As someone who enjoys solo travel, you’ve encapsulated the genuine up and down feelings that come with the journey, and forcing yourself to break free from your comfort zone. Lovely soundtrack as well. Be safe and hope to see more of your travels.
I know, right? And then make sweeping claims about all the food in Ireland. I’ve been to Canada and the U.S. and seen the absolute state of food in vast areas of North America. Old fashioned diners were actually the most reliable places to eat because at least they knew how to cook what’s on their menu.
Irish food is extremely good. You definitely hit on some bad spots because Galway is full of amazing food. I ate fantastic food everywhere I went in Ireland so I’m surprised. Shame you keep falling asleep.
We don't talk like that here , better research next time , Ireland is full of Gems and proud of where I come from ...and no our food is not all beige ...
You’re next stop in Ireland we need to plan your food out better Ireland has some of the best food in the world, Galway has a pizzeria called the dough bros and it’s one of Europe’s best rated pizzerias and Dublin has the no.6 rated steakhouse in the whole world fx Buckley
Hi Lauren. In the spirit of full disclosure, I am a big fan of travel vlogs. For me, they are good escapism from life's day-to-day trials and tribulations. I suspect, for this reason, that this vlog episode showed up in my feed. You are really good at this travel vlog theme. I felt a certain authenticity that I don't always see with other travel vloggers. You're funny. That little slip you showed, showing the bartender how to make a drink, your introduction to Guinness, the couple below bumping, your various accents ... brilliant. Keep up the good work. I hope to see more from you in the future. Please add mechanism for tipping! Warm regards from Florida, USA.
Politeness is the only thing stopping you making a famine joke? Over a million people died ffs. If if you’re basing a nation’s food on a couple of days, I’ve been to parts of the US where the only restaurants I saw for weeks on end were Crackerbarrel, McDonalds and places selling what they thought passed for pizza.
okay i was enjoying this but the famine joke really lost me lol... the famine was actually a genocide where food was literally kept from the irish by the british and part of an 800 year long occupation, with the north still being occupied today. it's really weird how american people take it as free reign to joke about and undermine, when it's a very painful part of irish history and i don't know why you felt the need to say that. i think if you're going to come to a country you should at least educate yourself on major events on history and not make quite brazen and tone deaf statements. also you just researched your restaurants wrong, the west coast of ireland has some of the most amazing food. just odd behaviour really, maybe it's down to lack of education but it was in fact a genocide and isn't all that funny.
Hi Eimear, thank you for your comment- while in Ireland I learned about the tragedies of the famine in what I’m sure is a small capacity compared to the long lasting impact it has had on the country. My witty tone in this video was no excuse to make a lighthearted comment about the cruel nature of the famine. Learning about it from the locals taught me the scale of its effects and I apologize for the bit I made about it. Thank you for watching this and taking the time to comment on that bit.
@ i can appreciate that and thanks for your response! i did really love the rest of the vid and how you portrayed ireland hope you enjoyed! also it’s not something that is widely taught and i think that’s why people don’t realise the severity of it sometimes until they actually speak to people or visit! ❤️
@ im guessing you’re either not irish or just ignorant to your own history but my comment is there to educate and i really don’t care about your opinion
I’ve no idea who you are or why this came up on my algorithm, other than I’m Irish but - there is absolutely nothing funny or joke worthy about “The Famine” which was an actual Genocide perpetrated by the British against the Irish People. Taking advantage of the Potato Blight they continued to Ship tones of Cows, Sheep, Fish, Grain and every other foodstuff they could across the Irish Sea to Britain while at the same time evicting thousands of Irish from their homes while they starved. Over a million Irish starved directly with another Million dying associated with diseases caused by the blight and another 2 Million emigrated. At this time in the 1840’s there were nearly 9 Million people living in Ireland. 170 years later our population still has not recovered to those levels. So DO NOT come over here on your first class flight and make a disgusting joke about the darkest period in Irish History and to make it worse saying it in an English accent. We are a proud and strong People who built most of your Cities and we have Beautiful Food, Irish and other and are known for it, but if you eat from takeaways, you get what you pay for. Also there is not one Restaurant or pub in Ireland that doesn’t know what a Vodka and Coke is - he had both so I’m sure he wasn’t that dumb and also unlike America security guards in Cinemas are legally not entitled to handcuff anyone and even if it what An Garda it would be unlikely to happen without the entire movie to be at least paused until the trouble was over. So from this it’s clear, not only does this show you’re either ignorant or completely insensitive to the 1840,s and 1850’s but also your prone to exaggerations or just pure lies to over dramatize a situation. Hope your first class flight Home was nice at least to make your trip purposeful. I am not normally a crank and never comment on SM especially UA-cam but your utter disrespect towards Ireland has infuriated me despite the fact you made some nice comments about strangers but even they were more directed about how YOU deal with situation around strangers rather than the strangers themselves.
Shut up bro it’s a lighthearted joke. She painted Ireland in such a good light through the video and u come here in the comments and make me not want to go anymore.
You just complained about somebody talking about their perspective WHEN THEY ARE ON A TRIP BY THEMSELVES. I hope u don’t represent all Irish people cuz wow what a bundle of joy u are
You need to plan your eating out a bit better. Ireland has a lot of great food, but like anywhere plenty of mid places as well. But we went out for 12 days and 11/12 dinners were excellent. And most of the lunches were really good as well.
Totally agree. I think the problem really was trusting Google when making where to go and eat plans than asking the locals. You seem to be a really nice girl who loves to travel and talk to people, do quirky things. I'm putting these decisions down to jet lag, the weather (it not the best time to visit Ireland), and just bad luck. Your food choices was so seemed very random. Ireland's an amazing country, I would suggest going back but not in the middle of winter.
Came from IG and omg your video editing is something else! Absolutely love the way you layer your “recaps” of the day over the clips from the day. Makes for such an interesting watch, I can tell so much effort has been put into this! Gonna go binge watch ur other vids now 😆😆 Btw on your next solo trip come to the UK (Liverpool and Glasgow in particular bc we are very friendly and I will show u around) 🥰
Just read other comments..have we been watching same person who hadn't a clue on how to enjoy herself..complaining from beginning to end. No wo der she travels alone..who would want to travel with her..hadn't one nice thing to say about our country..wouldn't want a night out with you😂
Lauren, Hope you and your family have been well. Thanks for pinging this. As previously mentioned, the team is rocking with the solo travel vlogs, and is anticipating a final Q4 push in views, likes, subs, and smashes of the bell. Please reach out with any further questions. Happy Holidays, Team
oh this video was perfect 😌 I’m planning my Ireland trip, and wondering what you used to check train times? Was it an app or a website? Much love x 🫶🏻💗
Unfortunately you chose the most mediocre restaurants where most Indians wouldn't go at all. They are just average curry houses where they make food just to please the taste Palettes who are new to such flavours. Unlike the UK where people are used to tasting intense flavours for many years. Although, there are good authentic options (both southern and northern Indian) in Dublin these days.
No wonder your food was bad, we don't eat that takeaway poop, if you want good food, go to a Restaurant or Café, or even a Bar/Pub is much better, the poop you bought, we do not eat, we eat non processed food in general!
Thank you for sharing this journey, Lauren! I hope you had a good start to the new year (unlike me)! 🙏🏻 I first got to know you through the “first date commentator” video, but I’ll be your loyal follower 😄 You are sweet like Galway Girl kinda! 🎵
Ireland is known for not having good food but you got really unlucky in Galway, should of went to a traditional pub or cute little cafe, you wpuld get much better fish and chips in Dublin. Love those chats with strangers on trains 😊
Love this! Irish native here 🇮🇪 it’s pronounced Gawl-way - Galway. 🥰
As someone who enjoys solo travel, you’ve encapsulated the genuine up and down feelings that come with the journey, and forcing yourself to break free from your comfort zone. Lovely soundtrack as well. Be safe and hope to see more of your travels.
Thank you! Solo travel is so lovely for so many reasons
Glad you enjoyed the trip generally and thanks for repping the country, but Jaysus how did you balls-up eating in Galway?!

Irish food is extremely good. You definitely hit on some bad spots because Galway is full of amazing food. I ate fantastic food everywhere I went in Ireland so I’m surprised. Shame you keep falling asleep.
Compared to American food, Irish food is far superior. I'm Irish and have lived in America for 30 years.
I can't wait to watch this 4K Sony footage of Cantrell in Ireland
@@NickzAndMikz me neither
You ate in all the wrong places in Galway unfortunately , fab restaurants there 😊
We don't talk like that here , better research next time , Ireland is full of Gems and proud of where I come from ...and no our food is not all beige ...
very well done, you've got an entertaining long-form video style, looking forward to seeing more!
Thanks you! glad you enjoyed it!
I love your editing style !!!!!

There’s simply no way “Irish food is bad cuz the famine” joke offended this u this much to write an entire essay. It’s a joke bruh relax 😂

Give the girl a break it's hard to know everything about foreign countries, irish people have a sense of humour and make jokes about it too
I like that i didn't have to watch this at 1.5x to stay engaged
my comfort creator fr please post more on youtube i beg
Yes ma’am
Ireland is such a magical place. I lived near galway in a small country town for a month in 2021 and I think about it every day
Truly
Please god, it's G-awl-way. 🤣

Agreeing largely with what u day- this vid did not represent Ireland at all.
“These boots are made for hawkin and that’s just what they’ll tuah” earned my like
Thank god

That Irish man was slagging you in Galway, just a bit of flirting 😜 Also you pronounce it Gull-way like seagull
