"Are extended RV warranties worth it?" It's a question I receive and hear/see online ALL THE TIME. For some customers it's an absolutely great way to protect yourself and your RV. For others it's essentially a waste of money.
So how do you know if it's right for YOU? That's the onion whose layers we peel back in this video. We'll give you an idea of what is REALLY covered in an "Extended Warranty," what it DOESN'T do for you, and why some places basically try to shove them down your throat.
Additionally, you can learn about the Extended Service Plans offered at Haylett RV at us.portfolioco.com/ or contact our team for even more details!

Take notice of that family taking a picture in front of a Geo Pro with a Chevy Equinox that looks like haylett RV makes dreams come true

I never buy extended warranty for anything! If it breaks I can fix it.

We purchased our 235rks from you guys. No we did not take the extended warranty, yes we took the gap insurance. No we did not get pressured to do anything....

When I bought my 5th wheel from Haylett RV, I was asked only once if I wanted an extended warranty. I said no thank you, and that was it. It was never brought up again. That is just one reason why I bought from Haylett RV, love the honesty and straightforward information. Thank you Josh... and by the way Ryan and I love our Montana!

You can tell a lot, by what is not covered. But yes, it astounds me how many think it covers wear and tear. Thanks, more than decent of you to cover this.

We bought one because it was our first RV and read so much on how constant it was to fix stuff and how fridges and AC’s go out. Our warranty covers the replacement of these big items and labor for 5 years. Yes, it was a few grand but one AC unit and maybe another item and it pays itself. Now, would I do it again getting some RV maintenance time under my belt, probably not. I think first timers it may be good but once you start wrenching a bit on these things you learn. GREAT VIDEO my friend. Wish you all were in NC.

Josh, you mentioned READING IT, LOL. I read my 30 page warranty booklet 4 months later. I usually do all my research ahead of time, but after 4 months of shopping for a camper, I was exhausted, lol. My biggest gripe with these contracts is the MAJOR LOOPHOLE they all have. I plan to take very good care of my camper and do the maintenance anyway, but if you don’t dot every I, and cross every T, they can deny the claim. I will do it, but how many people will keep every receipt for spray lubricant, seal conditioner, cleaning the furnace, etc, etc. I will look into the company you mentioned. Josh, thanks so much for all you do. Yes, I know you get paid, but you’re doing a service that nobody else I know of does. Take good care

Thats one of the bravest things I have ever seen anyone do in an RV video..... Post below if we pressured you into a service contract... or something to that effect. You had to be pretty sure your teams actions, actually "walked the talk", and were not going to create a firestorm below. I don't see a firestorm. Refreshing! I wish you weren't so far away. But the more I see, the more I think I need to figure out how to make a long distance relationship work :)

Because of you I would buy from your dealership in a heart beat. I check out your inventory and no beacons or riverstone legacy. I really appreciate your videos

I always like when you go to a dealer and they say this rv/trailers great quality you'll be happy...then when you sit down with the finance guy they're like things can break.....Thanks for putting out the video's Josh! Love your reviews and tips.

I have been in the Service Contract business for over 12 years. Good job with the explanation. It is all about knowing what you are buying. Don’t trust the finance person that says it covers everything. Most of our customer complaints are due to being given misinformation at purchase.

When I bought my 295QSL8 Artic Wolf from Haylett the sales manager, Jeff, explained the extended service contract, I said 'No thank you' and we moved on with the rest of the paperwork. 👍 No pressure.

Some extended warranties will only cover things that stop working from a "system failure" so a fan motor stopped would be covered but if the plastic blades break that would be something they may argue with and not pay, some are really sneaky some are better.

I learned the hard way. I purchased a service plan from Rte. 66 and turns out theres 2 policy variations. One covers component failure and that's it and the other version covers consequential damage. In my case I had a plumbing leak at the black tank. In my case Rte. 66 would cover the failed rubber gasket, but it's on me to deal with under skirt damage and cleanup. For sheets of plastic, under skirt is super expensive! Going forward, I will take the contract home and study it before agreement.

I just bought a Rookwood from you guys and I got an extended warranty/service contract that covers the big things for me. To me, it's worth it. I was never pressured to spend more money on anything. As a matter of fact, on one particular thing, I was advised not to spend the money. I was told it wasn't necessary. HONESTY, that is why I bought from you guys.

I purchased about 3 months ago a Jayco 336fbok and did purchase the extended warranty. And I can say when I was offered it I felt no pressure.

My concern with Extended Warranties is finding a dealership that can get you in and out in a reasonable amount of time. Don't want to wait for weeks to get my RV back.
