I can just picture his family at home. They've invited all their friends around. Mom's going "You see that? That's my boy! That's my boy! That's my... what the f... oh, uh, no. You thought I was pointing at this guy? Nah, I meant the guy behind him."
I did this in a track race once, I thought I won! I started cheering and dancing then everyone else kept going. I can tell you the emotional response of realizing that there was one more lap is terrible. Lucky for me, my ego tells me it really was the last lap and everyone else is crazy.
haha!...I've never felt as if I belonged on this primative planet. Even my mother says I've never been normal. She said even when I was three and in nursary school, it was sports day and I was in the running race, every one ran down to the finnish line but I had fuck off on my own and ran to the hedge. She said I was so proud of myself, delighted in my own glory. Watching this has healed my long endured wounds. Only when you own the power to define your own reality can you ever be free.
Watch at 2:05. Even on the actual last lap, the top two finishers celebrated a half second early. They crossed a faint white line and thought it was the finish line, but it wasn't. Both lifted up. Then the second place guy realized it wasn't over yet and put his head back down. I'm not sure he didn't actually cross in first place.
In Little League I hit a triple down the line off the best pitcher in the league. I slid into 3rd and the ump yelled Safe. I was so happy I jumped up and down. Kid tagged me ump yelled out. I cried
Seeking for a comment after todays MotoGP race in Catalunya. Weird that I'm the only one who remembered this moment rather that Simon's identical mistake in 250cc(or 125cc)
LoL! I did something like that in a courier race once. I went to the wrong address/finish point. Really sucked because I was on a MTB and the next MTB was about 20 positions behind me (the first 30 positions were mostly road bikes).
At first I thought that it was going to be a guy celebrating in an arrogant way and that's why he lost, but no, he started celebrating after he thought he finished the race.
You change your name and move to another country after that...
DasVERMiT so sad
🤣🤣🤣🤣
...And that's why he's Russo, and not Rossi.
that is so cringing, its almost too hard to watch lol
I almost felt sorry for him. All of his effort in maintaining lead of the race suddenly passed by and he didnt even realize it.
How the hell does anyone involved with any kind of circuit motorsports assume that the race is over after _not_ seeing a blippin' checkered flag?
You really have tunnel vision in racing, you have no eyes for it. Mistakes happen

You, sir, just won the internet! :D :D funnier than the video itself
LMAOOOOOO!!!!!!!
Please stop with the "you won the internet" comment.
Your humor reminds me of caleb city😂
Aleix Espargaro: Pretty cool, want to see me do it again?
That was a bad case of Premature Celebration.
Anyone else actually watch the awesome racing at the end? Such good riding

That move by the green no. 8 guy was fairly epic too!
he failed maths
@@rouenyu There are no comms in motorcycle racing, the only instructions come from the lap boards.
Bro had the hardest throw ever and was still happy about it not knowing what he’d done wrong 💀
you should also mention that beautiful move by the green Kawasaki in the LAST LAP.
so from what I've understood, a pringle celebrated too early and a nacho won the race?
It was painful, but damn that was a hell of a finish.
It will be an unforgetable moments for his entire life

This, but in MarioKart on a daily basis for me.
he finished 14th anyway! lol :D
That wouldve been his only win in his entire career so far.
As he was punching the air, all punters who betted on him punched their television screens
He wasn't being cocky. That's what every person does when they win in motorcros. He just happened to miscount.
0:27 Russo: I'm so fast that I finished a hole lap before the rest
Just like me when playing racing games in lower difficulty lol..
What I want to see more is the post race interview
I wanted to see the reaction of his crew in the pit.
Watch at 2:05.

Run Forrest, RUN NOW!!!!
I just realised how much better than F1 this is because they can't really block people from passing them.
That was actually really fascinating at the end.
That Kawasaki at the end was sick.
Imagine the bad mouthing he receive from his team and sponsors in the locker room.
After 10 years the same situation with Aleix Espargaro, incredible
I'd love to see someone interview him after the race
I want to see his face when he realized.
How humiliating...
In Little League I hit a triple down the line off the best pitcher in the league. I slid into 3rd and the ump yelled Safe. I was so happy I jumped up and down. Kid tagged me ump yelled out. I cried
Nice pass at the end for the REAL finish.
the actual final lap battle was more interesting than the guy that stuffed it
haha same here saw it last night...now to find the others!
At least he's famous now. If he had won, no one would have known about him.
memories of the Gran Turismo 2
10 años después Aleix Espargaro se une al club

this is a crazy sport, they'er going so fast!
He didn't forgot, nobody forgots to run the last lap. He thougt that was the last one.
Imagine if someone who has a big crush on him watching this 🤦♂️
I think this man won't able to sleep every night .
haduh" saking semangatnya jadi juara sampek lupa waktu finis belum selesai
He'll need at least a championship to redeem himself
'either he's wrong, the graphics are wrong, or everyone else is wrong' haha
this really shows how people are in general, some people just celebrate too early!
people tend to remember one's mistake than their success.
... but for like 20 seconds, he was the happiest man in the world.
well happened to me many times while playing mario kart ^^
OMG The PAIN of watching this is Brutal ! Poor Guy...
That really sucks. That really, really blows.
Lesson, lesson, if you see a stranger - follow him.
what an overtake
Epic finish!
i agree. that overtake was better than anything ive seen in F1 this year. monaco this year was just a big crash.
LoL! I did something like that in a courier race once. I went to the wrong address/finish point. Really sucked because I was on a MTB and the next MTB was about 20 positions behind me (the first 30 positions were mostly road bikes).
Wow, if that isn't a slap to the forehead moment!
what a pass made at the end there though
At first I thought that it was going to be a guy celebrating in an arrogant way and that's why he lost, but no, he started celebrating after he thought he finished the race.
At least he was happy for a moment!
Hillarious!
Ball so hard I forget to finish races.
no hes not a lap ahead you fool, he genuinely thought he won when he still had another lap to finish.
Poor guy. Must be heartbreaking.
Embarrassing moment caught on camera
Always good to stop when youre at the top
0:13 When you write test and don't know there was also 2nd page.
This happened to a bicyclist last year too (Not motor, regular bicycling)
use "cycling" people should understand it
both the fail and the finish was awesome
he thought it was the last lap
This defines awkward.
I was here to watch that guy fail but nice overtake by that guy on the green Kawasaki .
i felt dispressed...
this is the maldonado of motorbike racing.
Two wheels = two brain cells...
haha, that is not the only one,
remember 125cc class in MotoGP Catalunya 2009???
haha
CLOSE ENOUGH.
I don't think this is what he meant when my dad said always quit while your ahead
GENIUS😂
reminds me of the time the 2 bikes got stuck together and started to spin round and round in circles.
Yeah, that was dumb, but what a finish!
Frankie Chili did the same a lot of years ago, he ended crying beside the tyrewall then.
They were litterally touching there knees on the road
en que puesto quedo tras el fallo?
as long as the idea gets to the reader .. plus it's a comment not a Doctoral thesis.
The first place battle was what made this video
You wouldn't know.
Oh dear after all that hard work too. He must be feeling dreadful, but mistakes are mistakes bet it won't happen to him again.
Is there a post-race clip of an interview? lol : )
top gear brought me here
wakakakakakaka kah kah kah smlm tgk aliex wat hal trus dtg sini wakakaka
Mr. Russo, meet Mr. Mark Martin 1994.
I wonder what the guy in second place was thinking at the time?
Wow..
sure you can. if you put the ball through your own goal, it's still counted for the other team
