I can't thank you enough. I lost my job and simultaneously my laptop stopped charging. I took it to the store and they wanted one hundred dollars to back up my information and then another two hundred and fifty to change the port. It was also going to take two weeks to send out and get back. I end up finding the part on amazon and it arrived in three days. I bought a tiny screwdriver set to help with the screws. And I changed it myself. And now it's working- all for a little less than ten dollars. God bless you!
@superstarpyromusic Yes, it was not hard to figure out. The computer is still charging to 100%. I needed a very small screwdriver, and I got it from my eyeglass repair kit. I would not have been able to unscrew all the parts. Take a Pic of the computer with your phone in case you forger how it goes back tgr.
I've tried repairing my own computers in the past without luck. When my charging port stopped working I looked at having it repaired. Would have cost at least $150 and sending my laptop away for 2-4 weeks. Your video made this very easy and my laptop is now charging normally. Thank you so much!
THANK YOU!! Best Buy told me the jack was welded to the mother board and couldn't be replaced. What a load of BS!! It was a plug-in on my Dell Inspiron 15-3505 laptop. You saved me tons of money!
Make sure you get the right jack! Count the pins and make sure they're in the same order and orientation gaps in the right place. It's dc power so it has to be right. Don't think they won't send you the wrong one or make it incorrectly. I think I would trust azon over bay for this..I can't believe I said that. BUT bay will get your money back!
I'm in the process of purchasing a DC Power Jack With Cable Harness Charging Port, for my Dell Inspiron 15 3000. Am I buying the correct DC Charging Jack?
Thank you for this video. Your videos are very helpful. I have a question. I replaced the DC Jack and was successful but now my keyboard has stopped working. Is it possible I damaged the connection while replacing the DC Jack? I don't see how this could have happened. Any advice is appreciated!
Hey, I have a Dell Inspiron 15 3000, and I need to change the DC Jack. I wanna do it myself cos at every tech place they'll make me wait 10 days or more, and I need to get this fixed asap. Will this explanation work for my laptop? I think I could do it following your instructions, just want to make sure my laptop will be like the one you've used. Thanks in advance, I appreciate your help. Sharing is caring :)
Hi: I followed everything that you showed here. After putting everything back, it's showing 'Hard Drive - Not installed'! What should I do now?? Please help. Thanks.
I have 2old laptops that are both dell pavilons.. .One has a screen that comes and goes. Mostly goes nowadays so it doesnt work. The other wont charge. I have to wiggle the wire to get it to charge and that barely works at all now. And it loses charge very quickly. So what I might do is switch the jack off the bad screen one to the good screen one and maybe switch batteries too.... .And if that doesnt work then Ill smash both.
I have an Inspiron 3502. My socket failed within warranty and it was changed by Dell. But 12 months on, it has failed again. What a poor quality laptop this is.
