak in English. Then why not actors who speak Tamil do the same? They advertise their channel as Film Companion South, but cannot understand basic fact that all South Indians can’t understand Tamil. Suhasini garu is considered a popular actress in Telugu industry too... so what about Telugu people who are interested to listen to her interview? Not even subtitles are provided. Very disappointing!!
