I’m here because I lost my instructions. 😂 I had a stylist complete my 1st texture release. I did my 2nd & I’ll be doing my 3rd one this year. (I was a licensed stylist but let my license lapse after going to NP school.) No heat damage so far. Hair’s easier to manage so less breakage. I work out 5-6 days a week & it holds up better than just a silk press without the texture release. I’m considered 3c/4a. I love it. I’m sold.
AVLON TEXTURE RELEASE Shampoo twice w/sulfate-free shampoo Towe dry Spray Hair Dilator (place under the dryer for 10 minutes with a plastic cap). Blow dry hair up to 80% dry Saturate each subsection with releasing lotion, comb through, place under the dryer for 20 minutes w/plastic cap. Rinse for 2.5 minutes & towel dry well. Spray Thermal heat protectant on the hair and blow dry 100% dry. Pass the flat iron through each subsection 7 times. And, style as desired.
I had a texture release a year ago, and was so satisfied of the results. I wore my hair for 2 weeks straight, and went back to my routine: washing/cornrows/wigs, the difference this time was that my hair was way more manageable and this for at least 6-7 months

I see no difference to doing a silk press does it last longer even after washing the hair of. It it'd just s silk press with whatever heat activated chemical products she has applied?
@@TheAnonyy it’s a heat activated keratin treatment and lasts up to 3 months so when you wash the curls return back to its normal state just more manageable and defined and as soon as heat is applied it will go back to the silk press state👍🏾
The heat obviously doesn’t damage her hair if this is her second time using it, because clearly her curls were POPPIN’!! You did an amazing job for your first time, couldn’t even tell! Where are you located???

Maristine Laws for her I believe so. She was going back home to Africa. She said she always gets it before because it helps keeps her hair straight when she’s sweating in the heat!
Her hair looked healthy the minute it came in contact with liquid! She has beautiful curls already- didn’t think she needed a treatment but it still turned out beautiful too.

REALLY wish someone in the Chicagoland area did this. Every stylist I contacted either said they were unfamiliar with the product OR it was too many steps.
Same in Michigan. No one messes with this one. I had to get the Chi version which I really like but I wanted the Avlon one because it's made specifically for afro hair.
Perm(relaxer) no not at all because it doesn’t make the hair bone straight. It makes it less frizzy and it detangle easier and blow dried quicker. You still have the volume and bounciness of natural hair but it last longer when pressed than natural hair. The biggest reason why it isn’t the same is because it isn’t permanent. It wears off.

Unfortunately it’s high. I think 420 or higher. Only to lock in the treatment. When she does it again she can go back to low temps. You can shampoo it. You just have to use sulfate free products. With this treatment her hair will be more manageable. It will dry faster and stay straighter long without frizzing you.
@@yanaFlye I had a keratin treatment. The treated hair remains much softer than your natural hair even after 3/4 months. You can tell different in your natural hair and the keratin treated hair. If your hair is 4C, you may have to continue to get the treatments because of the difference in texture to prevent breakage. . .like a relaxer
Can you do a texture release to just loosen your curl pattern? Not to keep it straight long term? I’ve searched all over to see just loosened curls but can’t find any.

@@tfilcrab I don’t think the gentle /smooth version of sts dies much on kinky hair , especially since you aren’t supposed to go over 400 degrees…truthfully formaldehyde is released into the air at high temps like 450 ,…the instructions for texture release are the same as a keratin treatment

Yes. I did cover that. Unfortunately, in order for the product to active in her hair the manufacturing instructions are to pass the flat iron 7 times 🤦🏾♀️ I hate that it has to be done that way.
My hair was dyed black 4/5 days ago... I've now done the avlon treatment today, and my hair has turned ginger ! The instructions said don't dye 2/3 days prior to treatment.. I followed this ... so why has this happened please ?
I use the Avlon treatment and I dyed my hair black. The trick is to do the Avlon treatment first, then color 7 days later. I also made the mistake of coloring my hair first and got the same result you just described. The other way around is definitely the way to go :)

@@sevenzenhair67 thank you for the reply. My roots are 2 inches thick of regrowth whilst the rest is straight. I don't want to pay salon price I'd rather do it myself. Just didn't know if I should apply it to all my hair or just the regrowth.

Do you do it at 400 for 3 passes or 450 for 7 passes?
I do 3 at this point maybe 2. This my 6th go round and I only try and do new growth.
AVLON TEXTURE RELEASE
Shampoo twice w/sulfate-free shampoo
Towe dry
Spray Hair Dilator (place under the dryer for 10 minutes with a plastic cap).
Blow dry hair up to 80% dry

Depends on how much hair a person has. It wears off so when it is time to do it again you redo the whole head.

Once the treatment is in and you wet it it has a lot less frizz and it’s easier to style. It’s more manageable

That’s the instructions on this treatment. You have to do it that way to seal the treatment in. On regular styling I only do one pass.
